  1. I used a (Visa) Debit card to purchase CMSF2 ten days before Xmas. No issues... yet. Even if they had your card details, how would they get the "secret question" purchase confirmation answer correct? That's administered by a completely different system.
  2. Well this IS the CMSF2 forum. I've not got the WW2 3.1 but, if it's anything like 2.4, you need to download all parts & put them in the same location but, as they are a .ar package., you only need to unzip part 1. The bits & bobs from the other parts will be unzipped automatically along with it.
  3. No, I just checked, Erwin is mistaken. The first link goes to a rar file called HQS3.1. The other two links go to rar files called CMA Ambient & CMBS Ambient. I'm always on the look out for more background sounds, so I'm happy I checked.
  4. Operation Mars... in Taurus? In Taurus? In TAURUS? This is the worst thing I've heard since the Denver Draftdodgers beat the Louisiana Black Socks! You plan to launch a major Soviet offensive under a sign ruled by Venus... a Love Goddess? The real Operation Mars was launched in Sagittarius! A fire sign! The real Stavka may have been cruel & ruthless... but at least they knew their astrology. Can you say the same thing, Steve? Can you?
  5. You laugh & yet how many budding Astronomers have been turned away from purchasing CM because of such failures by BFC? Tens of thousands is my guess...which translates into millions of Dollars worth of sales!
  6. It only requires one download... he just gave three links in case one of them goes down or gets overwhelmed.
  7. I suppose now would not be the best time to bring up the improper Constellations & lack of the Milky Way during night battles?
  8. As mentioned in the video description, I merely recoloured some base game textures. Going into more specifics, I also duplicated & renamed a bunch of British gear (in Vanilla there is a 50/50 chance of a British soldier getting a piece of Woodland gear... I just upped the odds to 100%) & borrowed a CMSF1 Woodland helmet (which did work). Until the proper modders get going, it sufficed in a "squint & don't look too closely" kind of fashion.
  9. Apparently the "lack of multi-core support" is another of those "bad rep" meme's that has gotten around... Key quote: Still, if CM2 were written over from scratch today there would be more use of other processors. Not a ton more, but more than what we added into Engine 3.
  10. Well I did "reinterpret" my orders... I ignored half the objectives.
  11. Like MikeyD, I'm guessing it is purchasing AAA weapons (inc the Technical) or Red air units which is probably causing you your issue.
  12. Alternatively I could stick with the 1080p resolution &, although it looks somewhat less pretty (though better than the vanilla Demo), it'll recreate that scene & play supersmooth at the capped 30fps. Not bad for quite a mediocre system.
  13. Hmmm... is there no option to "load the full resolution"? Either way, you can download the image too (there's a button below & just to the right ).
  14. Unfortunately, in the real world, a bad rep can turn away potential customers far more efficiently than facts & truth can bring them on. The first is simple, the latter takes time. I'd advise (presumably Bill Gates would also advise) a pro-active response to this (again, totally undeserved) bad rep.
  15. Instead of waiting for answers to questions you'll never recieve you might be interested to check out what an optimized CMSF2 can do. This is my current CMSF2 running on Balanced... you'll notice it looks far better than CMSF2 (vanilla) on excellent & yet is 5fps quicker. This is my current CMSF2 running on Fast... you'll notice it still looks loads better than CMSF2 (vanilla) Balanced & yet is almost as quick. Like you, I also use adaptive half refresh rate & so it all plays very smooth.
  16. Thanks man, I've had a few sound issues with the latest one (set in a Jungle) but have fixed them now... it should be up in a few days. I do know about the "remove red cross" mod but I think the red cross helps show what's going on a little easier for viewers... especcially if they're not Combat Mission veterans like a lot of us are. I might try an experiment one day though.
  17. Interesting conundrum, can anyone figure out how these sentances make sense in the same universe? He won't buy something that generally is rubbish until he buys the better computer he already owns which may or may not be already running the games fine at version 4?
  18. I've only been getting back into the "Combat Mission Community" for the past year or so but it's amazing how many times I've come across this "paid patches" or "BFC screw their customers" meme. No matter how many times I point out an engine upgrade isn't a patch & give real-world examples of companies that drop their games after a few years the unhappy individual continues with their stubborn claim. I like the engine upgrade system but its apparently got BFC a bad rep out there on the webs. I have no idea what BFC are planning for CMx3 but I'd recommend an upgrade/DLC policy which tries to counter this (entirely undeserved) reputation.
  19. Skepticism... if someone tells me their intel laptop runs a game better than my Desktop & that it's "horrible" then yes I get skeptical. I had downloaded both demo's to help you out & compared the closest scenarios (Die Festung & Alamo). For me CMSF2 appears to be better optimized whilst looking better generally. CMSF1 Balanced CMSF1 Best CMSF2 Balanced CMSF2 Excellent (the equivalent of CMSF1 Best) All pics are from vanilla demo's with no mods or effects, a 1920x1080 resolution, no graphics card profile, AA & Vsync on, Best Texture quality (I should have downgraded that for CMSF2), shadows on & shaders off, turn-based & Iron.
  20. Difficult to say, as we've yet to determine if you even have an issue. You've spoken of CMSF2 running "horribly" yet have only given reasonable frame rates. You say you've compared the two demo's but, seeing as how both demo's feature different battles & maps, that seems unlikely. You've spoken of a "capping" effect (at a very reasonable 30 fps) which sounds like it must be a vsync/graphics card "issue" & not a demo issue. You've spoken of "trying every combination" of settings (which, again, seems unlikely) but have provided no specific details... even when offered advice & queried. Again, if you want help... we need info.
  21. It's in the collection. Originally it was called Wanat... I've renamed it to "US Wanat".
  22. Across the Canal, the CMSF1 version. You played the game before the patch (hence why there's fences on the map). You might be interested to know that the mission has been updated to version 2 recently.
  23. No, it's CMSF2... but red vs red has enough similarities to make CMA a valuable learning experience.
  24. A nice walk in a river valley with the Syrian Army... ... playing all that CMA came in handy.
