    More from the Benouville Map...

The first 2 Horsas to land in Normandy...

The glider pilots land so close to the bridge...

Troops arrive from 7th Para Battalion and start to move over the bridge...

The Piat is quite effective at close range...

...and even against the PzKw IV.

I've been busy making new builds for my deadstick map...

The Famous Cafe near the Benouville Bridge, I couldn't make an exact copy but I thought this compromise was ok?

The Marie in Benouville, it stands today just as it was in 1944.

The streets in Benouville can be really narrow so iv'e deleted the road to allow me to get the buildings in closer.

Cheers thanks for looking, feel free to comment or ask any questions.

Looking forward to some great stuff for CMBN very soon, I decided to relook at some of the graphic elements, I made new Heer uniforms by copying and pasting EEEZ brilliant work and mixing them up a bit for variety, gave them a field caps, I really want some soldiers to have there sleeves rolled up, (is this possible techies???) changed the commercials and stole a few to make as Norman as possible, the church is old I made the maps and most of the other stuff before I made the Stalingrad Mod, which left the Norman builds left unfinished, then a break from CM and then got hooked on the Berlin Mod... So lets see what happens, I have a lot of maps, mostly British and Canadian, but also the battles around Caratan etc with the 101st. I used a few ground textures from the Berlin Mod which helped but is a work in progress and may be changed.
Grab a coffee and take a look at my interpretation of Sainte Marie du Mont, just a walk through to showcase the new work.

I am almost finished with the France 1940 Mod. I will create just a few small 1940 scenarios and release the GOLD and DIAMOND packs this fall.
THEN I turn my attention back to AFRIKA.

On 8/14/23 I sent a PM to Bootie so he can put the new installment on CMMODS. But he hasn't even read it yet.
So, here is an advance copy but be warned the link might eventually go dormant.
    August 2023
    WELCOME!
This is the CMFI France 1940 Mod.
In April we posted a download link for the “BRONZE LEVEL RELEASE”.
In May we came back with another download link to grab the “SILVER LEVEL RELEASE”.
Now we offer "STERLING SILVER RELEASE" which adds the BEF and I have a humble 2 scenarios. One to play as axis and one to play as the BEF.
Just a system to slowly release the mod. BRONZE then SILVER then GOLD then DIAMOND. You need them all as the mod builds upon itself and later scenarios use all the parts from the earlier releases.
Again, my thanks to all those who helped make this possible:
Damian45, Falaise, JM Stuff, kevinkin, Juju, sbobovyc, Tanksalot, Others not listed.

    EASY INSTRUCTIONS!
    1. Put scenarios in your CMFI scenario folder.
They have a prefix of FR40A or FR40B and now FR40BEF.
    2. Plop the mod folders in your CMFI z folder.
TIP: If you have tons of extra German helmets in your z from other mods…you should temporarily pull them out.
Or you will see an odd camo helmet on the France 1940 Germans. That would be sad.
    3. Look at the “Nice to Haves” folder and make some decisions.
    a. Do you want a different splash screen while playing the mod? Pick mine or Damian’s. Now I have a new one for BEF. Pick and choose.
    b. Plop the music in your z if you want a different tune as it loads. I added a new intro music if you want or not. No big deal.
    c. The loading screens by Damian45 are awesome. I recommend them.
    d. The String file changes the names of stuff. It is not dangerous.
But just know it should be removed out of z if you do other stuff. If you see a couple
versions, please just use the one that is the newest, the most recently dated when viewed in a
    folder with details. Got it?
Standard disclaimer. Use at your own risk.
All materials are licensed work of BFC.
I did this for free. I am not perfect. Holler if you see I made an error and I will address it ASAP. Stuff happens!
    Best regards,

@Damian45 has several awesome uniform mods YET to be showcased. I will get there I promise.
@Falaise has some BEF stuff that will see its debut very soon.
@JM Stuff is working a Belgium map and scenario as well. Maybe later in the fall or winter we shall see that Battle Pack.

Amazing to me what the modders can get up to and Kohlenklau has presented
a master class.  Next job is to go through the scenario creation documentation there
are so many scenario possibilities.  Many thanks for this.

    Return to seriousness.
The scenario editor details are noteworthy of how I have crafted the German infantry force.
Anyway, for anybody out there interested in making CMRT seem more early war @Artkin @Suchy here is what I did.
I set date to May 1945. Quality to poor. Purchased a shifstamm kriegsmarine battalion!
I only needed a company size force so I deleted out a bunch of stuff.
The mod turns them into German infantry.
Return date to June 1944. Region is Soviet Union.
I get 99.9% LMG34. No rifle grenades. I don't see any G41 or G43. I have only 2 or 3 panzerfaust 30 or 30k among the company. Go to those squads and detach an anti-tank team. You lose 2 riflemen but they take the panzerfaust and you can use an exit zone filter near the axis set up zone to pull them out of the scenario early.

I completely agree. And with potentially very different possibilities for scenarios: mountains, snow, hot summer, mobile warfare, trench warfare…
And a completely new opposition: WW2 era russian stuff vs. WW2 era allied stuff.

I will soon be the proud owner of an RAF aerial recon photo from May 1940. Should I put it in a frame by my bedside?
The scenario presses nicely forward. The book "The Flames of Calais" should be here Monday. It has about 8 pages describing this action. I will examine every word.
Meanwhile, my German aufklarungs gruppe takes shape from my imagination.

For the dirty half-dozen who follow my half-baked efforts, I report that I just had a damn fun time acting out the "Green Jacket's Bridge" scenario using CMRT. I played it hot seat versus myself. It had an awesome BEF1940 vibe to it. A few Russian voices leaked in and I figured out that I have that Red Orchestra R.O. enhanced Russian voice pack in my z. I had moved it up front in my z thinking it would be overwritten as my bef1940 mod loaded but I guess R.O. probably has more file numbers. Lesson learned.
I again used an "SMG filter" exit zone to drain off my SMG's from the Allied side. I think I ended up with just one Thompson SMG on the allied OOB held by the Troop Commander 2nd Lieutenant Barr. Uhhh, let's see. The officer won it in a poker game? Uhhh, he found it at the loading dock at Lester-sheister-sister-shire? Some semi-plausible reason.  The Brens were firing away and a Vickers as well. The 2 Boys and Girls ATR's didn't nail any of the German AFV's in my test. The 2" mortars were firing away nicely.
I will continue with the mods associated with this project and also continue polishing the scenario. Maybe next is a play against a buddy in PBEM. If I ever do an AI plan it would just be for the German attack I guess.
I have asked for a quote from the UK air recon website out of Edinburgh for an aerial photo from May of 1940 that covers Les Attaques. My current CM map is based on GE google earth and old photos and just looking in GE to see what looks newer and would not be there in 1940. I also found a cheap used book about the battle. It is on the way. The guy who wrote it survived the battle but was assassinated by the IRA years later. Not a political comment, just a sad fact.

What a day. I hopped to various chores and back to blender many times with many failures. But as usual I did have an idea and I successfully got it into the game. The animation of how the soldier holds the weapon is not exactly historical. I don't know how to swap that without messing up something else. Screenshot of work in progress for the texture uv mapping...

    Hi all,
Just wanted to say hello and I hope I get to play some PBEM against some of you when I get better.
I'm a huge history fan, and also a fan of Graviteam Tactics: Mius Front, but it never quite did what I wanted. Games like Gates of Hell: Ostfront, looked gorgeous but were tactically shallow experiences that in no way represented the battles I've read about in books. The closest I could get was warg ames like War in the East 2, which still were fairly abstract.
I found out about these games a few weeks ago and...Well, with the Steam sale I've purchased CM:BS, CM:SF2 and CM:BN, plus all the respective DLCs. I've been wanting games like these for years. Can't wait to start building the hours. I've clocked up 30 hours in two weeks which, for me as a 37 year old with a job and girlfriend, is fairly extreme.

Cannot believe I didn't try them sooner.

    Nice to meet you all

Cup of coffee in hand I spent some time on the hull and roadwheels in Blender and GiMP. I modified the mesh of the wheels to look more A13 like and ditched the lights and antenna. The wheels function properly in tests. I did start the camo job and added some initial markings. Maybe tomorrow the turret.
