  1. Hiding behind the buildings won't help. Bill has so much firepower just blasting the buildings will make the walls 'come tumbling down' on the paras red berets.
  2. And there it is. You would have had a victory had you not been handicapped, rolled and robbed by the historical TO&E when making your choices. Why given the circumstances the same results would happen to Bill if you had Bill's sexy, Fascist armored vehicles and Bill had been equipped with those pokey old Austins your para were foisted with. No this just won't do. The results were preordained.. I would move for a rematch after this exercise is over to prove once and for all who is the Master of the Battlefield.
  3. But your on the good side of history. Surely that is a force multiplier. They'll be a virtual Knighthood if you pull this off. Remember-if it's a draw You can still declare Victory because-well because you're John Bull. Draw, losses and Total defeats are for your opponent. And Victory-do you really want to pay the owner of the damaged windmill? You break the pottery-you buy it. You see Lad-I've shown you the way out. This is the 21st Century. You don't have to be victorious YOU JUST HAVE TO SURVIVE. Victory has gone the way of chivalry and rules of ettiquette Go for the Bronze medal and then say something about game bugs or your opponent using the edge of the map unfairly, tip over the game table, shoot the lights out and duck to the exit knowing full well it's his tale against yours.
  4. I think it's a bug-but here is food for thought. 155's use bagged ammunition-so maybe the game counts the 24 propellent bags -not the shells 24HE and 24 Smoke.
  5. Yup and in the hex file there is gibberish. You would need the SDK. Still the Parisian signs give any modder out there ideas for individual signs in town landscapes.
  6. One word of caution if you play PBEM or F2H Your opponent must have these same signs on his machine otherwise the game defaults to some generic flavor object on his machine. Really looks great kohlenklau! Now for your next assignment From LIFE Magazine-Paris 1942 or thereabouts
  7. The Americans made a movie on C3K's action at the windmill. Bit of a hot potato though. To spare sensibilities of our English Cousins and preserve that 'Special Relationship' and all that-they changes the locale, army and names. Trailer. Can you guess who Captain Cooney is.
  8. I sent you this sign (bmp format) and the edges are squared. You should be able to mount it on the SHOCK FORCE flavor signs I sent you. http://www.desertstorm1991.com/images/EXPO/BastogneSign.gif
  9. Use your art program and edit the picture. It's a copy and paste exercise. I'll see what I can do.
  10. Looks like Bill took out your screenshot posting capability. Maybe one of his HQ command halftracks are jamming your bandwidth. Upgrade to Pro and 'burn' through his jamming.
  11. I have to agree on your observations-but I have been to Italy several times and in the South things-even when rundown look cleaner. It is very hot and dry [and dusty]. In Europe up north you have 4 seasons which is hard on buildings.
  12. ////// MOST SECRET////// -----FROM: SHAEF HQ----- -----GEN MONTGOMERY------ ////What is going on in Holland MARKET GARDEN OPERATION///// /////????////repeat////What is going on ????////Losses are unacceptable/// ////Please report to SHAEF HQ to render full report to SUPREME COMMANDER. 13. He has those lumbering Panthers and Jagds-but you have the jeep. Mobility is your friend. Let speed and surprise be your armor. Tactical innovation is also an ally.
  14. Hi Kohlenklau: I sent you 2 e:mail messages in reply to your PM. I'm on travel right now. I suspect-and I'm doing this off the top of my head the MDR (?) file is not referencing the proper Jpeg. Your questions is easy to answer-but I did this months ago and need to look at my work files to jog my memory. If that's the case it's a simple hex or Notepad ++ edit of changing the JPEG number in the MDR file. http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=106961 The mediafiles are reference are no longer there. Also if I recall the jpeg has to be reveresed backwards in order for it to be oriented properly in the game.
  15. "After the Battle - THEN & NOW: Dutch Windmill Debacle" There is a run down and ivy covered seldom-visited chapel in the Dutch countryside. On it's west wall is stained glass panel. The panel -dedicated to the brave c3k Para's who died so other could live.
  16. "Honey your square looking trucks and all your men got these red crosses on them now. What does that mean?"
  17. Will the maps have polder? If so how will they effect movement. I didn't see it listed so I imagine not. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polder
