When trying to maneuver near a tank that owns the ridgeline etc. is it worthwhile dropping some extra ordinance on the tank like mortars in order to make the tank commander close up the hatch .. does this really limit there sighting ...

With Combat Mission 1 revolutionized wargaming, wargaming enjoyment, the community .. anyway there was a key to press when a unit is clicked on to see more info about the unit including kills etc.

I wish there was a way to edit campaigns but I think it is to complicated to do so one has to maybe explode it then re ez explode it or something but with the Editor one can edit a Scenario so as to make a scenario more "forgiving" (even though you spoke of campaigns) but with a scenario you can edit it and give it more turns or something you could even for example if you are playing a company sized engagement just give your side another BATTALION of Units and see how you do then .. lol

Ok so I need the module(s) so that is CW and MG ... thats another 65.00 I bought the game Normandy then the 2.0 upgrade I think that was 10 then the 3.0 upgrade - probably should get the modules but actually I am fine with playing para QB's in June and July ... but since you lean towards the Complete Game I guess you jumped on the vehicle pack when it came out too. which I guess was Friday oct 24th then you got the 3.0 when it came out. BUT CM is your preferred Game so more power to you Its great they come out with a lot of content kind of like Panzer Corps and all of their add ons .................................................................................

Doug's graphic looks like one of my relatives in the morning - I ran into some anti tank guns on the last QB battle I played and luckily I flanked around them with my tanks avoiding any hits but dang my infantry screened them out of the thick woods they were in prior to my tanks moving up ... ... so I'm maneuvering my Platoon around to make sure there are no surprises in the woods ... being all tacful and stuff ... then I luckily surprise an anti tank gun we supress it and grenade it but then some of em run off - the anti tank crew and as we pursue they freak my VETERAN and +1 leadership guys out they start pow pow pow with the pistols killing and pinning my guys then the last guy runs off and finally we get him but not until he scares the guns out of the hands of some of my stud troopers. so uh yeah they are better ...

When you are reading forum posts and falling in love with the info one way to, but not necessarily the best way, but what I like to do is to click on the printer icon at the bottom and then WHAM its in printer format - DO NOT PRINT IT - unless you want to but you may get reams of paper printing .... What you can do is to highlight those posts you like and then copy them into your word processor like microsoft word and then save them to your harddrive If you are unaware how to do this well this is another post I will light a candle for you OOOPs that attachment is whacked just click on save (after you double click on the attachment) and you will see it in a more easily viewable window thing

My Peeve regarding paratroopers is that in well, 1st of all I only have Normandy Base GAME no modules BUT, in Quick Battles I can only use or get to pick Battalion sized paratroopers if I specify the months of June and July in Augusta I get nothing and in September I get only like forward observer Formations .. I am referring to Formations. One must pick a formation as we all know first then they can kind of tweak it. BUT, But I think they did this because when two people play head to head this prevents one or the other of doing something but regarding realism the paras were around for oh I don't know uh BASTOGNE (spelling ??) and that was in oh I don't know November December ... I mean when ya set rarity to NONE then nothing should be rare or omitted no matter what month it is as long as it was in exhistance in the prior month I never play the game I just use it enough to find something to complain about ...

Ok so I deleted the .brz everything works fine here is before and after of C drive Before After I still get the greyed out battles and stuff but I figured out I need to delete those respective battles and stuff from the folders they are in for example in the Battle folder it lists all of the battles and the ones with CW and MG I just need to delete .... have not done this but will in future this will probably fix it

Yeah I guess its not big deal I still have some harddrive space but it does annoy me because I am so fragile and easy to annoy .... but anyway, when I click on battle, Campaign, and or go to pick a Quick Battle map there are many greyed out stuff I cannot do which is understandable because I do not have the modules AND this to me is a little aggravating probably because I like to whine but anyway If I get bored today I may delete the .brz and see what happens. Ok thanks for the replies and PHIL M thanks for accurately reading my post "I do not have the CW and MG" this is the valid reason for taking up eveyone's time to post this it is in theory somewhat of a remote valid indirect pointless critical question.

I have an SSD C: drive and this is the only drive where CMBN runs well the platter drives suck the drive is only 111 Gigs it is getting full I am trying to leave 20% of it free. I did the 3.0 upgrade and it put 2 commonwealth. brz files in my data folder along with 2 market garden .brz files in my data folder that take up 3.83 gigs I DO NOT HAVE Commonwealth or Market Garden do not plan on getting them anytime soon may get the vehicle pack so am leaving it in there but I do not at this time want to fool with buying a new and larger SSD drive - for one reason I do not want to figure out how to do a clone of my current C drive and I definitely do not want to reload my pc from a clean c drive Anyway I can just delete these right .. maybe back them up to another drive like either my F: D: or E: drive they have mega Gigs on them and then if I want the modules just copy them back but probably not cause then they wouldn fit ... here is how it looks

What do I do when I finish downloading 3.0 I have the license key do I need to uninstall my mods in my Z folder or anything ???

For those who may have their pc on for a long time this is a method you can use to automatically shutdown your pc even if you are not at home or if you have gone to bed etc. Frankly, because it is a long download just start it when you go to bed or to work or you have to go run some errands etc. but anyway this works for Windows 7 and the link is a youtube video about it. Shutting down win 7 at a certain time · Start - Click on the Start Button · Type in cmd where it reads at the bottom "search programs and files" click in the area if necessary before you type cmd · Type in at command prompt [shutdown<space>/s<space>/t<space>”a number” (a black dos box type of thing pops up type in here) · These are forward slashes – a number is how long before it shuts down · 1 = 1 second 60 = 1 minute · Then press enter · In order to stop it type in shutdown<space>/a (in order to cancel this shutdown of your pc) · That’s it · For example, you would type: shutdown /s /t 60 ß-- shuts it down in 60 seconds · Type the word shutdown press the spacebar type a forward slash (/) then the letter s then press the spacebar then type another forward slash (/) then the letter t then press the spacebar and type a number https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I75UGh81Q1w the link above is the video on youtube so in other words you can start this massive 10 gigabyte download and then set up your pc to shutdown just leave enough time. Oh i should have mentioned I tried searching about 3.0 I did read what is on the website about it at Battlefront but when I search for "version 3.0" I get all kind of different posts that don't really explain stuff

I think I got people sidetracked on load times the big difference I have is that of In Game Playing when I am in a Quick Battle for instance - I play on the Turn based setting where it runs for 1 minute like old school Combat Mission but anyway when I am playing AND, it has been installed on may platter drive the game is clunky and freezes at times and stutters anyway it is real smooth and plays normal whatever that means when I have it installed on the SSD drive. Actually if I had only a platter drive I would not play it or would have to get a new pc that is how bad it is on the platter or how different it is on the SSD drive.

I have been begging them for years to have a force adjuster for both the attacker AND defender but it has fallen on deaf ears. I desire the exact same thing too .. which is to have small battles It seems the only thing we can do is to not allow the system to automatically choose units for us but to choose each sides units that way you can control force size but it takes away from the fog of war etc. If you play against the AI and you want the play Allied and the AI is German and you want to give them less points to make up there force AND, you do not want to defend but you want to attack what you could do but its not actually what you want to do but you could put the Germans as the Attacker and give them less points then your the defender but choose meeting engagement this way you are not sitting there defending but then neither are they but at least they have less points to make up there force

Is 3.0 that much different I cannot use the vehicle pack thing but that is ok I think I like the patch to 3.0 I think its called 3.11 ... if they had no 3.11 patch I don't think I would care for 3.0 - seems 3.0 makes it easier to install or something .. Regarding a reinstall assuming I get the 3.0 upgrade do I have to install it this way .... Base Game 2.0 upgrade 3.0 upgrade or do I just go Base Game then 3.0 upgrade. I guess I should just buy the game again and forgetaboutit cause the game is only sold now in 3.0 upgrade style so this would simplify a reinstall

I did a reload and went Base Game, 2.0 upgrade, and 2.12 patch (I haven't gotten the 3.0 upgrade yet) but I did ALSO skip the 1.11 patch because I read the following below from the website under patches: """""These patches are ONLY for the Battlefront.com original version of CM:BN. Anyway I got the impression the 2.0 upgrade is cumulative meaning you just do base game and if you have the 2.0 upgrade you then just do it then you do the upgrade to the 2.0 which is 2.12 I have had no problem either. or maybe I have but I just don't realize it lol

One important thing to consider doing is to - well let me first say that my Z folder is pretty Generic I put a bunch of mod type tweaks and things in it then I have not added anything else to it the point is I do not change my z folder that much - having said that I think one important thing to consider doing is to SAVE YOUR Z FOLDER - especially when you get it like you want it. I found tweaking the Z folder a complicated undertaking but a welcomed endeavor because of how it can change the game to where I actually wanted to play it - I got rid of all the background combat noise, the LOUD wind noise, and the in my opinion silly repetitive verbal comments from soldiers by replacing them with voice mods and EVEN putting in a silent sound file to get them to shut up and even edited out some of the cussing. But what I do when I reinstall the game is to install the game then the updates or whatever then I copy my backup of my Z folder and place it in the correct location of where the Z folder is suppose to be and instantly I got the game all tweaked back like I want it. The Z folder is located in the DATA folder it is a sub folder of the Data folder so right mouse click the Z folder and copy it to another place on your computer or to a CD ROM this is assuming you have a Z folder configuration that you like --- then if you screw up your z folder or uninstall the game and reinstal it like if you take a break for 6 months and you deleted the game for some reason or whatever .... you don't have to relearn how to manipulate the darn Z folder just copy your back up of it back into your DATA folder of your new install. It is quite interesting how actually computer savy we all have to be to enjoy pc gaming but it is worth it. It may be worth reviewing Mods, Rezexplode, Repack, and Mods in Action these are listed in the table of contents of the 2.11 manual and probably similiarly placed in the I guess newer released 3.00 or 3.11 manual.
