purpheart23 replied to JP76er's topic in CMSF Strategy and Tactics Forum
This is the one where all of blufor starts outside the city wall. Low and behold there's a nasty suprise ******spoiler?************ There happens to be three or four T-90s and a host of nasty things to punch holes in your Marines if you're not careful. Good scenario. -

Artillery from the receiving end
purpheart23 replied to Mord's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Actually that's my job Steve. So let's try to restore some sanity here. Let's say we did have this nation building force to come in after the military "secures" said nation. It's going to come down to the time needed to put together the indigenous security forces, let's face it you probably don't want to pull just anybody off the street to be part of your security forces. In the long run I could see how it would probably be more cost effective but as a contractor or an individual working for this rebuilding department, I don't know if I'd want indigenous personnel providing security for me. So basically what this boils down too is the cost of operating a proxy army, while simultaneously rebuilding a nation. I can tell you right now, people would sit back and still complain, it doesn't matter. -

Warrior ethos. "I will always place the mission first, I will never accept defeat, I WILL NEVER QUIT, I will never leave a fallen comrade," sorry boss they got me for life. And I'm sorry if I don't agree with you and your opinion. This umm......discussion? Is over for me. I'm gonna go burn some more taxpayer money. Tried to be cordial. -

Your right, we're out there to get blown up, shot, and burned. To hell with morale. Lets let em hammer us all day. Pissing about a couple of artillery shells. You want to see your tax dollars hard at work go down to the social security/welfare offices on the 1st and the 15th of each month. Back OT: This is a single cannon delivering these rounds. A platoon/battery counter fire mission would be much more devastating. As far as swatting a fly with a sledge hammer, im assuming "we" should let the "fly" buzz around all day doing whatever it likes without a single thought that it might get swatted. In my experience that is not the answer. P.S. I'm a Soldier and I pay taxes -

CMBB on CMx2 = no more???

I absolutely loved the scope of CMBB. Great game. Couldn't really get into the North Africa campaign but CMBO started this love affair. Thanks again BFC. -

purpheart23 replied to Mord's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
that's how we do Mord, when the rockets are being fired it triggers a certain chain of events starting with the radar turds, working it's way to the FDC pukes and then down to the gun bunnies. Depends on the skill of the crews as to how fast you get rounds on target, but you see they break the video and i'm sure that's because it is a fairly substantial wait, a minute or two before the counterbattery starts impacting. But the point of this video i'm sure is to showcase the lethality of counterbattery fire if the enemy is stupid enough to stick around. Good vid. Edit: Too bad we didn't get em. -

It's beautiful isn't it. *sniff* *sniff* -
Spot on with your evaluation of standards slipping. I would go as far as to make the comparison to that of the wehrmarcht in late '44. I was in recruiting 05-08 and every couple of months they would come out with some new regulation where the recruits could be fatter, or not score as well on the asvab. Started doing more felony waivers across usarec. It felt like murdering the Army that we had come to love. Yes love. I am a lifer. I understand and have seen first hand the quality of recruit that Mr. Mord is talking about. Sucks to say.

At least you tried Mord. Basic training is definitely not what it used to be. You were definitely very courageous for trying to tackle this thing at your uh...."advanced age"? Anyways welcome back and hopefully we can get you to crank out some more mods for us.

I want one! Impressive 25mm shot.

Well I can only assume that bf has something big in store for us. Usually when there is a prolonged development for a patch/module it's because they're making some pretty big changes/ additions to the game. I can only hope this is true this time around.
