  1. CMBN, v4.04... I deployed a Conscript 50mm AT from Truck and moved it at edge of Woods and using the 'Deploy Weapon', but for past few turns its still in Limbered Mode...I figured it would have deployed after couple turn at most. Haven't played with Field Pieces for a longtime so can't remember.

Mortars seem to still deploy roughly on time, depending on Moral, etc.

My Opponent is having same issue with his Conscript 57mm AT in Open Terrain in 'Deployment' mode for past few turns.

  2. I know it's time consuming, but before playing a Scenario I generally go through the whole map and reduce all Trees in a Forest/Wood tile to only have one tree (instead of multiple) while maintaining appropriate ground cover.

I also use trees with taller trunks and higher foliage, instead of ones with low hanging foliage.

Both of the above seems to help reduce the possibility of having unrealistic Tree Detonation happening all the time as enemy tank has less trees to hide behind.

Downside...Enemy (and you) might see further into woods, have less concealment, and it doesn't look as realistic (but I can live with these).

  3. These Downloads solved my problem, and might helps yours:

What did I do? I installed game drivers: Microsoft XNA Framework redistributable 4.0

                                                                      OpenAL (Open Audio Library)

                                                                      Microsoft Visual C++ 2015- 2022 Redistributable (x86)

All Slitherine-infected games are running smoothly, including Cold War

  4. Ok, downloaded from my BF Store/Installed into x86/activated all games and working well...Except CMBN. clicking both 'Play' at activation screen or Icon did nothing.

Now, I did install CMBN to its default setup, which I think said User/OneDrive etc or somefink like that, and didn't start...So, I deleted and reinstalled into x86 and still no start.

  5. Ahh, so probably that's the issue...My earlier purchases were 'Mail Orders' (which I still have the CD Cases), then later years switched to 'Online Orders'...Now I remember that process couple years ago when I first started using the 'Full Installers'.

Will Download/Activate all my WWII Game/Modules, etc and see what happens.

    Thanks again, Costello...err, I mean @BFCElvis 🙂

  6. Ok, I just went from Win 7 (which turns out to be probably fake) to Win 10. So, I have all the Modules, etc and went ahead and started activation of each. However, I went into my BF Orders Page and noticed that I was only able to activate 4.0, Vehicle Pack, and BP Scenario (couldn't find activation codes for others). Now, I thought when I did a full installer couple years ago that I had to activate 4.0 (maybe 3.0...can't remember), CW, Market Garden, BP Scenario, and Vehicle Pack.

So now I can't play CMBN because I can't activate all Modules, etc ?

I'm hoping to find enough time soon to start a CMFB series on Patton's Lorraine battles. I have all the topo and research from producing Command OP's (as yet to be released) "Bradley at Bay" scenarios but I just need the time and inclination to start in. I'm surprised there are only a smattering of battles from this campaign available for CM.

Yeah, I'm surprised there are very few Oct-Nov Battles/Campaigns in CMFB...I guess BF decided to concentrate Scenarios from the Bulge time frame.

  8. Playing a 30+ minute Meeting QB, and both sides did a Cease-Fire early in game (around 10 minutes into game), but game is still going  now for past 3 turns. So, we continue to play normally until Cease-Fire does finally take place.

Is there a certain time that has to elapse before Cease-Fire finally takes effect..I keep clicking on 'Cease-Fire' every turn, but it says; 'Cease-Fire' in effect. Do you want to cancel' (something to that effect).

*Update*...Game Finally over after few minutes of being in Cease-Fire.

Hmm... a 250 in reverse is fairly slow and if the T-34 does not have to make a full swing and ground is fairly level, then such a snapshot can be fairly successfull IMO. Also a buttoned T-34 has the gunner/commander in place already, so can spot and react fairly quickly. All IMO.

Well, not worried about that Snapshot (but that too) as much as the Quick Spotting...I think since all CMx2 WWII Titles are derived from CMSF that the Spotting/Targeting should be toned down a little bit more.

  10. Had a buttoned T-34 (Green, 0 Leader, 0 Motivation) moving around a corner in hopes to shoot at a moving in reverse 250 HT (that I haven't spotted yet in previous turns) at 125 meters. It was able to swing around the corner and spot that 250 HT in one second and Shoot couple seconds later and hit.

I figured it would've taken at least a Full-Spotting Cycle (if at all) before it was able to spot and shoot. By then that HT would've moved out of LOS behind a building/wall.

Gotta Love these Modern Stabilization/Optics in WWII Tanks.

  11. Playing CMFB and in one turn my M4/76 (Green, High Motivation, -1 Leader) was moving in reverse and Spotted, Fired, and Hit a PZIV 75 meters in woods all within a few seconds.

Following turn, same M4/76 was again moving in reverse and Spotted, Fired, and Hit a Self-Propelled Wesp edge of woods at 500 meters. Enemy Wesp was even Stationary that turn with Armor-Arc (my M4/76 didn't) and still managed this.

Gotta love these Modern Optics/Stabilization Tanks in WWII 😞
