Sorry it was all my fault. BF read my post and thought: no we do not want this happen. so they held back the rt patch.

Good to hear, so we can soon start to complain about the absence of a cmbn flame unit pack.

all that may be true but can you tell men an alternative to the combat mission series?

Return of the bocage gap bug in 3.00?
permanent666 replied to James Crowley's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I did not want to hijack this thread but this mortar bug is real! just try it by yourself: Take a flat map some foxholes and 81mm mortars. Then give them an area target outside the minimum range and you will notice that the crew will get stuck in "moving" and not fire! Edit: Did some more tests and got different results - sometimes the 81mm had no problems to fire sometimes the crew refused to fire. The first time I noticed this "bug" when my brother was complaining that his 81mm mortar in a foxhole ignores his area-target. He then moved the crew outside the foxhole and it started to fire. I did a quick test afterwards and got the same results. Now with my second test the mortar fires in some directions but in some it still refuses to fire. So after some more tests it seems that once the mortar fires once it can fire in all directions. -
Return of the bocage gap bug in 3.00?
permanent666 replied to James Crowley's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
It would be great if there was a known bugs list somewhere. It seems that 3.0 introduced some new bugs: bazookas do not area fire 81mm mortars not firing from foxholes and now this one -
target arc and bazooka with the 3.0 upgrade.

They will not fire at all, if they are deployed in foxholes. If they are placed outside foxholes it works as expected. -
target arc and bazooka with the 3.0 upgrade.
permanent666 replied to arpella72's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I do notice something different since 3.0. My Bazooka Teams and Antitank Teams of Squads do not use the bazooka when areatargeting buildings any more. Also another bug got my attention - 81mm mortars in foxholes cannot areafire. In a recent hotseat game my brother complained about it and i just did a quick test where I could replicate this problem. -
Regular more brittle since 3.0?

Ok thanks for the answer. Maybe the mg42 is more powerful than before. -
Regular more brittle since 3.0?
permanent666 replied to permanent666's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
nope there were no changes or nope you do not see any differences? I noticed it especially in the market garden campaign where the regular us paras behave like cowards since 3.0. -
I have the impression, that the patch changes the way regular troops behave under fire. If they come under fire they tend to crawl away from their position more often. Were there any TAC-AI changes in 3.0?

Bugs? and Ammo Dumps?
permanent666 replied to permanent666's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Just found the answer: it is not possible! I think the ammo dump thing needs to be changed. by now one can only get ammo dumps if you choose armored infantry in the editor and set the vehicle status to dismounted. so there are no ammo dumps in quick battles and no ammo dumps for flak at all. One more thing which is annoying is that one cannot move light and medium flak batteries. -
First I have to report some bugs: 37mm flak does not change barrel elevation but fires upwards No command Link between flak battery plattons and flak battery hq (Luftwaffe) My question is how do I buy ammo dumps in Quick-Battles?

Uncontrolled AIR in CMBN
permanent666 replied to Lethaface's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Are pre-planned missions not affected by the new game mechanic? -
Uncontrolled AIR in CMBN
permanent666 replied to Lethaface's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
This means I have to buy and download 3.0 before it gets patched! If I could decide I would choose the CMRT way of air support with the ability of the spotter to tell the planes to fly home or give them specific targets with less delay. Maybe bf could just increase the maximum attack radius for air support. With the new limitation of one target mission per spotter and the long delays plus the small radius air support is not very useful any more. Especially if there is only one forward observer (like in the market garden campaign) and you have to choose between the heavy arti and air support. -
Live stream of Upgrade 3.0 soon
permanent666 replied to ChrisND's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I think some people will wait for the flame units pack before they upgrade - at least this is my plan. -
Live stream of Upgrade 3.0 soon
permanent666 replied to ChrisND's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I am wondering if the one fire mission per spotter change will render some scenarios or campaigns unwinable. I am especially worrying about the road to Nijmegen campaign. Did he mention something about air support - will it change in 3.0? -
Ok Germany won the worldw.... ah worldcup and still no sign of steve and co. I think we were wrong when we thought that they are in partying in Brasil. The truth is - they were kidnapped by Vyacheslav Ponomarev during a research trip in eastern Ukraine.

What do you think of close combat??
permanent666 replied to Squallion's topic in General Discussion Forum
I enjoyed playing cc5 gjs against my brother. we did not play online only when we met at our parents home, so the progress of the campaign was very slow. after about five years playing one campaign we stopped half way through. I hope there will be an operational layer for cm one day. -
I want to recommend this map. It is so beautiful and offers a lot of tactical choices. I think it is best suited for Infantry vs Infantry.

What is the command to reman an AT gun?
permanent666 replied to Destraex1's topic in Combat Mission Red Thunder
Maybe it is not a big problem for most circumstances but in some situations it would be good if our pixeltruppen could leave the gun and reman it:
