  1. Airborne Troops were added to the Syrians as part of the Marines Module... https://www.battlefront.com/shock-force-2/cmsf2-marines-module/?tab=toe ... although Battlefront have made a small typo & called it Gustav Line in the description.
  2. I thought they DO provide (some) cover... just not any concealment or hinderance to movement?
  3. Well I've had a few quick google's & your issue appears to be unique (go you!). Only thing I can suggest is posting your issue here?
  4. I've just been using Windows Photo's... it come's with a "Movie-maker-lite". Although now, thanks to these suggestions by other posters, I might try branching out.
  5. Because of the CMSF2 discount. I, again, repeat that I too had issue's getting CMSF2 to run smoothly... on a PC which was running CMA, CMRT & all the other Demo's fine. I too played around with loads of settings & got nowhere. CMSF2 now runs fast & smooth for me. So my suggestion is we try & work out what we can do to improve your CMSF2 experience. For that we need info. Which is why I asked you several questions. BTW "Capping" at 30 fps sounds similiar to what happens on an Nvidia card with the adaptive V-sync (half refresh rate) setting on. For Nvidia, it's designed to cap like that & is meant to help avoid stuttering at low fps... presumbaly your intel card is trying to do something similiar.
  6. That is odd. I find it suspicious that it would happen to all your games at the same time... unless you've copied one game's reshade profile to all the others (so that they're still linked) it seems likely that something else is effecting your reshade (have you installed or updated anything recently?). Try uninstalling your reshade again & unzipping my settings* directly into your game folder... https://www.dropbox.com/s/ib52qwcppsop8ye/cmsf2 reshade Jan'19.7z?dl=0 Assuming your CM is installed in the usual location, on the C drive, that should work as these exact settings were working for me an hour ago. *I have four .ini's
  7. I had a lot of issues optimizing CMSF2 but it runs very fine now. Some tips... -Make sure threaded optimization is OFF on your Nvidia control panel. -One of the biggest issue's I had is with tree foilage. Do you notice any performance difference between say Passage at Wilcox (loads of tree's) & Day at the Beach (only a few palm tree's)? Does performance significantly improve for you if you turn the "tree-trunks" only option on (Alt-T)? -Model Quality is probably the biggest resource hog... Have you made sure to set it to balanced, fast or fastest? You can change the Model Quality via the options screen AND change it in-game with Shift+[ & Shift+]. -Consider "boosting" your system & optimizing it for CM with a 3rd-party program. I use an older version of Razer Cortex... https://game-booster.soft32.com/old-version/ -I'd also check out this excellent post by DeutschRitter...
  8. Thanks for the kind words. Tactically, I was lucky to get off so lightly.... I seemed to forget that IED's exist & ran over several that didn't go off.
  9. DeutschRitter's advice is excellent. One other tip that I've very recently discovered is to use an older version of "Razer Cortex" to "boost" & optimize your system whilst playing Combat Mission. https://game-booster.soft32.com/old-version/ Newer versions of Razer will also "boost" CM... but they unfortunately also disable Reshade. The older versions allow both to run. Since adopting this technique I'm running about as fast as DeutschRitter... however I have a far inferior machine, an old i5, a 1050 Ti & 8GB of RAM.
  10. I thought that initially however I realize now, that because I has uninstalled the Demo, the improved result I was seeing was because the CMSF2 game had no graphics card profile. When I later gave CMSF2, the game, a graphics card profile the "tree foilage issue" reappeared with vigour. So currently CMSF2 is the only BFC title/demo I have without a graphics card profile... I have no idea what setting is causing the issue but, seeing as how the whole point of the graphics card profiles was to allow a smoother game, it kinda shows just how well optimized CMSF2 actually is. Even after saying this... it should be noted that CMSF2 engine 4 tree's are still definitely far more memory intensive than, say, CMRT engine 3 tree's. Because of this I've been playing around with a mod to reduce the foilage... my experiments seem to have had some positive results so far.
  11. One interesting thing that I have found is that, on some campaigns & battles, some of the low walls (or trenches) have been replaced with fences... CMSF1 had no fences. I've seen examples of this in Guardian of the Homeland campaign & the Zawiya militia clashes scenario.
  12. THIS! I've just been using the Win 10 game bar uptil now but have started to notice it performs pretty poorly. The breaking point came a few days ago when I recorded a zippy action scene that I know played perfectly smoothly... & then watched a stuttering "replay" of that action. So far I've had no absolutely no issues with the Geoforce experience, plus it has more customizable options.
  13. Yeah they've been annoying me for awhile. I suspect they can't be modded... hoping I'm wrong?
  14. I loaded up the original Task Force Thunder... the old "breaking the berm" scenario takes less than 30 seconds to load up & turn processing speeds are less than two seconds. Even with Kieme's HD mods, "movie mode" & a bit of reshade my fps is a smooth 30 frames per second (capped*). The performance is light years ahead of the old CMSF1. *The half adaptive refresh rate on my graphics card profile.
  15. Thanks for the kind words, I'm still endlessly experimenting with reshade settings myself (my current ones are already different from what I used for that game). I've experimented with that camera-pan technique occasionally & I'm fairly sure you'll see a lot more of it in future videos.
  16. Quickly perusing through a bunch of the CMSF1 campaigns & scenarios... I've seen no issues yet. It would appear all ~800 (?) scenarios will indeed work with CMSF2.
  17. If you have reshade running you can set up a border which will mask the UI for you.
  18. With all that Syrian Cold-war tech & the possibilities [TAGGING] & the Electronic warfare options bring to the CMSFiverse, there are probably decades of global warfare that can be reasonably simulated. Shame that the Ratel-20's or 90's have no real stand in, a BMP-2 is about the nearest (blind at night & armed with an autocannon)... although perhaps a "conscript" LAV might work?
  19. One slight "oddity", I've realized that early on I must've switched off the tree's & never noticed it when I returned to the game.
