  1. Problem already fixed In the game installation folder, find the file ww.ini. Open it with any text editor (notepad will do). Find the following line in this file: window=(changeScreenRes=true,colourBits=32,depthBits=24,drawIfNotFocused=false,enableClose=false,enableResize=false,fullScreen=true,height=768,stencilBits=8,width=1024,posx=0,posy= 0) Change values changeScreenRes and fullScreen in it like this: window=(changeScreenRes=false,colourBits=32,depthBits=24,drawIfNotFocused=false,enableClose=false,enableResize=false,fullScreen=false,height=768,stencilBits=8,width=1024,posx=0,pos y=0) You can also try to use only one value, changeScreenRes, set to false. Be careful to leave this line as single... do not accidentally split it in two. Thanks to Anka and Sio for this suggestion.
  2. Gasp Sorry Colonel I just discovered you already posted some stuff about inverted screen. But I agree with you, it would be funnier to have a full screen not inverted

  4. Hi I've been playing CMx for a long time under MacOS As a Mac user (MacbookPro) I switched to Mindows (arghh) using Bootcamp, and I felt happy to play TOW. Unfortunately, the game display is inverted (not very easy to fit with) Video card: ATI Radeon X1600 DirectX9, Bootcamp complements installed and so on. Any solution? Don't answer "use Parallels!", I tried Thanks for helping me
  5. I'm sorry but who cares about Apple vs Krosoft? My question is: is there any hope to get a good tactical game about WWII on my computer? If not, I'll be going to play again with my (old) CMx on my (old) iMac G3 (which works very well and is at least 7 years old, like my son). There are a lot of games I can't play, and with time going on , I'm finally forget them ... Anyway, I'm sure that the Battleground team will try to find a solution I trust you boys!
  6. As an veteran of CMBO, CMBB, CMAK on Mac (OS9! so I've 2 Mac, one for CM, one for OSX), I hope that TOW will be on Mac too (one can dream ...). I hate using @&*soft emulators. Another topic: please don't forget this time cavalry, cycles, motorcycles, armored trains and if possible a realistic bridge for Arnhem. I know that you're doing your best, but we need you to be at 200%! Happy new year !
  7. OK so it is only possible to make a mod for the unarmed Chevys
  8. Unfortunately I suppose it's not possible to play the LRDG with their well-known Chevys and other dusty AFV. Any idea to find a solution? Alex
  9. Bf-109F as Friedrich: probably the best version because the next one (Gustav) had more power but was heaviest and had a worst aerodynamic. Wueger and Würger are both possible in german language. ps: no french nor italian a/c ?
  10. Mac OS 9 or X, who cares when the problem is to get one of these fabulous strategy games? Thanx to Battlefront we already have CM, we should be indefinitively graeful for this and I hope there will be many others Mac products. My dream: - one naval tactical warfare game (kind of Carriers at War but better if possible) - one air tactical and ops warfare game (a new Flight Commander ?)
  11. As I told before, I mean dogfight as the opposite as hit-and-run for example, literally running after the tail of the other one. I'm no trying to explain that there were no dogfights, I just think that dogfight wasn't the main way to fight in the air during the WWII. Of course lot of books focused on dogfights but specialized authors (like Mike Spike or Christopher Shores) have shown that most of the victories were achieved by surprise (hit and run assault for example). The dogfight tactics were a speciality of the japanese naval air force (because they were very well trained, see Sunburst by M. Peattie) or applied by Republican pilots during the Spain war (quickly given up when facing the new incoming Bf-109), but for most of the green pilots it was a suicidal tactic (quite impossible to master). It was different during the WWI, the technology allowed quite only dogfight tactics because airplane could hardly endure high G-forces and could hardly accelerate. It makes me thinking that DiF should be very well fitted to WWI aircombat
  12. I cannot say that I dislike tactical wargames since I'm fond of Combat Mission But as a long playing air wargamer, I never found the real taste of air combat (because it's quite impossible to simulate, that's why I think that ops games should give a better feeling of the true air war). Another thing is that during the WWII there were very few dogfights (unlike during the WWI), people used the shoot and run tactics (it was safer...), dogfight was only one aspect of the air war when the main objectives were air sup or strike or interdiction (and so on). Anyway, I don't mind playing dogfight, I'm just wondering if the ops scale shoud not be more developped , which hasn't be the case since FC II, even if a new game, unfortunately only for Mac, is incoming: War over Vietnam ps: I used also to play to Squad Leader (Mmm, with that you should guess my age
