OK, things are getting really weird. Dowloaded the master download thanks to a friendly chap sending me the link. Tried to uninstall CMFI and nothing, I mean nothing, disappeared. Again it was like my PC couldn't even recognize the existence of the game. So I manually deleted all the files, restarted and installed from the master file onto an external drive. Everything looks like it always does and no hiccups in the installation process. Great, now only to activate module...but wait, the PC doesn't run the activate new products feature and like above, absolutely nothing happens. Tried to run the game just to see if I would get the game to start and show me that it needs to be activated, but again nothing. CMFI is now Schroedingers Game, it is both dead and alive at the same time. And I'm clueless. Never seen any program behave in this way. Helpdesk here I come.

First time trying with this one installer thing. Confused. The latest via R2V was a 2 GB file and that is called "CM Fortress Italy v210 Updater" which implies that I should have another file. Which?

I checked that too. No sign of a process running either. It'l like the PC decided to uninstall the game on its own but left all the files for show.

Nope. Played PBEMs and used the editor yesterday. Went to bed and today - nothing. Barely touched the PC. My system is Win 10 with no updates since yesterday. I'm downloading the full installer now but sadly the download speed is abysmal. On a 100 Mbit fixed line.

So which of my purchases contains the full download? I have all modules and upgrades.

Looks like a reinstall

I don't know what the install directory is, but I put the EXE on the exclude list and will try what happens. Never have had to put any CM games on exclude to play (Windows Defender). Edit: didn't help, by the way what did you mean by "Joy /s"?

Worked fine yesterday. Other CM games work. When I click shortcut, try to run from .exe or even via Razer Control nothing happens at all. Doesn't seem to try to load, no error messages, no nothing. I have made no changes or updates to my PC since it last worked. Weird and annoying. What should I do/check? And yes, I tried a restart Edit: tried starting in administrator mode as well

That one is not to scale. The last mission in the Polish campaign has a part of the monestary. I have a plan to make a master map spanning St Pasquale - Rapido - Cassino town - Hangman’s hill - Castle Hill and up and including the monestary. What is your interest In doing?

For me, pretty much all the covers of the Airfix toy soldiers are embedded in my brain and when I see them again, now some 40 years later, it brings all those memories back again.

I was under the impression that Gurkha units wore different uniforms and was often used almost like a commando unit doing night scouting and assaults to cause disruption. And therefore had lighter automatic weapons and operated in smaller formations. Guess I was wrong I suppose my childhood mental image of them was this: I found some humour in that Gurka is Cucumber in Swedish and that's why they felt "special".

I like your work. However, the helmets are not mod tagged. Is there a reason for that? I just saw that they blend in with the Indian units.

I saw this a while ago and reacted to that scene in the same way as you did. Remembered reading about similar cease fires in Arnhem. Seemed so absurd that first you try to kill each other, then stop for a humane meeting of fellow beings in a rather friendly way, and then go right back to trying to kill each other again. Both sad and absurd.

Yeah, that was a let down. Maybe the lack of close quarters fighting in CM and the Gurkhas proficient use of their khukuri knife ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kukri ) just wouldn't do them justice if left only with regular weapons. But still....

The maker of the scenario should be proud - this is one fine map. First scenario I'm giving a go with from R2V due to being away from home for a while. But loading up this scenario made me smile and think the lads probably did a really good job with this module. Now onwards to be trounced by my PBEM oppo.

I'm on 431.60 and don't intend to update drivers until I play some game that really requires it.

A close friend of mine is of Maroccan descent and she works as a translator and is fluent in Arabic. Maybe I can ask her to do her best impression of a male aggressive warrior. She is awfully nice IRL so it might be a stretch.
