btw i renumbered the tbm bare trees and made a new bmp from a tree and brush. let me know if you want a copy. i use ed's cmbb trees but you need to renumber them. go into the editor, set to dec 44, italy, dirt. mud, cold. make a random map. you will have bare trees, pines with no snow. now change to light snow, cold, preview again. now snow and frozen. water changes too. even with no snow on the ground, frozen will make water you can walk on. snow and cold = liquid. i think this is correct.

the problem for trees is in the parameters. it must be winter and frozen for the tree bmps with snow to appear. you would have to have a set of snow covered trees numbered for no snow bmps and swap them in for the battle. make sense?

i know nothing, but did you use bb ak size map? too big for bo?

there is a hotkey that makes units larger, the floss becomes string. good for old eyes like mine.

my nephew ordered the game online. he plans on coming to visit 14aug weekend. there is a review at wargamer.com memoir_44 (one of the comments, a para air drop is dropping the little guys on the map, lol too cool) there are fansites and a scenario site. looks like something you can enjoy and bring the young ones into wargaming. those of you more familiar, is this a blend of boardgaming and miniatures gaming?

i have 4.7 still no fog. but it would probably annoy me anyway. from screenshots i've seen, it's not that big a deal.

reading this thread brought back memories of playing axis and allies with my teen son, nephew, my daughter's ex-boyfriend and fiance. best overnighter and never again got that group together. they have grown up with families and i've since moved four hours drive away. my wife saw my nephew recently. he wanted to know about my cm stuff. he's a dod and fps player. low and behold he sent me this today "memoir 44" http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/10630 he wants to buy it and come visit us. cool. it is supposed to take 30-60 minutes to play.

i got ride of my old gamma problem by uninstalling rage3dtweak. i installed the latest drivers. no matter what i set the in game gamma to, when i minimize or exit the game, my screen is lighter. if i open ati control panel, it refreshes the screen automatically to the correct shade. is there a setting i can change? or a hotkey?

not one to leave things alone, i loaded the light treebase into irfanview. i lightened the bmp by 5 each time until i had 1870-1889. zipped up with the dark treebases, you have a terrain with patches of green, and at high elevations, a crusty windblown look.

i was pondering that question yesterday. i went through all the descriptions of cmbo battles at der kessel. but i agree there was a link to a list.

real life killed board games for me long ago. age killed my desire for rts. cm killed my desire for turn based hex games. i cant believe more sp players dont make the move to cm. but i do see some names from those forums here.

re: free hosting i went to juju's site last night and got a warning from mcafee that a trojan program got in my temp file. it deleted it. i suspect it was the advertising necessary on the site.
