Yep great step up.  Why I remember when he was just handing out towels in the beta tester club washroom.  He later graduated to coach check and then there was that fateful day when c3k showed up and Ian was waiting with a whiskey and properly clipped cigar.  New vistas opened up...
Someday maybe I'll be able to make that same leap.  Oh sorry mister Hardenberger, here is your towel.  Yes I am sorry I apologize for allowing it to get cold, let me grab you another.  sigh

Thank you @Bil Hardenberger I am game any time for an official public rematch when the Beta for space lobsters (or whatever is next) comes along. Heck if you are ever in need of an opponent for any game drop me a line - I'll probably be doing the same.

First off nice try, but we don't get to dictate.  Why?  Because the above statement for example reflects an assumption- patently false that only one game can be worked on at a time.  There is a division of labor which means if Charles is waiting on something from someone else he should do nothing basically wasting time he could spend on another title.  That is something you should understand if you are going to make suggestions and if you don't understand it you should refrain.

Reading the CMSF2 homepage I came upon this post by Steve….
“We've been very happy with the level of support shown for all our CM2 products.  Some pay for themselves a little bit better than others, but in the end it works out well for everybody.  I think we should put out T-shirts and bumper stickers that say "Have You Hugged a CMBN Player Today?" 😛”
….which made me wonder “Why is there no merchandise?”
After seeing many shows, comedy, music etc. most have merchandise for sale, or “merch”. I understand they could a good piece of their income from.
So Battlefront, why no t-shirts, coffee mugs, hats, magnets, jackets etc. etc. etc.
(Maybe it would help CM players recognize each other on the street.)
I for one would load my closets and desktops with all things Combat Mission.

@Ithikial_AU:   I've been working on this quite a while. If Rome to Victory does come out soon I can easily swap the units. Just got bored waiting.
@Sandokan:  I was working off an old hand drawn map I found online about the battle. It had the name as Miramar. Probably a misspelling from the Brit that made the map. Or the name changed slightly in the last 50 years.

Let me know if these screenshots are better.

would you stop knowing an entire squad of heavily armed Marines was back there and knew which way you went?  Red Bull gives you wings!
Jihad footwear incorporated.  Designed to allow fighters to out run the crusader dogs!  Wonder if they need disclaimer info in the commercial to prevent Sharia court lawsuits?

That all depends on the precise definition of the function 'completed' and requires a declaration of 'the game' 😜

Yes, In general I’d agree. I used to love stats. I loved them so much I memorized them simply by poring over them so often. And when I started playing CM I discovered that knowing that Sherman ahead has 53mm or 45mm frontal armour is not likely to impact tactics all that much. Knowing it’s a Jumbo would, but that’s a considerable difference.
And I can’t imagine any RL commander being ALLOWED to use these stats meaningfully. Not because they are ordered to, rather, that mission exigencies require one to.
”Lieutenant, see that bridge. Your orders are to stop the Panthers and Tigers that will be coming down this road. Use whatever means at your disposal. Whatever happens, do not let the enemy cross!” and the poor lieutenant looks at his 37mm ATG and says, “Yes, Sir!”

Some pretty exciting action going on here! I didn’t expect tank-on-tank so quickly. Those Leopards have great sightlines. Well done!

    Minute 153: Orders
Based on the relative activity I changed my mind again about the FO. They cannot use TRPs to call fire on Rutsey so they need eyes on. Also in this shot is the call time for a non TRPs call to the 105s for the FO.

For reference the call time for the Mortar platoon HQ is just as bad as the section leader on KT3.

    And same for the CO.

No orders for the tanks on KT3 – the know what to do.

The sniper team is facing a mechanized assault – so time to really go. Pull back and ford the river, rest and head for the trees.

At this stage any remaining problems need to be reported to support. That way you can give them personal information etc so they can find your records.

    Minute 155: Orders
No new orders are being given. I thought that it would be interesting to see the information flow so the following are some screen shots to show that.
Starting with the scouts of 15 Platoon. They can see enemy vehicles in their assembly area and they have contacts just outside the ambush zone.

15 Platoon HQ has a pretty good representation of the scouts information.

The company CO has a bit less but still the basic picture.

The tanks in 18 troop have nothing yet. I see, however that there is a break in the comms because they have no contact with E squadron (not on the map). I did not check the HQ tank when I took these screen shots.

On a Project Management timeline, the final 10% of effort will always consume 90% of your time, money, and resources.  😲
The Project Management axiom is, "In scope, in time, in budget", I can give you two out of three!

It's a natural log function, which is asymptotic, like radioactive half life.  Half of the remainder is decayed away in the next half-life time period. But as you show, it's never all gone (because the numbers of atoms in anything are eye-watering - law of large numbers says those random decays even out over large numbers of atoms - hence why half life is accurate even though decay is a random probabilistic process).

Another engineering axiom.   There is "Good",  "Cheap", and "On Time"  You may have any 2, but NOT the third.

Inverse square law. 1/d^2 where d is distance, or in our case percentage to completion. You get closer and closer to 0 (100%=0 in this case) but never quite get there.

Aw pshaw, let me ask anyway; does Battlefront have a date when they know R2V will be ready for release?
