No, by training to a common standard so that all units integrate smoothly on the battlefield.  The question doesn't ask "what".  It asks "who" establishes a non-NATO EU army force training in a world where each separate country establishes its own national doctrine especially after Brexit.  France, Belgium, Germany, Norway, Denmark?  I'm asking what's the mechanism whereby a EU army agrees upon defined threat assessments and establishes the training doctrine to fight such wars.

Badger73 reacted to Bulletpoint in The Truelife* Mode PBEM DAR - RockinHarry German POV
To make text easier to read and understand:
1: Place the active verb in the first part of the sentence. German is often difficult to read because it places the verb very late.
"Far reaching artillery fire and advancing enemy forces, as assumed in the situation, are expected"
-> We expect the enemy to advance, supported by long-range artillery.
2: Write shorter sentences, and try to limit the amount of information each sentence carries. If there's a part of the sentence that's less important, skip it or place it at the end:
"Blue is deployed and goes from the southwest to attack the enemy, who, according to aircraft information in the early morning of June 21, has made their defense northeast of Zeitl-Baches"
-> Blue is deployed and attacks from the southwest. The enemy has prepared defences northeast of Zeitl-Baches (according to aerial recon from the early morning of June 21).
3: Be careful not to translate figures of speech too literally.
"Must important points first be taken in hand by the neighbors before our own attack promises success?"
-> "Do we need to wait for friendly forces to take key terrain before our own attack can succeed"?

    @IanL
Whenever is soon enough.  My intent is to build a "Scenario Designer Workshop" area on the TPGII Forum pages.  While I have a bunch of references to organize and post initially, the vision is an interactive forum where designers can reach out to each other and post their own scenario design tools as well.  No hurries.  No worries.

TPGII (http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/tpg2/) has suffered benign neglect lately.  I am in the process of developing a scenario designer's page at that site.  I have another 1-2 weeks worth of work to do before completing that.  I will post here when it is ready.  Good luck with your own scenario!

@Holdit- This is completed now.  The TPGII webmaster and I discovered that "No plan survives contact with the enemy" in scenario design either.  The Proving Grounds II does not effectively support a viable scenario design discussion forum.
Plan B - TPGII is affiliated with The Few Good Men which does possess robust forum discussion capabilities.  FGM now hosts a Scenario Designer's Workshop resources and discussion forum at FGM / Forums / COMBAT MISSION SECTION / CM2 Scenario Design Section
Anyone can view the information posted there.  However, you have to be a registered member of FGM to post comments and questions.  Please let @Bootie or me know what you think.  So, all designer's and those interested in combat mission scenario designer resources, "Cry 'Havoc' and let slip scenario's aplenty!"  Good luck and good game designing.

Badger73 reacted to Bootie in New CMMODS IV
    Hello Gentlemen
I had hoped to delay the announcement of this until the new CMMODS site was 100% finished and all the mods uploaded however due to circumstances I am pulling the announcement forward to... well now.
After recent discussions between GreenAsJade and Battlefront it has been decided to relocate the CMMODSIII site to fall under the umbrella of The Few Good Men where The Proving Grounds and The Scenario Depot already reside.
To this end work has begun on moving the modifications currently hosted at CMMODSIII to their new home at CMMODS IV.  As you can imagine this is a major job and will take a few weeks.  CMMODSIII will remain open until the full transfer has taken place so for now I request that no new mods be uploaded to CMMODSIII.
Within the next few days CMMODS IV will be opening the requests section for folk interested in becoming Creators (formerly Authors) and at this time the new upload process will be implemented.  This will be under the Instructions section of the new website but I will post in this thread to keep you all in the loop.
A few points about the new website worth mentioning... all files will now be held in cloud storage so even a catastrophic website crash will not impact any loss of modifications.  All files from the old CMMODSIII site will be relisted and recently with the help of @Erwin I have acquired approx. just shy of 300GB of modifications with quite a few that slipped through the net between the Repository and CMMODSIII transfer over 3 years ago.  So as you can imagine Im going to be very busy over the next few weeks.
Please do not subscribe to the new CMMODS IV just yet or you will be inundated with copious amounts of uploads... I think I uploaded over 100 today... you really don't want that many notification emails dropping in your inbox anytime soon!
In closing I want to thank Martin for all his sterling work over the years keeping CMMODS running and it's an honour to pick up the gauntlet where he left off.
Without further ado, here is the new site, still a work in progress but getting their quickly.

To illustrate Combatintman's answer above, here's an excerpt from the Canadian wartime manual "Infantry Training, Part I: The Infantry Battalion (Ottawa, H.M. Stationery Office, 1944)."

And even more! Company Commander's verbal orders in various tactical situations.

    Hello all,
About seven years ago the computer I was using to play CMSF1 had a severe crash and I lost everything associated with the game. I had several login names as I was purchasing these great games but over time I had forgotten them. I sent in a ticket to the Support Team and John really helped me. So, I just wanted to say thank you to him and the outstanding service he provided me. I just wish more of the gaming companies took care of their customers in the same way Battlefront does theirs.

Badger73 got a reaction from Bulletpoint in Turning your favourite wargame into a CM scenario
I approached "translating" boardgame scenario's to Combat Mission as follows:
Look for company/platoon level scenario's.  These are the ones which scale best to Combat Mission Look for scenario's with clear or easy to identify locations.  These will help me find a google or WWII era 2km x 2km terrain map from which I can make something matching the tactical lay of the land Look for scenario's with clear Orders of Battle whose units are available in Combat Mission.  These will help me build a balanced force mix. Look for scenario's with clearly defined mission objectives that can be achieved in 45-120 minutes of game time.  These will help me build good briefings and establish clear victory locations for game play. I think Squad Leader / Advanced Squad Leader provides the most fertile ground for this.  The challenge is determining which scenario's translate best to exciting CM designs.  I want to investigate Command Ops 2 as another possible source of inspiration as well after they release the pending "Patton's Charge/Bradley at Bay" module.

Not to turn the thread political, but it seems that in the US at least, people had more faith in their leaders back in the day.

There's a danger to being over-ambitious. Green scenario designers often dream big then become discouraged. If you've never built a CM scenario with proper AI orders before I suggest you first make up some tiny scenarios just for fun then play them to see if they work as you imagined. Then work your way up gradually 'til you can tackle your magnum opus.
