  1. I nodded off while watching it actually for a couple minutes there. Admittedly, I'd also been up for about 30 hours by that point because I've been trying to meet a deadline and only went because friends were driving. The film itself had a few flaws, as do all films, but as mentioned it's best not to look too closely, and besides, The Joker. I can't remember the last time I was that amazed with a actors performance of a role.
  2. Number one thing I've been waiting on since it's announcement is Stalker: Clear Sky. Empires: Total War looks good too, I'll probably buy it on release, unlike M2:TW:Kingdoms, which I'm waiting on Europa Barbarorum 2 for.
  3. Bad arguments for API function Pretty sure even I could do that. Could you re-link the article? Everything I found involving DARPA was 5 years old on the site.
  4. Pete, put the good version on www.megaupload.com since they can host files up to 500mb.
  5. Like releasing CM:SF digitally, then months/years later getting a contract with retailers to sell it in stores?
  6. BFC: You were right the first time, they are grogs afterall.
  7. Do you publish the rest of these biographies anywhere besides random, scattered forum posts?
  8. No, not really. He was the inspiration for the series. </font>
  9. My hard drive with CMSF on it kicked the bucket, have I essentially lost that registration ticket then, or is there a way to salvage it? If I manage to screw up twice like this, not impossible considering my luck, am I out of a game?
  10. Seems more like combat stress, than a bug.
  11. Are you willing to hold your breath until I reveal all about that evening in a Melbourne hotel? </font>
  12. I realize this is a rather broad question, but are there any estimates to how far the 'retrofitting' will go? I'd be interested in seeing improvements and updates beyond minor features to extend to stuff such as the revised QB system and updated TacAI. Is this a viable posibility for the future, or far too early to speculate on as I suspect? I've gotten the impression it would be relatively easy to add it in considering the module structure of the game, but perhaps this reaches a lot further than most modules do. I found the modern/post WWII era much more interesting myself.
  13. Isn't this the whole reason of the Peng thread? Or is that just a bunch of elders trading banter.
  14. Can you save and quit in the middle of a TCP campaign and pick it up again later? And thanks for the suggestions.
  15. Yes yes, in the game files directory, somewhere or other. I was refering to one in game however.
  16. Any PBEM scenarios or quick battles someone can recommend? Or at least an effective way to search for ones designed with PBEM on CMMods? I've finally gotten used to how the mouse works the camera, and I must say that it's improved the game immensely. Now all I need to do is not suck, and wait for them to figure out that for us non-grogs, a customizable key menu is the next major improvement that the game needs.
  17. Not sure if this is appropriate here or if it should get it's own thread, but as BFC has responded to it several times; Are there any estimates on the amount of content going into the Marine Module? If it's priced at $20, I assume the first $25 of CMSF goes into the engine, and the rest for content? Or will it have less? Not a huge concern for me, I'm more concerned with, will the modules contain additional functionality that won't translate to the main game? If the variety of tasks get bumped up in the MM, if, if, those tasks are also part of regular Army duties, would those get into CMSF, or would they always remain part of the MM?
  18. Give them all no ammo and send into combat. You win when your token forces are depleted.
  19. Pretend this is on a space camp, or something. They're aliens, close enough right?
  20. Uh, either my knowledge of both situations is further lacking than I realize, or I can't draw a connection between event A and B.
  21. Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity of the keyboard commands for moving the camera? This is my preferred way of moving it around over the mouse, but it feels rather stuttered and moves at a slow pace.
  22. Sounds interesting, though all I can see is the producer saying "And in the next patch, you'll now be able to enjoy new frame rates! From one fpm to to a whopping FIVE frames per minute. The modern battlefield has never been so vivid."
  23. Those poor animals, I'm pretty sure that animal cruelty, and I think some Geneva Convention laws are involved. Mostly the ones involving WMDs. Weapons of Mass Distraction or sumfink. Seriously though, I personally feel like, it's not only the 'difficulty' percieved as it is of changing hotkeys in a text document, but not being able to change them in game directly. I think you've underrated this feature, and that by adding it, and making it at least semi-prominent so that, yes, you CAN adjust the keys, it's easy, and not only that, by having them there, you can hit pause and experiment, see what feels natural. You have a good point about it being more efficient, but I think it stems from people just not being able to easily see it. Once I quit the game, started it back up, tested, and then closed it again and adjusted the keys more to get it to feel natural, my game play experience vastly improved. The second thing I would like to argue for, is that I don't understand how the camera control was devised. When I first got the game, it felt very clunky, and in desperate need of a fix. I still feel like it needs to smoothly and perceptively scroll. It's a lot easier to stop it once you move away the mouse or quit pressing the camera pan key, than it is to have to go to the edge and guess where you put the cursor to move the camera. I recently tried out World in Conflict, and besides noting that I didn't enjoy it as much as CMSF, it had a camera control that was beautiful. It did everything I wanted it to. You don't need to make this the norm, or even add it in desperately soon, but for the love of Syria PLEASE rip it off and stick it in sometime. Customizable key menu, a excellent camera control set up, and no wall bugs, and you'd have the perfectest CM yet. I'd go far as to say any complaints about the rest of the game would be secondary, as you have added enough material in to make it all playable for everyone except perhaps the MP guys. Not sure if they'll ever be happy. But after 1.06, provided something else doesn't go to hell, I think focus on UI should be a greater priority than what you've evaluated it as. I'd think it'd surpress a number of bitchy issues, as well as insta-negative responses so that those who try the demo will get further in. I admit if I hadn't admired CM:SF for what it is, I probably would have stopped at the demo instead of going on to buy a boxed version. Either way, thanks for taking the time to respond to the community so often, it looks like it can be a double-edged sword to be sure, but I think it's a huge improvement overall that we can provide feedback, and hear straight from the developer(s).
