  1. I seem to recall the guy in the photo died about a month later, as well.
  2. I'm already getting hit with microtransactions out the wing wang. Please, no more Horse Armour. Out of curiosity, how many scenarios are in the release version? [ July 24, 2007, 05:05 PM: Message edited by: Dr. Zoidberg ]
  3. molotov_billy, the way I understand it is that because you are still playing on a pre-built map then the same AI plans will apply.
  4. John, believe Joe was either referring to an article further down the page or was off in dreamland (which, comparing his post and this article would seem to be the case). http://flashofsteel.com/index.php/2007/07/20/the-eyes-of-the-innocent/ Article located here, linked so as to include the comments.
  5. Yes, best to get the most mileage out of this current engine before they decide that it needs cavalry charges and massed line formations.
  6. I seem to recall it being mentioned that they are using Securom protection which would indicate that you need a CD in the drive. Keep in mind that this is not developed by Paradox but simply published, whereas the EU, HOI series and others were developed and published by them. I think Take Command: 2nd Manassas, another game published by them, had copy protection. [ July 21, 2007, 09:38 AM: Message edited by: Dr. Zoidberg ]
  7. Visual representation, anyway. The AH-64 and OH-58 are already confirmed in the recently released weapons list. But in a similar manner as fixed wing and artillery support. I'm sure there are still pretty explosions!
  8. Yeah, have not had a response about that since it was posted on the first page here..
  9. I thought they were including that campaign what with the training centre? Can't recall the name of it, but I kind of assumed that would serve as a tutorial.
  10. Millions of dollars and a considerably larger production team might be a factor. And in regards to file size, fewer units, fewer calculations, a shorter game time (on average) etc. [ July 20, 2007, 07:12 AM: Message edited by: Dr. Zoidberg ]
  11. Probably just a delay on Play.com's part, getting the games in and then shipping them.
  12. And even worse when you consider this topic is called "IT IS IN MY HANDS"
  13. Honestly, if it turns out that a bunch of people who do not visit these forums got the game, I don't really care about an early release. It's 9 days, which they need to be able to get the patch ready. It won't be so good to get it early and have issues that will only be fixed near the real release date when the patch is ready. ...Oh what am I saying. If 2 people have the game before I do, there will be hell to pay!
  14. Or even use these forums, I guess. While we all know that we're the centre of Battlefront's universe, I do hope they are getting preorders from outside of here. Easier for Battlefront if it's out of sight and (not quite) out of mind. Paradox must be able to figure out how many copies were shipped..
  15. I'm frantically photoshopping CMSF boxes onto pictures of computer desks. Would it be too much of a giveaway if I put a speech bubble that says "FREEEEEEDOM!" with one? Hope it is resolved soon and you can get back to your undoubtedly 100% stress free run up to release.
  16. Which would kind of screw them over trying to reach the release date. It isn't "Gold" and then 2 days later on store shelves. Didn't somebody here say they were starting to do runs of CD's already? Which would mean they have been at a gold status for a few days.
  17. I am sure, for a fee, certain forumites may be willing to cause this health issue. Hope you like baseball bats! [ July 13, 2007, 07:43 AM: Message edited by: Dr. Zoidberg ]
  18. Aha, so the Syrian battery unit that I could not make out is "Static Tank Battery". Neat.
  19. Imagine what that will be like if you see it in the WW2 release
  20. I have my hopes on a moderately alerted level for the LA gathering on the 21st/22nd. But I wouldn't be surprised if that didn't happen.
  21. Is it just me or does this say that the Syrians are getting some artillery? They are able to purchase a Forward Observer Section, as well as having an Artillery tab on the bottom left. Also, what is the something something Battery listed at the end of the Syrian units? Can't make that out. But anyway I had thought it was said they were not receiving any off map support and suchlike. I suppose it could just be some mortars, not sure what the word on those was.
