  1. Christ man let it go. It's flawed you win, feel better.
  2. RT is the only way to go!! With pause it's much faster and I'd say more real the WeGo.
  3. After I kill the first rush up BTR's I run 1 vehicle down the right flank to trip all the phase lines. It seems the tanks activate a few minutes after the phase lines are tripped. First time I played this scenario I advanced my troops down the map towards the phase lines after killing their advance screen. Then the tanks appeared and killed most of my guys and raced to the far side of the map. Needless to say total defeat of my boys!! But using the roof tops and hide it been total victory ever since.
  4. Put your troops on the roofs of the buildings and give them a hide command. Of course give each team 3 javelins. Have the TOW vehicles kill the light armor. Once the tanks arrive un-hide one team at a time to kill the tanks. Un-hiding all teams at once means they could fire at the same target wasting missiles. If you don't the hide the infantry will fire off all their missiles then you're in trouble. Do this and you'll win everytime. Most I evey lose is one of the anti-tank vehiciles. It seems one tanks always gets through and kills my vehicle. I've played this scenario at least 10 times so the above works.
  5. Better than mine 2.6 processer 512 RAM 64 MB video card Looks like crap but it runs
  6. The BBC and MSNBC don't have anything on it, I shocked, shocked to hear that. Next you'll say CNN don't have anything on it. If you can find any one more anti-american than the above listed "news" outlets please let me know who they are.
  7. I like the new game. I posted some negative stuff when it first came out but most of the really bad stuff has been fixed. Like most here I felt like I paid for a beta version. But even it that was true I still feel like I got my moneys worth. Hell I've played almost everyday since it was released. I can't play the old games anymore the action is just to slow. Yes, I admit it I like RT better, never thought I'd say that. With being able to issue orders with pause it's about like WeGO any way as far as game play goes. How many times in the old game did you scream at the monitor for your guys to stop before they walked into a ambush? Millions I know. With RT and pause you can prevent most of that. True with huge scenarios its had to keep track of the action, but by keeping an eye on the hot spots you can manage it.
  8. I never used right click with the old games, always used hot keys. That said the new system isn't bad once you get used to it. I play real-time elite so pause is my friend.
  9. Hell, you paid you're money just play the darn thing. Is it perfect no but what game is. I've played through the campaign 5 times and had fun every time. Did some dub stuff happen yes but, so what. I still had fun. It's only a freaking $45 game. Everyone needs to lighten up.
  10. What works the best for me is break squads into teams and ALWAYS use the hunt command with overwatch. That helps in many ways, 1. movement, they seem to follow orders better, i.e., pathfinding in much better. 2. firepower, yes firepower, since we have 1.1 representation only 3 or 4 guys are shooting anyway so you really don't lose much and you have less people exposed to fire. 3. scouting, again less people exposed, AI opens up at long range and uses up ammo, which they have very little in most cases. Of course the above works best in MOUT scenarios. Last but not least take you're time. Try it I think you'll like the results.
  11. It don't work, when I try that several of my unit that "can" see the bad guys light up. When I select one of them to fire on the enemy I get a no line of sight message sometimes. Really bums me out. Happens more often that not.
  12. RT for the speed of it a 60 minute scenario takes 65-70 minutes including a few necessary pauses. Sixty turn scenario can take hours in WeGo.
  13. Never thought I'd say this but I like RT better. The reason is it's so much faster. Even with a few pauses you can play a 60 minute scenario is 65-70 minutes. With WeGo the same 60 turn scenario takes 3-5 hours. I do agree that with huge scenarios RT is to much to manage. Once you get used to RT it's the only way to go.
  14. Agree, it's huge way to many units. You hear shooting/explosions and quickly scan the map trying to see what's going on. WeGo is the only way to play this one. I also gave up 45 minutes into the 2 hour scenario. Every other scenario I was able to get through in RT without to much sitting around. Usually I would focus on one flank then the other. Against a human that most likely would work but against the AI it really isn't a problem. I must say I'm suprised I like RT better. For me the trade off between the speed of RT play verus "real world" tactics is worth it. Taking 4-5 hours to play a 1 hour scenario your going to win anyway what's the point. Playing RT you can play 2-3 scenarios in that same 4-5 hour window.

  16. Should have been more specific, you'll see the same scenarios in the "winner's bracket" or "losers bracket" just in a different sequence. I did say I may have seen 1 or 2 different one's however.
  17. Following the Wadi, when I "lost" but if I remember correctly that scenario comes up again later on even when you win.
  18. I’ve played the campaign twice, winning once and losing once. When I won I actually played the scenarios. When I lost I surrendered during set-up suffering a total defeat just to see what would happen. Well, here’s what happened. The first few scenarios where the same win or lose. In fact I only remember 1 or 2 scenarios being different. What I’m getting at is there isn’t much of a “tree” depending on how you fair during each battle. I went through about 10 scenarios (I should have kept count) before I was relieved of command and of course lost the campaign.
  19. I bet I have the worst gig playing the game: 2.6 P4 512 RAM NVIDIA GeForce 4 MX 440 (64 MB) Amazed it ran at all, looks like crap but it plays.
  20. I love it and I hate it. I love the eye candy, artillery, modern setting, trying hard to keep my guys alive, and the other stuff that works. I hate the path finding (all most to the point of being unplayable), QB’s are unplayable period, PBEM wow some scenarios are 90 minutes RT or 90 WEGO turns it would take months to play 1 scenario . Like the target buyer I usually play solo but the AI is so bad it isn’t any fun. The few “good” scenarios are puzzle types and once you play them 2-3 times your done. The AI doesn’t do anything (move, counter attack, ect) so once you solve the puzzle what’s the point of playing. Like most people here I have all 3 CM games and this one is by the most realistic and if/when it’s fixed it will be outstanding. I have an ideal on the unit shopping debate going on in several threads how does this sound: players get x number of victory points to spend on their victory conditions. Say I get 1000 victory points to spend as the Syrian player, I spend 500 for killing a M1, 100 for killing a AFV, 100 each for holding ground of my choice ( must be a terrain feature, mosque, high ground etc. and 100 for kill/wounding 10% of the US infantry force. What I chose as my force makes no difference save the fact that I would need something to kill an M1. What if my opponent don’t have an M1, well I’m out 500 points, but I chose to put my points there I didn’t have to. I could have spent 500 points on killing 50% of his infantry or holding the ground. I think a system like this would take care of the debate of how many points for this compared to how many for that. Perfect no but better than what we have now which is nothing. I really want to like this game after 4 years or so of waiting it’s depressing to finally get it and darn near can’t play it because of the well documented problems.
  21. I spent 21 years in the USAF and loved it. I loved it so much I went back in after 9-11 when the AF was taking retirees back for 2 more years. Am I a hero, no, did I ever shoot at anyone, no, did anyone ever shoot at me, no. All I did was my duty as an aircraft maintenance technician. I worked on the F-15, F-16, F-111, F-117, and A-10. There is more to the military than "combat arms." Yes they get to shoot cool guns and blow stuff up but who the FXXX cares. As someone else said the bad guys have cool guns too and just love to shoot at Americans or anyone else for that matter. I've been places and have done thing the average person will never get to do, so yea it's a great career. Hell the taxpayers were nice enough to give me 27K a year as a parting gift. Think Air Force my son. If you really want to shoot people well the AF has people that do that as well.
  22. Capt Johnson is relaxing at home after spending the last 9 months in Iraq and life is good again. But all he sees on TV is more bad news about the lastest "crisis" in the middle east. Bigger than crap the phone rings and the battilion commander is calling all the senior NCO's and officers in for a planning meeting. A few days later the "excute" order comes down and back on a plane they go. The flightline is filled with tears as mothers, fathers, brothers, and sisters load up. Capt Johnson was lucky as no one from his company was killed last time around in Iraq. But this looks serious and he prays this "show of force" will convince Sryians to back down. Arriving in theater things look grim indeed, they quickly deploy to the front and get everyone and everything in fighting shape. Word comes down from the top, tomorrow evening at 2030 the ballon goes up and the game is on. Thats your backstory, the campaign is about a small base unit and how it fight, dies or lives. The solider don't really understand why he's there or care for that matter all he wants to do is go home in one piece. Who cares about all the geopolitical crap it's about Capt Johnson and if he can keep his men alive and complete his objectives. Scenarios are a different story, no backstory needed just fire away.
