Quick Maps vs Scenariios
A Canadian Cat replied to Canada Guy's topic in CM Final Blitzkrieg Maps and Mods
Wait are you saying, @Boomkow, that in the QB force selection screen I can assign AI groups myself? And they are respected in the QB battle? -

Oh I did not realize your mods were not there already. Do the links in your mod thread still work? -

The existing mods for tracers and flames and the like from the other titles work in CMBS. @Kieme(ITA) has created a series of vehicle mods in collaboration with @BTR that are excellent. Look for @Kieme(ITA)'s thread in this forum. -
Is FB more optimized than the others?
A Canadian Cat replied to Nercon's topic in Combat Mission Final Blitzkrieg
So am I reading this correctly? It sounds like you are saying you want to see higher frame rates. That you just expect that the fps number should be higher. -

So, I really think that your machine might have something off about it. Because I have played a game in CMBN with multiple battalions (I had two) in a large map (I forgot exactly but I think it was 3x5 with lots of elevation changes and lots and lots of forest). On max settings it did drop below 20fps many times but I was amazed at how well it did. As I moved around the map to give orders there where times when the camera panning and keyboard controls were sluggish but it was not all the time and much of the time the fps were above 20. For anything else I run with the best settings and do not experience sluggishness or hesitation. When i measuer the fps it goes between 25 and 35 or 40. The feel of the game controls is fine and the play back is smooth. Right, I do not normally see 60fps. But I don't care, what I care about is that the camera and mouse controls work smoothly anyway. I see too places where there are disconnects. One is those of us that are OK with the performance are OK with 20-30 fps, as long as the mouse and keyboard controls creat smooth camera panning. For me the feel of the controls is how I measure my satisfaction not by a fps measure. Second many of us do seem to be getting better fps numbers than you are reporting. It sounds like there is something in your configuration that is causing a slow down. Or something in mine and others that is speeding us up. -

I have a feeling that differing perspectives is what is driving this frustrating debate. For me I do not regularly monitor the fps. U do not measure my happiness over performance by watching the fps. I do it by is the game animation smooth? Is the camera panning smooth? Is the keyboard control smooth? And the fact is it is for me the vast majority of the time. Sure if I push a scenario with a lot of units or a huge map there can be issues. I can play the largest shipping scenario s consistently with good performance. My rig can do that no problem. It is a less capable rig than @AstroCat's . it is an i5 with an NVidia 760 and 16Gb of memory now running Windows 10. -
How to play Combat Mission?
A Canadian Cat replied to Imperial Sardaukar's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Yep, and all the modules are installed too. All you have to do is acivate the ones you bought, there is a short cut in the programs group to activate a module. -

Yeah, things change. I use a program called FRAPS. Gives you the ability to screen grab, capture video and measure frame rates. -

Why The Face? The people saying that they have good performance are not seeing those kind of low frame rates. I don't measurebate but when I do run a frame rate counter it does not drop below 20 and mostly stays at 30. And the camera pans smoothly. And I play plenty of big scenarios. -
Quick Maps vs Scenariios
A Canadian Cat replied to Canada Guy's topic in CM Final Blitzkrieg Maps and Mods
You need to add AI plans. Have a look at an existing QB map but this time look at the AI plans. The tac AI is used by both the player and the AI and its job is to control the individual soldiers and find them cover, targets and decide if the should cower or run when things go bad etc. The player issues orders to get them to move towards the objectives. Similarly the AI needs an ai plan to get them moving to the objectives. -
No you guessed incorrectly. I have never heard of it and I was hence making a bit of fun over you calling it famous. I never said I was against anything just trying to learn more and so far I don't see you sharing anything that would help anyone understand what it is, how it works or if it is appropriate here in any way. LOL last time i was in a theater i was a bit disapoited at the size of the screen actually And no I am not talking about sometime in the 90's I mean last month

Famous? I have never heard of it. Do you mean watching a movie in a theatre? Or are you talking about the behind the TV lamp described in the wikipedia link that @Bud_B posted?

Log into your store account and go to the download link for the 3.0 upgrade. That will be the new all in one install. -
Argeed if that is it I don't really see how it would help. In general I agree. There are times when I am trying to get a good screen shot that I wish the the background would continue lower.

LOL, nice summary @Kieme(ITA). And thanks for the kind words.
