  1. If I may be so free as to share my observation, you and others in this thread were quick on the draw; postulating opinions as facts and being long-toed ;-) I agree with you that free democracy is the least bad form of government; that doesn't mean your government can't behave worse than less preferred type of governments of other countries. Especially in the eyes of people living in other countries than your own I bet some western 'NGO projects' or clandestine operations were happening in Ukraine for some time now. One doesn't need to be a psychic to envision that. In fact, it would have been stupid not to have done so. Democracy, Kleptocracy or Dictatorship never mind. Obviously Russia has been doing the same in Ukraine for years. My view on the whole situation is: having lost the last hand of the night at the poker table Russia is out of chips and decides to pull out the AK and get their money back at gunpoint. Which is exactly what the other players would have done functionally in that situation, perhaps in a different way. Vietnam, Iraq, Libya, Yemen, Pakistan, Somalia, Afghanistan, Iran (ousting Mossadegh -> Shah), Bay of pigs, etc... Didn't only leave scars in the American psyche. In my opinion you are overlooking how people from other parts of the world are viewing the actions of the US and their justifications. Seeing US foreign policy in action, democracy and human rights in Russia seem to be of more interest than democracy and human rights in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt or Israel/Palestine. I would refer to this policy as hypocrite although probably serving certain interests. But seemingly the US just cares for their own interests. Surprising? Hell no
  2. Russia wont give up it's naval base and will make sure the Crimea stays in it's 'sphere' of influence. Not that breathtaking strange, imo. Rest of the world is all too keen on jumping the bandwagon to see if any interest can be made over this 'disruption in the force'
  3. Well I haven't seen any strykers or abrams riding around in Syria. Nor did there go off any dirty bombs in western cities. Which was the backdrop for CMSF. Glad about it too!
  4. As a CMSF customer with all modules I would be more than happy paying a full game price (45/55) for a 3.0 update of the content. If old campaigns wouldn't be working I'd expect some new ones
  5. You forgot Holland Although Market Garden does fine without it, I guess.
  6. I have noticed that putting units real close to the enemy speeds up the surrender process. Driving a tank past them seemed to work splendid too Surrendering troops picking up their weapons is not uncommon in cm, but I don't see a problem with it. And for the take no prisoners type of game area fire from units that haven't spotted the surrendering enemy or high caliber rounds work fine.
  7. Good to hear, I removed myself from posting there some time ago in a matter of seldom selfrestraint. Didn't want to bring this whole mess up but I felt poor for the recently departed being depicted in a scenario against overwhelming odds
  8. Misunderstood the thread topic and caused the derailment, my bad!
  9. I reek a business case for quite some 'packs' for CMBN and CMFI: campaigns with triggers, AAA interacting with AIR, flamethrowers vs bunkers, etc etc etc. Whole new games!
  10. Obviously it's just the shared interests of those drivers combined that's resulting in the traffic jam, but who cares? They are conspiring against the hard working people trying to make a living! Never figured out what all those rain drops have against me though, must have splashed in a puddle too often while I was young.
  11. Well I do believe there are conspiracies out there, like the traffic jams always showing up when I go to work!
  12. Guess I'll have to go check it out now, cheers for the movie advice!
  13. Never seen the movie and being too deep in my own conspiracies I didn't hear the sound
  14. Lol, probably would if it is an interesting scenario But don't be too harsh on the guy, it is a common mistake for people that don't believe the 'mainstream hype' to crossover into believing the 'conspiracies hype'. He 'just' called BS on the 'western propaganda' and probably believes the holocaust never fully happened and that Germany was basically enslaved because of the Versailles treaty among other things which is why they did what they did and were actually not the villains. While that's.... awkward , it's not the same as being a neo-nazi. Although I'm not sorry about him being banned, bringing up that **** time and time again. But, there are a number of active posters (especially in the CMSF fora) here that are hardcore believing the fox crap (or Israeli propaganda) and glorifying killing arabs and or claiming that all Arab/Muslims are evil terrorist that sort of deserve to die. For me they are on the same level as Steiner. I haven't seen those banned (which would be appropriate too, imho), but then this is not my forum
  15. Hoping for a change regarding the single file advance too! Although a squad running into a HMG field of fire will probably still get mowed down, no matter what formation they are running in
  16. 100% agreed, however it isn't like the rest of the world was (or is) that adorable. Anyway this thread is about Sovjet Offensive Tactics and not about politics.
  17. URA!!!!! Seriously though seeing a red thunder attack wouldn't be inappropriate for a beta AAR!
  18. Katyusha preliminary bombardment on the build up area followed up by hordes of OT-34 carrying SMG troopers FTW!!!
  19. A bloody ride Benouville_Bridge Blue and Gray Brige too close Devils' Decent Die letzte Hoffnung Operation_Deadstick The outlaws
  20. Well I'm quite sure that the US will have a sizeable tank fleet (among things) around eastern europe before a Black Sea type of conflict starts. They wouldn't just send in the 82nd and wait for shipped in reinforcements if Russia mounted a proper full scale invasion into Ukraine.
