  1. Wow, that's wild. I see what you guys mean as unique.
  2. How about Weinerwald restaurant signs to tack onto large buildings? Back in the day they were quite prevalent.
  3. Would you care to briefly elaborate what makes it different then say a SU-85 code wise?
  4. The 2nd Cav unit had all their vehicles in that scheme including the M-60s.
  5. @ Sarge S. The new vehicles as they arrived were one color what I would call forest green. Like the color in the M-60 below your earlier post. It's also shown there at the front top of the M577.
  6. To anyone who may know. There is (or was) a board war game called Berlin '85. The order of battle included in that game had many problems. In doing some research on a correct OOB I found a vague note that suggested the Western powers augmented their force with German MP units. Does anyone know anything about that? I know the Bundeswehr couldn't have forces in Berlin, but the West Berlin Police had some paramilitary forces which were represented in the game, but that's not what I'm talking about. What I'm asking is German personnel under allied payroll and control (beyond just civilian maintenance people ). Thanks
  7. Found this link to an example: https://www.bing.com/images/search?view=detailV2&ccid=A5ujpCXt&id=78213BCAC0ED1437CEE11182B1D9A6E63B095189&thid=OIP.A5ujpCXtnTP6uCCWB3-bjwHaKe&mediaurl=https%3a%2f%2fwww.tankograd.com%2fhtml%2fimg%2fpool%2f3017+CAMO+5.jpg&exph=842&expw=595&q=1970s+us+army+vehicle+square+camouflage&simid=607996223931288286&ck=84953C402061AEA2A1033A9800437233&selectedIndex=50&qpvt=1970s+us+army+vehicle+square+camouflage&FORM=IRPRST&ajaxhist=0
  8. Back in the late 70's the Cav battalion on my base of the 2nd ACR had this camo scheme of small black, brown, tan, and green squares on their vehicles. Our FA BN CO liked it so much he had us paint our vehicles in the same scheme. I'll see if I can dig up a photo.
  9. I first want to acknowledge the amount of work that goes into creating a game even excluding the coding. I think you're smart to remain focused on the base game for now, and not make promises regarding the future because no one in December 2019 could forecast what 2020 turned out to be. I also want to extend huge thanks to making the game a multi-year setting so we can see the differences between the years. You didn't have to do it, but you did, but you did, but you did, and I thank you.
  10. Sure, the master map thing was a joke, but US Berlin Infantry battalion is listed in the TO&E list, so someone is thinking Berlin.
  11. And will there be a Berlin Master map? Hey, you could use a revised one from Fire and Rubble!
  12. For sure the two German armies as a first module makes the most sense. Probably the BFC team hasn't had a need to think that far ahead but a British/Canadian module would be popular and I think Steve has been wanting to do a modern French Army for a long time. I don't think they wouldn't need a module with the USMC as as I recall no USMC units were slotted for Germany. One brigade of the 2nd Marine Division was to go to Norway and the others to where needed which I suppose could be Germany, but might be somewhere in Greece/Turkey or somewhere to secure Persian Gulf oil.
  13. I'm thinking Battlefront might not have the rights to redo a Soviet Afghan war. As I recall its uncertain who has the rights now and best not to start working on something with unknown legal standing.
  14. Just thought I'd report that the M107 175mm gun was still in use in 1979 . My unit 6/10 FA was such a unit and converted to the M110A2 8" in the summer of 1979 but a big deal was made that we were the first unit in the whole US Army to do so.
  15. Is the Sgt York in the game? (Just kidding).
  16. Did the Chaparral make it into the game? Not that I recall ever seeing one when station in the FRG. in the time.
  17. Yeah, they're like Volkswagen buses. Nothing between the driver and co-driver and whatever you collide with.
  18. Which leads me to ask if Airborne battalions will be part of the initial TO&E. ?
  19. M577 spotted. I don't own Black Sea. Are they in there?
  20. I was a field artillery FDC guy in Bamberg Germany from 1977 to 1980. It's quite a kick to see screenshots of guys in uniforms exactly like I wore. Just thought I'd mention I remember the 2nd ACR battalion on our base upgraded from Sheridans to M60s in 1978. I know this is a long shot but what are the chances the game will include the Gamma Goat? You'll have trucks and jeeps certainly. How about something in between?
  21. IIRC Syria was still using the BS 3 on their Golan front in 2008 which is the year CMSF is set.
  22. Chanting : New Years Bones! New Years Bones! Soon we'll get New Years Bones!
  23. Right. That's really the source of my question from playing CMSF and running into them. CMSF probably has an over representation of scenarios set in built up areas I suppose.
  24. Yes this may be an ill-infomed question. The question comes from playing Combat Mission and not direct experience. And yeah the Bundeswehr and USMC have their rocket launchers but those strike me as requiring a higher skill level to use. The US Army seems to be using the Javelin in a similar manner. It just seems like the simple and cheap RPGs would be a valuable asset in any army. Thanks
