Is the Rolling Thunder scenario in full game?
Tempestzzzz posted a topic in Combat Mission Black Sea
I enjoyed the demo-just want to extend the time and play with different force mixes in that particular scenario once I get the full game with it's editor. -
Russian army under equipped?

"The beginning of a war is like opening a door to a dark room. One never knows what is hidden." -Adolph Hitler -
Lotsa picture of wrecks. More then a few iconic images and old chestnuts that you have seen BUT with the missing sequence photos (PANTHER "Ursula" string is one example). Some pretty grim (Berlin). Don't know how I missed this site. Very Groggy (in a nice way)-hung up on where brackets are located on some obscure PaKAUFgh mK4 something-or-other. You could lose an evening here. http://www.network54.com/Forum/571595

Azimuth for STINGER manpad position
Tempestzzzz replied to Tempestzzzz's topic in Combat Mission Black Sea
Yes-I know. Standing orders Nobody leaves the Bradley without the JAVELIN. NOBODY! I wish there was default "Grab a Handful of JAVELINS before EXIT" Kornets and Javelins don't ricochet. I also suffer from 'Laser Spook' "Did you see that?" "Yeah-I detected the laser to!!! BACK UP! BACK UP!!! D@MN IT!! BACK UP!!!" -
Azimuth for STINGER manpad position
Tempestzzzz replied to Tempestzzzz's topic in Combat Mission Black Sea
Okay-Thanks. I just have been playing the demo scenario ROLLING THUNDER Getting the hang of using F.O's, artillery, drones, positioning units for cover. I haven't played that scenario to the end-just as a training tool. So I play the opening segment concentrating on one system at a time. One item that I'm trying to nail down is STINGER placement. I know they have to have a view just trying to figure which angle. But if you say all-aspect then I just have to have clear shot. I have shot down HINDS-but not as many as I would like. It was so much safer in the hills of Italy, bocage of Normandy and facing the Syrian Army. At least you had a chance they would miss once. :^/ -
Do I want my men to be positioned to take on HINDs at the Russians attack helo 6 O'clock since it's infrared homing??? Or are the latest Stingers ALL azimuth? I pretty much made up my mind I have to have these man-pads exposed-just a question of what direction should I anticipate the attack and best way to take advantage of direction of attack.

It really looks nice. You got everything. I mean after you get a mosque what else do you need an Sdkfz 250 with Grief painted on the side.? You know if you can get that copula problem solved for the Mosques (copula doesn't show in FI or Normandy)-you can open a Central Asia mod up for Black Sea. HAHAHAHA I've lived in Arizona, Panama and Hawaii-palm trees can get quite tall depending on the type. Royal Palms can get easily 2 stories tall. The one in my back yard is 1 1/2 stories. I've seen some outside Luke AFB, AZ easily 4 stories. What is posted here looks natural to me. Don't forget cactus and aloe from FI.

Do you guys think North Africa will ever come?
Tempestzzzz replied to lordhedgwich's topic in Combat Mission Fortress Italy
I tried importing a mosque building (the small one from Shock Force)-but sadly the dome portion of the roof doesn't show. Palm Trees from SF didn't look great either. Really it wouldn't take much to make North Africa. -
I love using the RAVEN UAV in BF Black Sea and while I know an L2 Grasshopper or Feisler Storch are not the almost God Like eye-in the sky a modern UAV is I certainly can see their use on the BIG Maps in WWII scenarios. And of course the US and Germans have there quad-50's and 20's to act as counter measures. It's not like the new game engine can't support it. FWIW. The observer aircraft spots anything it doesn't have to be an exact vehicle observed-just a n icon with a question mark sometimes.

Compiling and existing opened stock campaign
Tempestzzzz replied to Tempestzzzz's topic in CM Normandy Maps and Mods
Going to take a look at this-getting ready for a trip though. But I will get back. Thanks Mad Mike. Yeah I suspected the "#" or "_" fonts were playing havoc on my investigation on my script. RockinHarry-I'm not at all sure now that simple and short training campaign was the right campaign to play with. Last night I download -per the link in this string ScAnCaDe and will play with that. However it is heartening to read that the answer to my original question if you can recompile an original campaign is yes-it can be done. UPDATE; Success-using MadMikes CAM script and ScAnCaDe. And why not-these Keys to the Kingdom worked before of course. But now I know I can do it. [Just change the length of all these simple scenarios to 3 hrs-and the change stayed] Experience has it's function. I believe my error in the past was using the # and _ special characters as pointed out (I'll just use letter font from here out.) And using ScAnCaDe to decompile -since I have all the CM module and everything is up to 3.11. I appreciate the comments and advice and observations from all. -

Hey kohlenklau. I've seen your work and you took it further then I ever could. I lurk here more then I post. So many games -so little time-BattleFront, and a bunch of other brands (indies and STEAM) who will remain nameless. Just eat into my time now. Messing with campaigns CM and mess around with the Black Sea Demo (I like). Hope you are on the road to Wellville!!! -

I just decompiled the training campaign. 3 training missions and changed the time. I wanted to see how the utility work, if I could do a simple edit (time modification) and then recompile. Then try more complicated campaigns and edits later. Baby steps. I kept getting error messages but figured out the syntax error in the CAM file. I Used the example of the CAM file in the manual only using the name of the scenario instead of "My Little Battle." The base scenario was the first scenario regarding movement Devon - Basic Training #00.btt -

Thanks-I did a CAM scrip file and I don't get error messages (after several error filed attempts). But I must have something missing in the script since it doesn't create the Campaign file. -

Yeah I'm using something like that. It extracts the files fine. And the tool you mentioned does the same thing. BUT-can you reassemble-compile the files back into a campaign? -

I recently open the stock Training Campaign in CM: Normandy using CMBN_Scenario_Organiser_v0.22 downloaded from the repository. Also played around building CAM scripts. Correct me I'm wrong-I CANNOT recompile and opened campaigned using the aforentioned utility using the CM Editor because Scenarios in already made campaigns are considered 'baked'. I can adjust time, forces and such in the scenarios but I CANNOT Re-compile them again. I can only do that with new scenarios? Correct? -
Going to pass on this winter Blitzkrieg. I'm pretty underwhelmed by it. Kieme(ITA) and Wiggum 15 pretty well covered it for me.

Kohlenklau in Hospital
Tempestzzzz replied to mjkerner's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Very nice fellow answered his questions on modding a ways back. Kohlenklau here's hoping you have a speedy recovery and getting back to your family soon. -
FWIW Height change of the tank commanders works in FORTRESS ITALY (TIGER VI only in that game) and BATTLE FOR NORMANDY dealership scenarios with the TIGERS. Don't own RED THUNDER.

announcement New CM:BN master installers!
Tempestzzzz replied to Moon's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Like Holman I to have bought all the modules piecemeal. Do I use the new installer for the base game? Then what for the other modules ? -
I want one of each for Christmas. GOLIATH (WHAT were they thinking!) BORGWARD (The demolition charge is in the nose-it's in the trapezoid shape nose that slides off the vehicle at the delivery point and vehicle backaway. Videos deserve their own string.

Are GOLIATHS ever going to make the lineup?
Tempestzzzz replied to Tempestzzzz's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
John my BEST guess is-and it took awhile looking at searchlight and radar trailers is that it is a *drumroll* Trailer for a FLAK range finder-with the optics removed. eine German Telemeter KDO Mod.40 w/Sd.Anh 52 Trailer (Kommandogerat 40). Notice it has 'leaf platforms folded up. That's what gave it away. Searchlight and radar trailers don't have this. http://thegreatcanadianmodelbuilderswebpage.blogspot.com/2012/03/german-telemeter-kdo-mod40-wsdanh-52.html Modeling forum has a picture of an actual one and various angles on the models. http://www.militarymodelling.com/forums/postings.asp?th=63623 I know the Germans used GOLIATHS in Warsaw to take out buildings containing Poles fighting them during the uprising. Also used the BORGWARD. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borgward_IV .
