  1. Probably, my Americentric view of the world, ya know. I was too lazy to find our email with his location and proper spelling. Basically I correspond with CMers in non English speaking counties. Some of them are uncomfortable posting here. I was just trying to put in a plug for someone who seems nice, and took the time to make a map of where he lives for our enjoyment. While you are here, please comment on the 1stFFS patch plea in the other thread, here or there.
  2. gari has put some battles and maps at TSD focusing on French action and location. I haven't had a chance to play them yet, but the first one is looking good. He lives in southern France.
  3. just a note, the above link is a pdf file. loaded fast for me, but might be slow for others. too bad the pics are small. duh, i could enlarge them. never mind.
  4. Before the patch gets here, I might as well bring this up again. junk2drive Member Member # 13747 posted February 10, 2004 08:56 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject Rangers, Darby's Rangers, 1stSSF, 82ndAB. According to this Grunts.net 82nd AB Grunts.net Rangers Darby's Rangers 82nd pulled to Normandy training 11/43 and not available in cmak in 12/43 Rangers, Darby's Rangers and 1stSSF were in NA, Italy, up the boot and into France through the rest of cmak timeframe. There are no mountain troops available until 1/45. How about giving us something besides regular infantry 12/43 to 12/44? Without having to play the back and forth in parameters game. -------------------- Add to this: These units were trained in para tactics as were Luftwaffe units that didn't get to drop from planes after Crete. FJ and LW infantry are in CMAK late war aren't they?
  5. Shmavis, you need broadband for 10-20kb battle files?
  6. Andrew, if I knew what a breach and breach block are, I could look through the grau bmps for sealion. Some of the 100000 guns use bits from the 3000-4999 range.
  7. Sorry, it's Juju's website I was hinting at. New building pics.
  8. I hope people check out websites now and then for new items. hint
  9. To simulate the above in CMAK, what tanks would you use? (US vs Soviet)
  10. Would it be nice to have variable fog? Set visable distance in parameters? Or light fog, heavy fog, etc.
  11. As the Europeans colonised the world and took their style with them, I find the CMAK Italian buildings acceptable for most theatres outside of CM. As in SE Asia and Polynesia. But when something like Sealion comes along, I have to search for photos to see what kind of rocks are native to the area. As good as OSF buildings are they would be out of place in an area of dark rock. Same with churches. Ed's dark stone churches don't fit with PTO, but Spanish, Italian style do. For me, the more mods, the more I can think of. If you have run out of things to mod, time to move on to buildings. Or take requests, lol
  12. Maybe they will make enough money to hire more help.
  13. On the other side of the situation, I recently played a battle on defense. The enemy poured on the smoke late in the game. Maybe that is all that was left for him. It gave my suppressed troops time to recover and defeat him.
  14. IIRC it was a map from the cd, a river through the middle, a bridge, ME. I was working with some winter mods and wanted to see them. I knew it would take a long time to cross deep snow. I made it 40+ turns for that reason. I also made it frozen so that the river could be crossed. If I could cross 3/4ths of the map, why couldn't the AI find his way across 1/4?
  15. Only to be outdone by the British renaming the lend lease, and extending the concept into force structure.
  16. Building mods are always appreciated, often neglected because they are so difficult. I think the OSF buildings have popped up on more screens than Eichenbaum intended. Patboy even modded the mod. Wacko's like me will always try to depict somewhere, sometime, not intended by BFC. The light colour stone with shutters is a nice change from the pastel stucco of CMAK and the dark colours of CMBB. Keep going.
  17. The battle itself, month, units, size of map. Countries year and weather the same. A axis attack B ME GJK had no problem with A on a PC. He pointed out a comma in the file name may do something on Macs. I renamed A and resent to the Mac. I sure hope they pay you for all your work here.
  18. I took another look at CMAKdb. The French infantry in CMAK late war have available BAR and US mgs, French mgs, and a Vickers. "IF" BFC would give us French troops with Garands, people could do ETO late war, Viet Nam 50's as French and 60's as ARVN, Korea as ROK, or whatever. Something to pacify us waiting for CMX2.
  19. I sent a and b files to a mac user and a pc user. mac could play b not a pc could play a not b GJK suggested my bmp mods can effect the files. All my CM's are modded. Should I not share game files?
  20. Philippe, I have a problem with a cmg battle 24kb file. I send it to one person with a mac and it doesn't work. To another person with a PC and it is fine. I wonder if it is my pc going out or their computers coming in.
  21. You didn't say which game but in CMAK the German AI smokes me alot. SPOILER WARNING . . . . . . . . . . The Valley of Trouble remake as US you have to smoke the pillboxes. I wish there was more of it in CM, but the play balance is designed for the amount allowed. More might screw things up. [ October 06, 2004, 07:05 AM: Message edited by: junk2drive ]
