  1. Possible spoiler: I overran in "High Tide at Thala" British positions, and captured about 93 of them during the clean up of the pass and the orchards next to the street. My advance was slow and methodical, mainly because it was a night scenario. I think the combination of firepower concentration and the early possesion of a Victory flag helped to cause this situation.
  2. Look for: "SmallBattles_SighBridge1940" by Wayne "Rutledge" Hans at http://www.dragonlair.net/combatmission SPOILER: The bridge just named had been rendered useless for vehicles by positioning AT - mines (those which can be seen and easily removed) on the bridge. This should represent vehicle wrecks, which had been destroyed during an former air raid and which are then blocking the escape route for the British. Put some Engineers near to the mines and they will clear them (in about 20-30 minutes!) without satchel charges.
  3. I think Tigerkommandant uses http://www.google.com/language_tools?hl=us or the like. Only funny to read, mostly uselessly.
  4. But in the same manner general orders where executed on platoon, company and batallion level(e.g.: "Get that hill, no matter how." against "Get that hill, attack frontally, two Coys up, one in reserve!").
  5. Back to your topic, about German command tactics: On Squad (Gruppe) level the platoon leader gives the order (for example) to advance through a forest. This order must be executed within limits of time and space (2 hours left; do not leave the forest), but the execution of this order in detail lies in the decisions of the Squad leader himself. If he decides (e.g.)to avoid the narrow street because he thinks that its covered by an enemy MG, then he leads his squad through the bushes... Often the minor leaders have a better view of things going on the front than superiors which are back away behind some map tables.
  6. Information received. Is that my scenario(Bn CP)?
  7. 800 - 1000m (I was flying gliders and on a grass strip of this lenght a B25 was able to land during a fly in).
  8. If you do not want to give up your initial defense positions because of your ammo running low, exchange the defending units (a platoon?) with a reserve unit, best during a lull in the fighting. Try to keep the enemy down with MG or artillery fire and sneak the original defenders out of the combat area after the replacements have arrived in your defense line. It is almost impossible to do this, when the enemy is too near.
  9. Bovington (GB) or Overloon (Netherlands)
  10. The speaker said, molotovs should be thrown at the front of the tank in order to blind the driver or at the engine deck in order to shut up the engine. In which year was the movie made? Molotovs and crowbars are some desperate weapons. Do you have the rest of this movie?
  11. A underdog of numbers: My platoon of Tigers against a reinforced Batallion of advancing russian infantry I catched in the open during a rainstorm. Ok, it was a slaughter (kept the tanks moving all the time and encircled the bunch of infantry like Indians did to settlers).
  12. Are there any scenarios for CMAK underway? A remake of CMBO "Vossenack- A scond job" or the like?
  13. The only problem with order is that it cannot combined afterwards with some more or other commands.
  14. You mean to halt in order to fire and then to carry on (charging at the enemy)? Sounds interesting.
  15. But what about the SMG-Squads in the Russian army or in German Volksgrenadier and Füsilier units? Are they only specialised infantry for house-to-house combat or for use in woods?
  16. First it goes fast to first waypont, then stopping and searching for targets, the vehicle waits about 8-10 seconds, before it reverses to the second waypoint. Normally there is only enough time to shoot one round.
  17. I did never know that the allied tanks used other color than in Europe. I think olive drab will do it.
  18. "Things are getting cool", hey, those tanks look like german ones (Panzergrey).
  19. Good morning (GMT)! Thanks for your efforts.
  20. Just curious, how did you "translate" the CMBO Mods for the Chi-Nu to the CMAK? I got heavy problems, forcing me to disengage it.
  21. Splendid work! I have just got your iJA tan Uni Pack and copied them also onto the late war Italians and even Germans.
