One thing about Target Briefly I befuddled upon by accident but was glad I did, well first of all, I know you asked about controlling which shell you can use but you can also when you choose "Target Briefly" which has nothing to do with this topic you can though, vary the time by setting up a target briefly command or order on something then clicking on the Target Briefly button again and it will add more time to the "brief" time it fires you can add LOTS of time so it is actually a Target non briefly target briefly command.

Mark Mines Command & The 28th Fights Back
Artofwar replied to Artofwar's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Yeah I think I got it but the engineers can't really search for mines until they see them in order to search for mines they have to be stationary in a mine field I was hoping I could just have them go up a road and check for mines the whole way but then maybe this would be to time consuming and that would not be practical/realistic it seems normal though that the game does not allow them to be able to search for mines until someone else finds them - the hard wary - or they find them by camping out in an area. - cause probably usually what happened was some poor bloke or vehicle with a bloke hits a mine then the engineers are called up to find them and mark them. .... -
I mentioned somewhere on some form of some topic at some time and it was weird cause what happened was my Forward Observe sent in a medium air strike on a tank and the commander is sitting up in the turret and like 4 or 5 times the plane came by and had direct hits all over the top of the tank (with machine gun fire) it was sparking like a train grinding to a hault but anyway not only did the commander NOT button up he didn't even get hit. (My army got so scared at that they ran back to base got under the covers into the fetal position and began shaking) but any then another time one of my tanks is moving and some infantry pop up and are running around (they finally see them) so the commander or somebody pops out of the turret gets on the .50 lights them up and then ducks back down all in about 15 seconds or less ...

Machine guns have been identified on the other side of this bocage one was taken out the other one is about out but I want to put my tank over there to really way into them - but I'm actually thinking when I do that anti tank guns will open up on me but anyway at the beginning of the video I have set a move fast order then a move order up to place the charge then a blast order on other side of the bocage then a crawl back order from where they came from but what is the best way to do this .... (I'm suppressing the other last seen machine gun area and there are some infantry way off that are mostly out of play) Some stud made this Scenario and I'm in the middle of it later on my tank ran into minefield and got stuck .....immobilized

Mark Mines Command & The 28th Fights Back
Artofwar replied to Artofwar's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Yeah its ok I was just peeved at spending so much time trying to figure it out how it actually works - I wish I had just read it and understood it and been able to continue the enjoyment of the Scenario rather than spending so much time trying to figure out how it works then going to the form blah blah blah .. -
Mark Mines Command & The 28th Fights Back
Artofwar replied to Artofwar's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Ok I figured it out the engineers do not search for mines using the mark mind command they have to sit in one hex for hours and hours then they see the mines then they can mark them. "This command enables engineer units to detect and ....." This is completely bogus statement in the 3.0 manual it does not allow them to detect mines -
