  1. khamsin. Played that one with two opponents at the same time via PBEM. It was enjoyed by all.
  2. Disregard. I panicked, went to the forum posted this. Then when I calmed down, I restarted CMAK, and it worked fine. Good thing I don’t have to play under live fire!
  3. I installed the new windows update having something to do with GDI and I noticed I can't turn on "bases" for the units and I do't get the yellow box aroung the selected unit during the movie phase. This is on CMAK. I haven't tried to play BB or BO with the new update yet.
  4. "Peace Negotiations" have been used in an attempt stall successful offensives and this could have been the case. It would be interesting to know what preparations Stalin was doing while offering peace.
  5. No actually I found it quite amusing He is a very good opponent and I need all the help I can get!
  6. Yes I would like to see the other T-34! What no screen shot? Ah come on! See you in Moscow! Chiavarm
  7. If I remember correctly, Hitler had ignored words of caution from his generals in the past and had huge success. Not because he was a genius or the generals were wrong, but because the Allies were incompetent and slow to move. I would also be willing to guess there was a great deal of fear after his success in Poland. There was a battle in Russia where the Germans were surrounded and they were supplied by the luftwaffe. The size of the army was substantially smaller than that at Stalingrad and the battle took place in the summer, which made supply by air feasible. The notion has been put forth that Hitler believe he could duplicate this success at Stalingrad. In a sense, I believe Hitler’s early successes were due to his audacity and good use of propaganda compounded by Allied incompetence.
  8. Other than a side/rear shot does the pzIII have any chance against the t34? In two pbem games they ca't seem to knock out the t34 from the front at any range. I have some success with side shots but once the t34 spots my III, I am toast! [ January 24, 2006, 02:23 PM: Message edited by: chiavarm ]
  9. Stumbled onto this site and thought it looked interesting but I don't know Russian. I guessed correctly the link for maps. Thought others might be interested who know Russian or don't mind. PKKA
  10. IIRC the manual suggests that the "movie" is just a graphical representation of units, their positions and line of sight. It is possible while the two vehicles are not in LOS in the picture, they are in effect represented in different locations via the variables in the algorithm.
  11. Their initial positions (line astern), I gave all three “Fast Move” keeping the line astern formation with a path to the depression near the objective flag. At the depression, the first tank kept a path straight ahead to flank the stug on his left, The second tank (hq) was given a path around the house with the objective flag then turn right toward the stug. The last tank was given a path to turn right, with gentle turns so as not to spend too much time rotating, this path approached the map edge, then gentle left turns toward the stug. Each path ended approx. 100 yards from the stug, at different angles (0, 45 90). All of the tanks made it to the depression, no problem. At the break out the stug targeted the HQ (funny how the AI knows which one is Tried again last night and came up with a maneuver that worked, with the three tank s in the HQ), which made it to the objective flag. At this point the AI had to chose which way to rotate and it cost him. The last tank in the line ended up bogging then immobile but still got the shot and took out the stug. The Germans surrendered and I went to bed. Jason You are causing me to lose sleep!
  12. Started the series last night and ran into this brick wall (102) tried some different methods but no luck. I ran a t34 far left and fast. The stug tracked him and shot at him but did not score a hit so I sent the other to out to engage the stug from the side and they could not hit that stug. The poor decoy ran out of map, took a hit, then died. The hq unit was in the middle, started to reverse, the stug turned and killed the t34 on the right. That left me with just the hq which did not last long. On another try I rushed the stug and was suprised how close the t34's got to the stug. I imagine the t34's accuracy were way down because they were moving fast, but the stug did not score a hit until the t34 ware 100yds away. They were toast the three of them went down fast. I have not given up yet. Nice Job Jason!
