Ho do you get the actual weapon data. I just get the info that there is a hit and location. -
This scenario has an incredible amount of geographical detail. Gully's bumps etc making it very fun. Any other maps have this? So many seem to be pretty flat.

Wow, I did not know that. I got confused between Makarov and Tokarev. I am now fully wikipediad up and better informed. Hey, I have been near your home town. I loaded cargo on a ship in Helsinborg. I worked on ships for a decade, mostly cargoes out of and into the Baltic. -

To see that shell casing fly is what makes this game awesome! -
Same issue cropped up for me when I edited controls. Actually, I only looked at them, did not change them. Now space bar does the graphic quality. I will go for fresh install.

space bar menu still there. Works for me.

Thoroughly enjoying Red Thunder. Played the tutorial. Better graphics, noticeably better load speed. It just keeps getting better. Sure beats Steel Panthers.

Troops not staying behind walls
fatehunter replied to LukeFF's topic in Combat Mission Fortress Italy
Unlike Michael Emrys, it appears I am wrong. The description above did not occur in the past, so long as you approached a wall perpendicularly. If you approached at oblique angles, you could manipulate the facing to make it along the wall. If the case described above is done when approaching at right angles, then it is a degradation in behaviour from previous game iterations. -

It has always been there. The facing issue has nothing to do with a patch. If you are picky (like I am ) I always select the facing and manipulate it if the facing is not what I want it to be. This is particularly the case when moving parallel to a feature (hedge, wall, whatever) and then you want the squad to end up along the feature. Since the default position in in line with the direction of travel, it often is undesirable, so I manipulate it to what I want. This is not a defect or a bug. Do you really think an AI is going to figure out which way you want the squad to face after you have moved them? With multiple threats I am happy to have the choice to face the squad in the direction I want. -

use the facing command when giving the waypoint. Select the waypoint, then select the facing of the squad, you can move it around, however, NOT always to the way you want. This is for unsplit squads that take up more than one action square. Other option is to split squads -
diplomacy 101. The art of getting what you want by offending the other party as much as you can.

actual effects of losing tank commander
fatehunter replied to fatehunter's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Gentlemen, As the originator of this thread, I will be more specific, What are the 'in-game' and 'in-game' only effects of losing a TC. Do I consider the tank seriously degraded in ability with-out a TC. -

What about Civilian's in CM serie's

Partisan contribute greatly at times to the friction of war. Get enough friction and momentum changes. -
I worked on ships in europe for a decade. Going up the Loire river in France revealed huge u-boat pens still there. I went into Cherbourg, Fecamp, Dieppe, Oostende. Driving through Holland there were pillboxes in farmers fields. The history there send shivers down the spine.

Do you save and reload often?
fatehunter replied to Bulletpoint's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I reload all the time. It does not take away from the game. Because I just love to find out the perfect way to deal with a situation. I also play email H2H, so I get the other side of the coin too. Both ways are fun and interesting, and why I play this game. -
Lest we Forget, 6 June, 1944.
fatehunter replied to mjkerner's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
As I get into my 40's, I find it so amazing that society works in a way that gets young men to join up and kill others, just to satisfy the desires of those at the top. As I get older, the justification to fight has to get stronger and stronger before I would take up arms and march into someone elses country. Too bad we can't make the young wise.
