  1. Is that the very first turn? I think hit the red button and THEN you should see the VCR type controlls << < " X > >>
  2. I think this weekend, maybe starting Friday, I will be having a PBEM against @Heinrich505 and do posts and comments for a new battle involving this new mod. 23 May 1940. Les Attaques, France. A bridge along the Canal de Calais. The Germans are headed toward the channel ports to surround and crush the BEF. C Troop of the 1st Searchlight Battery, Royal Artillery, is dispatched to defend the bridge at Les Attaques...
  3. My 2 reichs-pfennigs of thoughts are that MAYBE this awesome work here gets him noticed and down the line he is recruited and brought into their fold, signing the NDA, becoming part of the harem or stable of scenario writers. Maybe he will get to do Kursk campaign when BFC releases CM Operation Citadel in 2043 or 2044.
  4. Maybe play it as a standalone scenario in scenario author mode. Observe that way too.
  5. 1. unpack the campaign and do an analysis 2. if that still leaves you guessing contact scenario author. ---> CardboardLion I think
  6. 1. Make sure the axis side has no remaining non-arrived reinforcements. 2. My 2 cent idea. Since this is the typical airborne arrived in the enemy's midst...set the axis escape direction to be towards the main area of allies. This might compound their sense of desperation and get Jerry to throw in the towel.
  7. ok, maybe later in the winter I swing back to CMRT stuff. I want to do Spanish Blue Division Mod and they were attacked by KV-1
  8. BEF1940 THE BRIDGE AT L'AVALETTE 1445, 25 May 1940. Approaching a bridge over the Canal d'Aire at L'Avalette; near Bethuny, France. A slight haze with a light wind from the east. You are the human player controlling the probe by elements of Rommel's 7th Panzer Division. The mission is to cross the bridge and clear the area on the far side. Occupy the objective. Sweep it clean of the British to obtain 500 points and win the battle. Herr General Rommel is angered at the delays experienced by the division in crossing the canal. Radio intercepts indicate we are confronted by the "Royal Irish Fusiliers". They are a British infantry division with limited support from their French allies. We can expect light anti-tank weapons and some variety of barbed wire or other obstacle. A small scout patrol has just approached the outskirts of the bridge. The rest of that rifle platoon follows close behind. At 5 minutes another rifle platoon with a demolition team is due to arrive - and finally a few panzers at 10 minutes.
  9. @Bootie I detected an error in one of my FR1940 Bronze scenarios. The scenario FR40A FRENCH TOAST REDUX has a bad set up. My error. Is there any way you can go in and pluck out the bad one and replace it with the below? If you have time sir. If not, all is well. Thanks and best wishes regardless. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/u22eg5y40f4xgfvrf3rn2/FR40A-FRENCH-TOAST-REDUX-V2.btt?rlkey=riko5zjl3i6wl9g8w074lnscq&dl=0 Or you can wait and I think here in a week or so I pass you the next installment of the mod. Maybe just do it then.
  10. I am trying to visualize it. Yeah, so it is different versus CM WW2 titles? So, maybe not a bug it is just modern 1980's view of formations? EDIT: If it really bugs you, here are some quick fixes. Option A is modtagged [portraitfix] and Option B is not modtagged so full time you just see the tank commander. Grab it if you want. No big deal. Pay it forward. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/dc229ic76sf807wg7ch2g/h?rlkey=kwb2dz8ijt0kitmc9h5gc5crd&dl=0
  11. note to self... 8. A13 Mk I, Mk II, & Mk II CS [Cruiser Tanks Mk III, Mk IVA, & Mk IVA CS]: The performance of the Russian BT tank sparked consideration of a much faster Cruiser, resulting in the A13 which was based on the same U.S. Christie tank that had inspired the BT— though the A13 omitted the latter’s abil- ity to be driven without tracks. Only 65 of the A13 Mk I were built, with all subsequent models having extra armor plates attached to the hull nose and the turret front and sides. This uparmored version was known as the A13 Mk II— or alternatively as the Cruiser Tank Mk IV or IVA, with the Mk IV having a water-cooled CMG and the Mk IVA an air-cooled CMG. 133 Mk IV and 172 Mk IVA (includ- ing a limited number of CS tanks) were built. While somewhat un- reliable, the A13 series nonetheless was the design foundation upon which all subsequent Cruisers were based. A13 types were used in the same manner as the A9 and A10 in France, Greece, and North Africa, forming the striking power of British armored divi- sions until replaced by the A15 Crusader. † A13 Mk II Dates and RF for ETO use are 5-6/40 (France; 1.2) and 4/41 (Greece; 1.3); for North Africa they are 12/40-2/41 (1.2), 3-6/41 (1.0), 7-8/41 (1.1), 9-10/41 (1.2), and 11-12/41 (1.3). For A13 Mk II CS use in the ETO they are 5-6/40 (France; 1.5) and 4/41 (Greece; 1.5); for North Africa they are 12/40-2/41 (1.5), 3- 5/41 (1.3), 6-8/41 (1.4), and 9-12/41 (1.5). See also British Vehicle Notes B (A13 Mk II only), K, N (A13 Mk II and A13 Mk II CS only), S (A13 Mk II CS only)
  12. I tried looking through the CMCW screenshot thread but after 5 pages it seems everybody is super disciplined to NOT show the UI. I guess just report it as a possible issue. Maybe just in QB or maybe elsewhere in regular scenarios? No idea!
  13. I will look for the mod and check it out. EDIT: Laurent is a good guy. He named it all perfect. That means it might be a game code error that "grabs the wrong bmp file" for the portrait and branch for certain formations purchased in a QB. You mean you saw the same exact image or the stock one is ALSO a non-tanker? If you saw the SAME exact image after pulling his mod from your z, I must ask if you restarted CMCW, (reloads z)...?
  14. I don't own Cold War but most of this CM stuff is all the same under the facade. If you want my help we can figure this out. Are those ugly *** green images the stock images or is this a mod? If it is a mod, then maybe the modder named them wrong. If stock then let us dig further. Go back to the purchase screen please. Is there an armor section, armored infantry (maybe Mechanized Infantry in the 1980's parlance), is there infantry? Did you purchase this as an armor battalion? If yes, then I would agree with you, I would sure think it would show the portrait of a tanker and the branch for armor. Do you know how to use RezExplode and delve into the brz files? We can go see and maybe figure out if an error occurred. Holler for me if you want my help. Otherwise, good luck to you brother -- I am headed back to the 1940's.
  15. @Falaise I made a BEF1940 gas mask for the ready position at the chest!
  16. No hurry Tim. Just PM me the comments and criticisms and I can try to improve it. It can always be improved I suppose. I might have 1 other scenario to pack with this part of the mod and then pass to Senor El Bootie.
  17. 1115, 21 May 1940. Along the Escaut Canal near Esquelmes, Belgium. A slight haze, light wind from the east. You are the human player controlling the counter-attack of the 3rd Battalion Grenadier Guards. The mission is to counter-attack and destroy the German bridgehead. Occupy the objective. Sweep it clean of Jerry to obtain 500 points and win the battle. Excerpts from the 3rd Bn. Grenadier Guards War Diary... **1940 May 21 **At 0730 hours a violent Artillery, Mortar and Machine Gun barrage fell on the whole of the 1st GUARDS BRIGADE front. **A determined enemy attack was launched at the point of junction of the Battalion and the 2nd Battalion COLDSTREAM GUARDS. **A crossing was forced and Machine Guns, Mortars and Snipers got across the river, infiltrating on the left, and forced our men back as far as the PONT A CHIN road. **The open country held by our forward Companies was completely under enemy observation, and every movement made by our troops was dogged by accurate Machine Gun and Mortar Fire. **Seeing that the situation was serious the Battalion Commander went forward in a Carrier and made a recce on the spot as there was no post from which he could see what was happening. **As a result, No. 3 Company was ordered to counter attack and regain No. 4 Company’s position. Supported by one Section of Carriers under Lieutenant H. REYNELL-PACK and this attack went in with great dash at 1130 hours The platoons of No. 3 Company (reserve force) have been ordered to the start line west of the PECQ - PONT A CHIN ROAD. 7 Platoon has already arrived and can be repositioned in the dark blue set up zone. 8 and 9 Platoon will arrive in that same area at 5 and 10 minutes respectively, more or less centered on the map. You can shift the axis of the attack as you desire. Finally, the carriers are being fueled and will be in position at 1130 in the south-west corner of the map. NOTE: The Germans are attempting to reinforce the bridgehead. You must decide to either wait for the carriers or to press onward now with 7 Platoon. A few men from No. 4 Company are still trapped down by the canal bank, most likely in rough shape.
  18. Map is 99% done. AI plan #1 written for the Germans. I am playing it in scenario author mode and really enjoying it. Making tweaks as I see what needs tweaked. Shaping up nice. Tomorrow morning I crank out a briefing and a TACMAP. In a few days I can release it. "Another banger" Unless someone volunteers to playtest it first.
  19. I will have to look at some things I exported and see if I have this issue. I am a rank amateur with Blender and sometimes feel amazed I get anything to work.
  20. I can open mdr files in Blender, you could too if you download the right version of Blender and the special CM mdr plug-in. It allows you to see the parent-child relationships. I do use HxD to change the names of the texture files for a mdr. I can pull off some nice tricks doing that. I have had fun and moderate success editing the mds uniform files. But messing with mdr files is a ton of fun.
  21. Go boy go! Who needs a girlfriend the next few months? You got CM and plenty of old smelly 50-something forumites to hang with. ~~~~~~~~~ I don't say that I ever make "Arisian" quality vehicle mods but slapping some unit decals on various vehicles is no big deal for me. PM me what specific CMBN vehicles and what you want on them and what modtag to use. MY ADVICE: Fight hard that the project doesn't inflate and burst from aspirations of grandiosity.
