  1. I don't have a dog in this hunt but is there really rules of engagement to not damage civilian property in the game ? If so I need to turn myself in to someone. Lots of time I have blasted a wall with a Panther tank or direct fired "area" fire at a building I knew had enemy troops in it to flush them out. It often works by the way. Then I think well maybe a British commander might be inclined to go "by the book". But then I think of Hamburg and Dresden. Hmmm maybe not. This thread has a lot of interesting points but I fear it will be locked soon because neither side is using any tact
  2. If they gave grammy awards for wargames, I think both generations CMx1 and CMx2 should have gotten one. I'm pretty sure they have gotten some awards from the Computer gaming media. Sorry I have not kept up on that. But I am a fanboy of this game, not ashamed of that at all.
  3. I think the game should always have either WEGO or RT. I almost always play wego, because I am just not good enough at handling my units in RT. I admire players that can though. I can do ok with RT in small scenarios (fewer units to give orders to) Jeff
  4. I would like to see additional AFV damage graphics, like broken or thrown tracks. For targeting tanks, maybe an option to try for "deliberate immobilization". That could be a good thing if your main gun has no hope of penetrating the target armor. Also it would be cool to have woods and buildings can catch on fire with spreading fire possible. I am sure these things have been requested before but I guess it won't hurt to mention again
  5. Yep I just loaded it again and theres definitely some Germans clad is US uniforms. In a captured US truck there are two soldiers in the front seat, one is in German and one is in US uniform
  6. Theres a scenario with some captured US vehicles mixed in with Panzers. Looks like some Germans in G.I. uniforms? wow. I have spent the evening just loading scenarios to check out maps and uniforms equipment. Super job Battlefront. CMFB looks like the best game yet in the series!
  7. A devastating barrage pummeled the unwary G.I.s near St.Vith. Still asleep in their bivouac, the tent of Cpl Medrow was obliterated by a 150mm shell. No remains were found of the hapless soldier, who had previously been an 8-0 ASL leader. Due to the fact no dog tags were found, CPL Medrow was listed M.I.A instead of K.I.A. Hence, no Purple heart was awarded. RIP
  8. Here is hoping the candidate gets to "graduate" this weekend.
  9. perhaps some wind noise would be good. esp in a blizzard
  10. I agree, I have a lot of games too, ALL the WW2 CMx1 and CMx2 games, some graviteam games including Mius front, Numerous Combat flight simulators, etc. I even still have Steel Panthers and old HPS Squad battles. Games have never so much competed for my money as they compete for my TIME. Over the last few years CMx2 has gotten more than half of all my gaming time.
  11. I see it differently. I don't blame Battlefront for locking that thread. The same person made FIVE separate, pointless posts. Maybe just for attention or to boost his post count, or possibly to stir up unnecessary strife. I am not an anti-troll type either, who looks to stamp out all dissent, but in that case it was a pretty obvious troll thread imo.
  12. I partitioned my drive and actually have xp, , windows 7 and windows 10 on separate logical drives. When I boot up there is a screen that lets me pick which OS i want to start, This might be an option for some people. I did this because I have bad memories about Vista. Mostly I use Windows 7, but I might try CMFB on Windows 10. Windows 10 also looks VERY similar to the OS on XBOX ONE, if any of you have that console you can see.
  13. Schwimmagen: Sein oder nicht sein, das ist der frage.
  14. The CMFB case , DVD and printed manual are the collectible items I believe. Thats part of why I pre-ordered. I like having a hard copy.
  15. Moneys a little tight right now. Can I trade 6 boxes of 7.62x39 mm ammo for a copy of CMFB ? Just kidding. I pre-ordered it a few minutes ago. I usually wait for the official release but for this one I am making an exception since its my favorite battle of WW2.
  16. Ok now it looks like the store is back up... BUT NO CMFB preorder icons! SON OF A DITCH!!! I didn't cuss I said "ditch".
  17. Now announcing two new CM games completed under the radar: CM: Forgotten Battles and CM: Cliffs of Dover !!!
  18. a separate but similar question: can engineers clear trees or blast them down? I know you can blast through hedgerow but not a tree. That could be something for the wish list
  19. Or maybe Mr. Steve is (and perhaps some of his staff) are wealthy and BFC is just an enterprise that capitalist/entrepreneurs enjoy running, partly as a hobby and enjoyment. I have also noticed Mr. Steve has made an anti-Russia remark or two. All I can say is the opinions of the management do not necessarily represent those of this poster. Having said that I do feel like Mr. Steve is kind of a celebrity to us who are enthusiasts and fans of his companys’ war game/simulations. I like it when he posts in the forums too. Public relations are a good thing I think. I hope I don’t annoy anyone by calling him Mr. Steve. (I don’t know his last name but want to give him due respect).
  20. Those of us that post on the forum represent a small fraction of the overall buyers of the games. We tell a friend and they tell a friend and so on and so on
