  1. Alrighty, I am assisting @Kuli with his mod idea of CMBN 12th SS HJ soldiers famously wearing an Italian camo pattern coveralls. Kuli asked to use the British battledress mds 3D model. I set up a folder in CMBN z and label it "kuli mod" and bring there the 3D model smod_british_m37.mds file and make a copy too. Keep a copy there always as you screw up it is handy to delete the bad one and start fresh. The same with the mds you are "taking over"...I decided to use smod_german_m43-ankleboots.mds. Make a copy there in the working folder just in case. Open up the smod_german_m43-ankleboots and the smod_british_m37 next to each other in HxD. 2 tabs. m37 gets edited. But m37 is renamed as smod_german_m43-ankleboots [kuli]. I have swapped all the gear I could doing normal cut and paste in HxD hex editor software. I think the mds file has an index number of the gear slots somewhere and I have a maximum number I can paste over? @Jace11. At first I did something really aggressive and tried to paste a HUGE block. It loaded the game to 97% and was unresponsive as it didn't like what I tried. After that I went slowly with "one for one" swaps. The priority is the ammo pouches and I pasted in these. 2 for rifle, 2 for SMG, 1 for Auto rifle, LMG kit, pistol holster, breadbag cluster left and right, horizontal poncho, horizontal gasmask can, shovel-bayonet combo. Maybe a few others I forget. 15 total.
  2. Nobody chimed in. Not a single entry. Surprise! Mr. E.R. Bradshaw was not an actual forumite. So I get all the whizzo butter! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Return to seriousness. The scenario editor details are noteworthy of how I have crafted the German infantry force. Anyway, for anybody out there interested in making CMRT seem more early war @Artkin @Suchy here is what I did. I set date to May 1945. Quality to poor. Purchased a shifstamm kriegsmarine battalion! I only needed a company size force so I deleted out a bunch of stuff. The mod turns them into German infantry. Return date to June 1944. Region is Soviet Union. I get 99.9% LMG34. No rifle grenades. I don't see any G41 or G43. I have only 2 or 3 panzerfaust 30 or 30k among the company. Go to those squads and detach an anti-tank team. You lose 2 riflemen but they take the panzerfaust and you can use an exit zone filter near the axis set up zone to pull them out of the scenario early.
  3. An attempt to take advantage of the CMRT Soviet side having NCO slots that can have different uniforms versus the regular soldiers.
  4. NEW PROJECT ALERT @Kuli CMFI FJ will wear the British shorts uniform step 1 is we rename that mds to be what the FJ normally wear. CHECK (Very easy to do) This just changes the 3D model shape. They will look very ugly as they are still being dressed in the uniforms, boots and skins of the normal mds for FJ You trick the game code by taking the proper bmp's for shorts and renaming as FJ uniforms for "the set" (soldiers, nco's, officers at 3 levels) For the shorts there is another element of the gnarly leg haired bastard skins with forearms too. You gotta have the files of German skins to match what is needed. Maybe boots too need renamed. THEN AFTER ALL THIS ART BMP FILES ARE RENAMED AND SHOW PROPERLY IN GAME - CAN BE REWORKED TO LOOK GERMAN IN GIMP or PHOTOSHOP. THEN we can go into the mds and add back the German gear. Long ago I had the Italians in British shorts.
  5. I swung by CMMODS and the France 1940 mod has 763 views and 7 likes. How many downloads? No idea. It has been a long while since Heidi asked for help. Here she is!
  6. Slowly bringing over the French houses and various flavor objects. Right there as I arrived, the communists hit me up for a donation to the Party Retirement Fund...
  7. well, NOW it is fine. The hotseat line is there now and works as usual. I coulda swore I hit the hotseat line before and got the PBEM++. But it could be the 106F outside. All is well. Thanks
  8. I have brought over my PanzerKampfwagen I's to the CMRT France 1940 mod.
  9. This new patch is for PBEM++ and it seems I can no longer play a relaxed hotseat versus myself as I test a scenario. It wants me to register or something? @chuckdyke Cheeky Dyke? You do a lot of hotseat I recall. Is this a hassle for you? I tried to cancel out but it locked up and gave me an error message. Any words of wisdom?
  10. Apples and oranges. We have mdr files for flavor objects and gear and buildings and vehicles and YES they can be combined and edited and we have a lot we can do like Horsa glider. The uniforms are the mds file format and we have no way currently to mess with them that I know of. BFC will not allow it and the hacker code brain "Stan Bobovyc", who deserves a trophy/prize/medal got us into mdr files is busy elsewhere and it is a lot of work beyond my brain to accomplish. Maybe some day. EDIT: Damn, one thing I must say is that I don't own the modern titles and so what exact mds uniforms exist over there is unknown to me. I doubt they have rolled up sleeves shirt with long pants tucked into combat boots - but you never know. I suggest you hit those guys up.
  11. The British have 1 uniform with short sleeves and Bombay bloomers short pants
  12. The current answer is no. AFAIK, @sbobovyc never had time to crack the code on making a Blender plug-in to import the CM BFC mds file format. Uniforms are mds files. I can tinker with gear entries in a hexeditor but I cannot change the 3D model mesh to ADD rolled up sleeves.
  13. Another tip... Since at this point you have tried the battle quite a few times as axis attacker. Maybe give it a try as "hotseat 2 players versus yourself". You can play the allied side as more or less static but on guard for the enemy approach. If you did want to try my approach, maybe try the right flank (you copy cat!). As allies, you can see the effectiveness of your axis barrage. You can see if your Germans are easy to spot as they make the approach to be ready to final assault the barbed wire and enter the trenches. It can be educational.
  14. Alrighty, I will take the bait. First of all, I am no tactical genius. But I have been around a while playing CM. SOILERS AND SPOILERS I approached/entered the trenches far on my left flank. I did this in conjunction with a delayed arrival area barrage. Getting the barrage set up on the first orders opportunity is very useful. After that, you MUST have line of site if you have no TRP's. But then plan on your first few turns to move that platoon HQ in so it DOES have LOS to the barrage area. Makes it accurater. Is that a word? Split your squads up into 2 teams so they move in smaller groups. SPREAD OUT!! Yes sarge... I moved the HMGs up center leftish and rightish for overwatch and used the sniper as the probe sacrificial iron cross recipient who crossed the creek stream and got some spots. Make note of your delay when the barrage will arrive. 30 minute battle. I think my barrage said it needed 9 minutes to get going. Keep checking this and everybody has ear comms like a SEAL TEAM. Get your guys over there but not too close. Demo charge dudes are back a bit until needed. Slow crawl up but then let them catch their breath. IT WORKED! But the scoring is hosed I am sorry to say as I got 200 points for the bunkers but so did the US side? "What the fudge?" EDIT: No, I am wrong. The scoring is fine. I misread what I was looking at. I took too many casualties to get the total victory is what happened. I will post some screenshats here in a bit. @Thatguy Thanks for asking about this as I had never even tried this scenario. It is my size scenario for sure. Best wishes to you as you enjoy this great game.
  15. A newly arrived forumite reported a building texture issue. @ZarasthutaMG42 a file naming error was spotted and fixed. Here is the repaired file you can grab and put in your CMRT z folder. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/4k81ubcydxhhc5ghygik5/building008-roof-02-germany-snow.bmp?rlkey=c9l8mbwd8vd5qhairn05f373e&dl=0
  16. You are very welcome. It took a few hours but I had breakfast with the grandkids and did a few other chores in parallel. Oh, another thing to clarify in case you are scratching your head. In the CM titles there can be regions selected in the editor. For CMRT this is Soviet Union, Eastern Europe and Germany. Hungary did not make the cut to be a region I guess. But it is a modtag [hungary]. So, the files for that little house just had [snow germany] because the scenario author set region as Germany even though it is fought in Hungary. The independent houses might not be 100% perfect for Hungary circa 1944 but oh well. Stores and shops have a modtag of [hungary] because the art is done to show Hungarian words on the stores. Roadsigns too. So endeth the lesson
  17. The one thing about a saved campaign in progress is that you might be stuck with that damn original no snow roof. I am not sure. Let me know if you load your save and that roof is still messed up. But on a fresh start, with my fix in z, the roof now looks goodly covered in virgin white snow. Best wishes to you "Zar"! ~Phil
  18. Congratulations! You exploded your first brz file. Piece of cake. Yeah, I been doing this a long while so I have knowledge you do not YET. I had to look at your screenshot and then poked my head into the folders one after another until I saw the exterior wall style and then saw the roofs. The file was like this and to me stood out like a sore thumb. building008-roof (02 [germany snow] It was missing the closing paren ")" So it defaulted to the no snow roof. I fixed it. building008-roof (02) [germany snow] I looked in the campaign and those folks NOW have wonderful attic insulation. Here is the repaired file you can grab and put in your CMRT z folder. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/4k81ubcydxhhc5ghygik5/building008-roof-02-germany-snow.bmp?rlkey=c9l8mbwd8vd5qhairn05f373e&dl=0
  19. I led you astray with v210c as it ended up being in v210b. But that is the way it works sometimes as you "hunt" down the file. Trial and error. Especially when just going from looking at a scenario in 3D!
