  1. Perhaps making pause-restrictions a seperate option, if that is a viable solution. Or removed, and people can excercise restraint. Personally I would like to play elite and be able to pause and issue orders every so often.
  2. I've been in that same boat, but count yourself lucky that you get atleast 28.8. We used to get 24 here when we remembered to hop on one foot while sacrificing a goat at 6:03am, 21.6 if the goat wasn't cooperative. I can see houses out the window that have always been on high speed, just across the river. Fortunately we're with a wireless company now, so dial-up is just a terrible recurring nightmare. But it's no laughing matter. I wonder, did you ever struggle through TCP/IP in CMx1? Fond memories of taking my turn and then going off to amuse myself for 5 or 10 minutes
  3. Excellent! Assuming they go in the Scenarios folder and I haven't just made the game explode, I'll be sure to check them out and (if I can tear myself away from them) report in.
  4. Pretty counter intuitive, to just dump you back to the menu. Or even let you choose the setting at all. On another note, I've played 3 QB's thus far and 2 of the three have had rather poor AI activity. In the last one, I was able to walk my Syrian SF troops through a city once I realised that the entire Uncon opposition was sitting in the farthest corner of the map. One mortar strike managed to kill 68 of 72 guys. The worst thing is that I had actually planned a pretty neat assault and wanted to see how it turned out. Advanced totally unopposed.. I would assume this is a problem with the AI plan (if it even existed for that last map), kind of left wondering how it got through to release.

  6. Here's a fun question: Can you play multiplayer using a full version and a demo version together? Understandable if they're incompatible, but worth asking.
  7. Really friggin' old AMD Athlon 2.0ghz (if that) 768mb RAM Nvidia 6800 GS (256mb AGP) Windows XP Runs quite well in my opinion, although I do notice it struggles a bit playing a Large City map. It was still absolutely playable in real time, even so. Graphics are set at medium-ish, 1280x1024 resolution.
  8. worgul, there is definitely a training campaign in my BFC 1.01 version. So I think that you will probably get it when the patch is out.
  9. 395mb, pulling it in at 350kb/s. Stop bitching and go download it.
  10. Confirmed. KEKEKEKEKEKEKEKE.
  11. I've just taken the time to update my Nvidia drivers. Latest release is from yesterday, so I think its something we should all take the time to do while we wait.
  12. Give it a rest. They've stated several times that the pre-order offer disappears once the download is up for us.
  13. 1.1 is out for the Gamersgate version, now. See here: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?t=315202
  14. Yeah, that's kind of annoying that they launched it before we get it here. But we are still getting a mailed copy, and for some, the goodies in the deluxe version.
  15. I would imagine the x1300 would run pretty well. Certainly, it is a nice compliment to the rest of the rig.
  16. Heh, very true. On another note, is anybody aware of whether or not download managers will work? Particularly ones that are able to make several connections at once. So as to download it for me faster, and slow it down for you guys
  17. Ah, very clever. You're going to make us refresh our email instead of the forum. Although I suppose it will be plastered all over the forums when the first person notices the email.
  18. Perfect for the chillens', no doubt. I find it difficult to believe that you're here telling us that Battlefront has not contracted out (I assume) a Soprano vocalist. What is Moon doing for the company?! Do you guys even know how to make games? Honestly. PS: Kind of refreshing to hear you say nothing is wrong with the "im in ur base killin ur doods" genre. I enjoy Company of Heroes quite a bit, as well as Starcraft and a variety of other games in many genres. But enough about that, I think I hear an angry mob chanting my name. Fortunately they're grogs, who I assume are old and feeble. [ July 25, 2007, 09:33 PM: Message edited by: Dr. Zoidberg ]
  19. Totally off topic here, but Lawndart, you can be proud of that installment in my opinion. My brother and I both fondly remember playing earlier editions in our younger years (which we are barely out of, mind you), and it was definitely an enjoyable time when we picked up Total Destruction a few months ago. Bet this was not the place you expected to read this, huh? [ July 25, 2007, 09:02 PM: Message edited by: Dr. Zoidberg ]
  20. Except, of course, if an RTS junkie (or anyone else) were to read his review and dismiss the game entirely. That's a lost sale, or two, or ten, or more. Reading the comments section of that review is pretty surprising, there seem to be some people claiming the game is a total failure and Battlefront screwed up. They haven't even played it, and seem like reasonably intelligent people, but they're saying this just from reading this review. Bad press is not going to help, and shouldn't be dismissed out of hand.
