  1. Heads up, Bil, as a fellow Allied player, I've had about a 40% immobilization rate in deep snow, 20% in regular snow. The only thing that seems to float over it is the Easy Eight and other vehicles with HVSS. I too have no experience with how the German kit handles deep snow. Historically, Panthers and Tigers should beat everything the Allies had for snow mobility, from what I've read.
  2. Thanks, Ian! What many folks don't know is that while this is a comic, and so a lot of effort is made to make it look a particularly way, the battle is real. Ian knows nothing about my forces, plans and so on. So please don't share anything with him!
  3. That you bring it up says a lot about just how immersive this game really is - it can feel incredibly real and we always want just that bit more. I think those desires are a good thing. Thank you.
  4. If you mean going from no snow to deep snow in the course of a battle, that won't happen. It's one of the reasons I mention the weather changing on January 7th, whereas the battle itself takes place on the 8th. See the next panels
  5. Haha! If I could put Christmas lights in the trees...you know I would...
  6. Thank you. Getting the atmosphere right on these first few pages was many hours work; I'm glad it succeeded!
  7. With the plans mentioned here, it's pretty safe to say all the CM families except CMBS will go to the end of the war as they are expanded upon.
  8. No, the lights were a way to illustrate the location of the Lieutenant's command post without pasting a label on it. Plus they look rather Christmasy, don't you think?
  9. I especially like the idea of trench foot! Haha! Chris is of course correct, there are things that I've done to make a comic that aren't in the game. You won't have windy text, and given wartime blackouts, there is no need to show lights! I didn't read Wayne's Bulge book, but I have both parts (and am waiting for his third) Katusha books. They are terrific!
  10. Final Blitzkrieg does sound pretty good, doesn't it? I like that BFC were able to be more imaginative than simply calling it Bulge.
  11. Looks great, Bil! The screenshots make it look really flat; it will be interesting to see what terrain features you will use to your advantage.
  12. The official announcement is coming, but this....er...communiqué...um...leaked out!
  13. A couple of things I'd add if you're interested in Battle Academy: 1. BA1 has a LOT more content than BA2 as it is older. However, the games both work the same, so BA1 is not poorer in quality from what I can tell. So it's not automatic that you'd want to skip 1 for 2 because they are extremely close, one is western and the second is eastern front. 2. If you have an iPad, these games are fantastic in that you can play anywhere you can bring it, versus carrying a laptop, or being tied to the desktop. The graphics are just as good and the UI is intuitive.
  14. I know! I can't stand what he's shovelling. Leaves me a drift. What a snow job!
  15. The web site is a PITA and my understanding is it will be revamped. The EULA allows you to install on two computers, and has 4 total activations (to account for replacing computers, etc). Each year another activation is added, and even if you run out of them BFC's Helpdesk will usually get you sorted out. Never heard of anyone ever being denied activations. So, tl;dr, you can install on two computers simultaneously.
  16. Heh - I know, right? The tricky devils keep getting themselves killed by HE before one can get then to surrender with units near to film!
  17. You might want to look at Battle Academy and Battle Academy 2. They exist for various platforms - PC, iOS, and are turn based, the scale is similar to Panzer Leader/Panzer Blitz, and while the tiles are not hexes, they do represent 8 rather than 6 possible facings for units. There is user content - maps and scenarios, as well as a fairly diverse (for BA 1, BA 2 is fairly new) amount of official content - campaigns, etc.
  18. oh absolutely, no wind in the Ardennes at all...unless you and I get together for a beer
  19. The low wall is flat. No angled roof for the snow to slide down and pile up.
