  1. Maybe some of you remember this topic. There were a lot of good reactions to it, positive and negative. You didn't got fooled by some nice pictures but tried to give some real arguments. If you couldn't respond to that before but you would like to, go ahead... It's not a list of 'what I want' but 'what might be missing' : <HR><table width="80%" border="0" cellspacing="2" cellpadding="2"><tr> <td width="10%"><div align="center"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox" value="checkbox" disabled></div></td><td width="90%"><s>Horses (with or without wagons)</s></td></tr><tr><td><div align="center"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox2" value="checkbox" disabled></div></td><td><s>Motorcycles</s></td></tr><tr><td><div align="center"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox3" value="checkbox" disabled></div></td><td><s>Bicycles</s></td></tr><tr><td><div align="center"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox43" value="checkbox" checked></div></td><td>Antitank objects (Concrete Pillars, Steel Crosses etc..)</td></tr><tr><td><div align="center"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox42" value="checkbox" disabled></div></td><td><s>Bulldozers</s></td></tr><tr><td><div align="center"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox4" value="checkbox" checked></div></td><td>Closed trucks (with canvas)</td></tr><tr><td><div align="center"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox5" value="checkbox" checked></div></td><td>Train Station</td></tr><tr><td><div align="center"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox6" value="checkbox" checked></div></td><td>2 meters tall stone walls</td></tr><tr><td><div align="center"> <input type="checkbox" name="checkbox7" value="checkbox"></div></td><td>Telephone poles</td></tr><tr> <td><div align="center"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox8" value="checkbox"></div></td><td>Stairs for slopes</td></tr><tr><td><div align="center"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox9" value="checkbox" checked></div></td><td>Dirt tiles</td></tr><tr><td><div align="center"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox102" value="checkbox" checked></div></td><td>Abby's / Cloisters</td></tr><tr><td><div align="center"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox103" value="checkbox"></div></td><td>A Real dropping of paratroopers (falling out of the sky)</td></tr><tr><td><div align="center"> <input type="checkbox" name="checkbox10" value="checkbox"></div></td><td>On map artillery (for use with target referention points)</td></tr></table><HR>
  2. Missionbriefing A2 : <hr> Mission : Rumänische Torte Date : June the 12th Place : Sevastopol Region SE Grid : A2 Move : South to North German Command : General von Manstein Force : Part of the 22nd Infanteriedivision and the 7th Romanian Heavy Artillery Regiment <hr> Please sit down Herr Oberst and let me explain the situation. The Romanian friends launched an attack on enemy positions while you were carrying out your mission with Hauptman Swartzekätze. They tried to penetrate the area by advancing onto the hill from out the south side, close to the captured runway in A1. Due to an heavy counter attack they were forced to retreat. Because of the great importance of this area we will support the Romanians with a 2nd assault from the East. This operation must be carried out by the book to ensure a successful clearance of this hill and the harbor near the Charnaya river in the North. The road '15(12)A' is of great strategic importance for us. It leads us to Inkerman and the coastal batteries sited near the harbor of Sevastopol city. I have arranged a few rounds of a small railway artillery gun for you. Von Manstein was not happy with the delay here so he signed those orders right away. Together with some detachments of the 7th Romanian Artillery Regiment you will have the force to break the line and punch right through the heart of the Russian pocket on this side of the Charnaya river. Our intelligence department has a full report about your troops and the environment. Good luck Herr Oberst. <hr> Click here to download (Sevastopol_A2.zip - 84KB) [ September 02, 2003, 07:10 AM: Message edited by: eichenbaum ]

  5. Cripes, that's Sunday taken care of Morning or Afternoon? so I can plan when to eat and drink.... </font>
  6. Release Mission Rumänische Torte (A2) tomorrow, 31 August !
  7. SPOILERS : Tanks Kelly. That's a good and useful report. Did you use smoke for your advance in the open field ? You got that right about the roadblock. If you advanced with the guns you could have got a nasty surprise. A2 will be 3km deep to. As in B1 the window battle is only 2km deep. You need to advance more then 1 km before the end of the map becomes visible. Then all access codes will be visible to. So how smaller the window battle, how faster you need to move towards the objectives.
  8. Yes. The result was that I wasted too much time on lateral movement in the first battle. Combined with other factors, it led to my not making it to the end of the map. Since I don't like playing the same scenario twice, I now have a wee problem... </font>
  9. The new map is about 200 km wide. The old version 16 km. And the old version has the wrong scale (200%). You won't be playing all over the new map but on specific locations. Terrain where a war can't be fought will be left out (such as rough mountains etc). In the end you'll have almost the same amount of ground gained then you would with the old map. So don't worry about that.
  10. Did anybody combined the forces in B1 as described in the mission briefing ? What were the results of that decision ?
  11. Playing other games then the ones you've made is called Marketing. You'll only play them in the closet if they're really bad and you don't want anybody to it see it. Nothing wrong with that.
  12. Steve, The post office told me I couldn't export that much nickel out of Europe. Also does the post stamp cost a lot more then the value of the package. Don't you know some other a bit more lighter product that Seanachai is allergic to ? I do have an old RIVA-TNT 34MB card for him. It's a bit lighter and as useless as the old Dutch nickel coins I was planning to send over sea.
  13. Hey, impatient customers. I like that! A2 is still being tested (and refined). This scenario is a bit larger then A1 or B1. Maybe a week or so and it will be tested enough for the release. What do you think JaegerMeister ?
  14. Yes, that's a very nice post that YankeeDog wrote there. Thanks YD! It describes perfectly what's Operation Storfang is about. A while ago I was playing the (very nice) Bliztkrieg operation from the CMBB CD with PBEM. I think that was the trigger for me to make the maps a bit larger the usual. Gee, I'm almost speechless
  15. <center> Here is an impression of how the Operation will take place : (Please don't 'quote' this post, this pic is too big) </center> [ August 25, 2003, 05:03 PM: Message edited by: eichenbaum ]
  16. No, certainly not. With the access codes from A1, B1 and A2 you'll get some advantage with the new interface. Just keep the codes somewhere.
  17. A2 will be the last mission with the 'old' interface and strategic map. You can see A1, B1 and A2 as preview versions of what you can expect from us. If the new interface comes out you'll be starting somewhere else. Because we have also found old maps (Russian) of the whole strategy of Störfang you'll be playing similar battles but with different names and on different locations. It will get more realistic, more historical and more well thought of. The idea stays the same, maybe smaller maps and less units on it. A2 is huge. This will buy us time to develop and release our new interface. A1, B1 and A2 won't be seen in the new setup. They'll be left out but the strategic map is so huge that I that I think it won't be a problem. [ August 25, 2003, 04:18 PM: Message edited by: eichenbaum ]
  18. I do not fear criticism. Your reply is welcome in any form. Your ideas and of others are important to me. All the posts will certainly have influence on the development of Operation Störfang.
