  3. I just added your trigger tutorial to the FAQ thread. I have no idea why I didn't think of that at the time you wrote it... Oversight fixed.
  4. Yeah! What @Mord said. This place is awesome - the vast majority of the time. I agree 100% with @Mord about the handful of people who post on other boards about how bad this one is. It is utterly ridiculous. Anyone can read these forums and those and see which is better. There are other good places to discuss things for sure (the few good men for example) but there ares some just insane ones (game squad as an extreme example it is basically just one guy insulting Steve from time to time). I'm sorry this place has a low tolerance for slagging, nonconstructive criticism, thin skin and deliberately misleading readers. Oh wait - no I'm not
  5. Steve has said in the past he does not want CM to turn in to CM Med Evac or CM Military Police - hence the abstraction of POWs and the evacuation of injured. I wonder if the department of defence contracts will change that at all.
  6. Hey if guys can get in and be driven around and the vehicle can shoot an MG then hatches and stuff are just gravy. Cool
  7. LOL predictable. In fact I am sure you predicted that too. Sometimes it suck to be right.
  8. It does seem hard when you read it. You should force you self to read everything you can but if you wanted to make some quicker progress I would follow along with chapter 16 of the book from the install - its only 6 pages The best part is you can follow along with your scenario and likely come out with a plan that at least does something. Then you can experiment and read more to make it better.
  9. Yep, things are not intentionally done to break old saves. Sometimes stuff happens. This latest CMRT patch was one of those times.
  10. There are a few sources of AI programming information: - start with the manual - then look at the PDF "A Scen Design AAR PDF Book" that ships with the game (it is based on this thread: http://community.battlefront.com/topic/109190-the-sheriff-of-oosterbeek-–-a-scenario-design-daraar/) and - the FAQ thread has a section on various scenario design topics (http://community.battlefront.com/topic/125783-the-cm2-faq-thread/)

  12. Yes, what @rocketman said. Not one actually plays by email. We still call it that but we use Dropbox to share files. So the blitz and the few good men are the servers where you find opponents and Dropbox is the server that shares the files
  13. You have the latest. Version 2.02 engine 4 is the latest version for CMRT. Yeah you are out of luck with the new version I'm afraid. You can install an older version along side the latest. If you have the older install files around. Just make sure you point the installer to a different directory and now you have two playable versions on your machine.
  14. What version were they saved with. Typically they should load but there was a problem with loading old saves recently but I forget the details.
  15. Yep, that is it. Fixed for mech infantry and armoured but not for infantry.
  16. Well that's embarrassing - my memory sucks. I confirmed the issue is there in 4.02. OK not quite so embarrassing then. This did get reported and marked as fixed. Clearly it is not - I have reopened it.
  17. I thought that was fixed? What version of the game are you running?
  18. Sounds good. I have no doubt you will get to the bottom of how to reproduce this.
  19. Correct - what I said. The M18 has the target light command.
  20. FYI I just tried to reproduce this in 2.12. No luck. I had 18 BRT 4Es firing at the woods and then at hedges and then at buildings. For over a minute on each target. At the end they all had their two missiles still ready to use on a proper target. Yes, my back log is long
  21. Volunteer tester. I don't have to be right - like. I said most likely I'm not. As a tester I have an interest in trouble shooting things. So BFC knows this is happening / has happened. They cannot fix what they don't know about.
  22. You heard it here folks - there is hope for a CM 2x North Africa game. At least that's how I choose to interpret the highlighted portions of Steve's quote
  23. This reminded me of something I saw with your intell scenario with CMBS: if I started and saved the scenario without the modified flavour objects installed no matter what after that the saved game always used the wrong flavour object even after installing the flavour object mods. But if I started a new game after installing the mods everything was as expected. Clearly this is not exactly the same but I wonder if the pattern and root cause are similar. If you: 1) place flavour objects and then 2) later install a flavour object mod and 3) use some modded flavour objects then 4) some before the mods were installed flavour objects get confused and substituted. It doesn't really address the randomness of the replacement and I don't know why it would do that but it is a hypotheses.
