Once CMSF is finished what is your prediciton for the time scale of development for the WW2 game? I imagine that a fair bit of work will have been done already due to CMSF. Is there alot of work to be done to the game engine? Or a quick change of unit data? What I'm trying to say is are we looking at months or a year +. Thanks

At first I was going to pass on this game. I really couldn't get interested in the setting. However watching those beta movies I'm going to buy. Though it pains me even more it wasn't set during WW2 or even Korea.

I love the soldier faces and info section of the screen. The art is really well done and oozes atmosphere. HAts off to you. The counter style of the top down and side view is another great piece of detail.

I hope ToW runs at a steady pace. First RTS game Ive really have high hopes for since Close Combat. Fingers crossed.

Why not scrap the Middle East idea and either make the fans happy and go with WW2 or a fictional NATO vs WARSAW pact.

Lack of realism and lack of control. Also they usually run way to fast. Close Combat series and more recently the Panther Games series are in my opinion two of the best wargame series made. Yet I usually hate RTS games. They prove it can be done and I have high hopes for this game. If it succeeds then it will be one of my all time favourites.

I hate RTS games. Well a couple of exceptions the Close Comabt series and the Airborne Assault series. However finally we may have my dream game here. The AAR looks fantastic. Im drooling.

WEGO, Atmosphere and you need to think to win.

Getting confused reading that at first. All I could imagine is the World Map covered with gaint dead people. It was only halfway though it dawned on me CORPS! Not taking the mick at all just thought it was funny. I should have got onto to it sooner.

Could well be true. I just think its a risky setting their making the game on. The development costs for a game of this size would be quite large Im sure and I jusat cant see people buying it in droves unless they are counting on all CM fans buying whether their interested in the game era/setting or not. Well to be honest I dont think they will. I love CM but I would never have bought based on this theatre/era. Finally this realtime business is for me the hammer hitting the nail in the coffin. CM was so damn successfull due to the WEGO mechanic. I wait to be proved wrong but Im not optimistic. I too hope Im wrong. The lads at BAttlefront made a series that for me will always be a wargame classic in every sense of the word. Fingers crossed.

On when the offline campaign will be added to the game? Im not buying it until it appears. Thats the major part of the game I really want to play.

WW1 for me aswell. I'd buy into the game then.

I also need clarification. I just wasnt interested in this game ue to the lack of infantry untis. Just seen the word infantry mentioned so decided to have a nose. If this is the case I shall go forth and spread the news to as many forums as possible as Im sure it will prick up ears.

So that means its an RTS game with a pause feature. Surely true WEGO game emchanics are different to RTS game mechanics. As I love CM for its WEGO aspect and I just dont get on with RTS games on the whole. Except Highway to the Reich. I just dont see how it will work and Ive a feeling that those who prefer WEGO and turn based games wont be happy.

Oh boy what a sorry thing to say. So its all right to play as the Russians because Stalin might not have killed as many people within the political timeframe of the Nazi party? 1. Your most likely wrong. 2. What difference does that make for gods sake? You either stand your ground on morals and not play any games set in the East Front and then have the right to speak out against people who do OR you admit both regimes commited mass murder put that to one side and play the game for what it is....a game.

rum, Please take that back. Im stating something that many historians tend to think. Bogdan, Well said. Billy Prior, Its just a game. I think you will find most wargamers want historical accuracy. The scenario you mentioned is just badly designed.
