OK thanks. I did see those and was not sure between them and the type I posted. An articulated vehicle like that was used in Greenland and across the north to build the DEW line. There are a couple a documentaries on building the DEW line at youtube. Some consider the line as big of a engineering challenge as Apollo. Probably not, but something to consider. It was a massive logistic challenge for sure.

Where was the discussion started? What was the logical fallacy? Don't hide behind other's words. Come to the thread armed to debate. If an 8th grader can mow a lawn, fix the sink, they can understand the basics of everything we are talking about with respect to war and how to conduct it. In fact, their out of the box ideas might be worth a listen to by the ossified brains in NATO.

I don't even think you understand what you said yourself. If I am confused by your nonsense, how about are good friends who don't know English well? They must think: "what are these two idiots arguing over."

So there is a gene for kindness, and no so kindness? And kind families pass on those genes to their offspring who become kind people? But being kind does not guarantee your genes will be passed on more than unkind people genes. There is no selective pressure on that behavioral trait. Even if they were, it would take hundreds of generations to effect a population. This timeframe is outside how long societies and their politics even exist. We have to separate physical and behavioral traits. Behaviors are learned and not inherited. Russians are not genetic misfits. They are not Home sapiens sapiens authoritative. The Russian culture has evolved, but, not locked into a child at birth. You would be hard pressed to differentiate the genomes of Germans and Japanese pre and post war. But their cultures and societies have changed a lot. This can't be natural selection given the timeframe.

But do they write about how genetic variation affects variation in human behavior? No, because they can't.

It won't in so few generations. And there is no selective genetic benefit on either the rewarded or unrewarded. Maybe the unrewarded don't have access to birth control and reproduce more. Maybe they die off because lack of healthcare. Maybe the rewarded inbreed. Maybe revolution wipes them out. Civilizations and their geostrategies are too short lived for natural selection affect their impact on the world.

I guess you can't count North Korea since they are just beaten into submission in the most overt way. But how about China? Don't they have this thing called social credit system? Suppression comes is several forms and degrees. When the day come when I can't replace my natural gas stove tops with the same there will be hell to pay.

Would Russia and Ukraine be engaged in was/is called total war? I think Ukraine is. But Russia's approach is schizophrenic. Like digging your own grave with a teaspoon. It's as if Putin wants to punish the country knowing his *** is not on the line because he holds the codes and is China's lap dog. Every hand Putin plays is a loser. We have to find a way to get him to leave the table and then banish him from the casino. It's like dealing with a addict. I don't think there will be a report on Russian behavior that will surprise me now. There is a debate tactic. When your side has the topic won, you just let the other side ramble on desperately. Like I said, dig their own grave. If Ukraine can keep their losses at a bare minimum and still regain some ground, I think the west will continue or even increase support. When cornered, the west is betting on some sensible people taking those codes away. Perhaps they have well placed assets that give them the confidence to play this game step by increasing step.

How long has it been since we’ve heard about attacks on the energy infrastructure?
Did they just throw in the towel on that?  My sense is that things are largely restored, but only because I don’t see the story anymore.

The conflict between the US and China is not over if one side conquers the other's land mass. It's about keeping international sea lanes open for trade and, via that, competing economically not kinetically. The mass of their armies is irrelevant right now. The US needs to out pace China technically (air/naval) to keep them away from key sovereign soil where mass in the form of ground warfare would be relevant.

    Zelenskiy’s adviser Mykhailo Podolyak said
“It will be a hot spring-summer season. We will see catastrophic events befall the Russian army. It will be forced to leave the occupied territories very quickly,” he predicted. Asked when this might happen, he replied: “We don’t hint at anything. But there are only 17 days left until summer.”
Um, doesn't summer start on Jun 21? Maybe hinting at something big around Jun 1?

I am not too hung up on exact frontages.  If the UA has 18 fighting Bdes they can do multiple 5km frontages - I think the tweeters point was it is a lot of horse power to drop and if concentrated the RA will crack.
Whether or not the UA is able to concentrate forces and conduct an old school manoeuvre break-in, break out offensive relies heavily on just how badly eroded the RA is at the time of the assault.  The RA has tac UAS but if they do not have any C2 nodes to plug them into then those fires will not able to respond in time.  What is the state of the RA artillery?  They have been suffering the dual corrosive effects of gun wear out and UA counter battery for months, not to mention ammo production.  We have seen a steady drop in RA effective fires as was noted on multiple separate occasions during their winter offensive.  As to RA deep strike, well unless AirPower suddenly comes on line and can overcome Ukrainian air denial the RA’s ability for deep strike will be limited to those Iranian drones and whatever their AF can lob from afar.
RA would need to solve for all this before it could effectively start hammering the UA logistics tail.  We have been seeing a WW1-style defence dominated battlefield for most of this war.  Only through rapid and precise corrosion has one side been able to create significant operational gains.  The question is, has the RA burned itself out so badly over the winter that conditions have changed fundamentally? If so, then traditional mech manoeuvre and assault is possible for one side in this - the UA.  If not then we will likely see a lot more corrosive strategies in play.  Between RA erosion and UA force generation has the battlefield become so asymmetric that we might see some warfare we recognize before the year is out?
If the UA really has 18 full brigades (a number I doubt, in fact I believe half that may be more realistic) and the RA is blind, brittle and in shock, then yes we could see some significant breakouts and exploits.  But “are we yet?”

How much info on the war have or are getting through a keyhole that only enlightens a narrow view of reality?  In a broader sense, Plato's Cave. I think we need to be careful aligning tactical videos and their positive UA results to wider operations and assuming there a one to one correlation. These videos filming Russians die might be fun to watch, but they need to be placed into context. ISW has been careful and steadfast in this regard. They are not watching this war through a keyhole. Battlefield videos provide insight. But studying them, even all of them, since Feb 2022 would not win any war. I am not saying these films are not suggestive of what in occurring on the ground in favor of the UA.  But where are the films of Ukrainians troops getting hunted down, mauled, and crying for mommy? (n=1 is not an answer).
