  2. And Andrew, your mods are very nice! If people get upset by the realism of those then its their problem and not yours. Keep up the good work.
  3. Yes, thank you all for supporting me! I really appreciate that. Tanks again. Nils
  4. For anyone who's interested, there's a preview available of A2 : A2 Preview (Sevastopol_A2_PREVIEW.zip) There's nothing to play, it's only a preview of the map ! The playable version will be released soon after it has been fully tested
  5. You know that I'm working on a 3d model of the conference room of the Reichstag (old version). How shocking those imprints on the chairs might be ? mmmmm.... what about those images on Discovery Channel ? You couldn't do any documentary's about Adolf ? 6. The eichenbaum website as it is now has everything to do with Operation Störfang. It's history. We can't do anything about that. It was on my planning list that as soon as I had finished I would make a Russian version. It WAS a swastika in the picture. If you look close you can see that is made blurry and bumpy. That is to make it unrecognizable. You're offended about what is left of it. To me it's the same as making a movie that takes place in WWII. You'll find these sign clearly visible all over the film. You should concern about organizations who do sympathize extreme right sided movements. Not some graphics on a website of a wargame. Games are made for fun, you're displaying it in a bad daylight. I don't think that's fair. Go on and scan the internet for real neo-nazi sites and make them life miserable. Never, I repeat never did anyone asked me about the graphics on my site in that way. And I have had visitors from many countries such as Israel. And if it would make you feel better, I'm willing to make my logo more blurry. But where is gonna stop ? You could go tell anybody not to pick the German side in CM because the might get extreme right ideas. (typo) [ August 17, 2003, 07:53 PM: Message edited by: eichenbaum ]
  7. I have added a statement on my site : This site has nothing to do with any political issues. The information you'll find here is only about a wargame called Combat Mission. It will make clear that I don't have any sympathy with nazis or extreme right sided movements so ever. You have truly insulted me by saying I do. These are false accusations and you should stop doing that. I'm sorry if your offended in any way. This is not the attention to do so. So stop offending me. And about law, you have taken material off my site without any permissions. By this way you have offended the copyright law !
  8. It seems to me that some people do have a big problem with this forum topic ( and with me ). The last reply's don't have anything to do with the subject of this topic anymore. Maybe it's better to close this before it gets out of hand. There are accusations made in the last few posts that which have gone too far. My website has nothing to with any political issues. It's only about Combat Mission. Nothing more and nothing less. <HR> I want to thank you all for posting you thoughts and ideas. I've learned some new things. <h1>Topic Closed !</h1>
  9. There is always somebody eager to play such a game. Usually somebody with no social life but lots of paranoid delusions of grandeur who will spend an entire sleepless weekend hunkered down in front of his computer. But I'm in your camp on this. I'm even starting to find battalions a bit much to handle and still enjoy the game. I think I will soon go back to playing reinforced companies. Michael </font>
  10. You're right Bertram. They ought to be placed somewhere. After the changes that were made from the 1st version these troops didn't got the right location. Thanks for the tip! A1 has been updated and this platoon is now at its place :
  11. Reinald, You don't have to insult me to get your point. I don't know what your problem is and I don't want to know really. If you can't go into a normal discussion you shouldn't respond at all. You like or dislike kinds of gameplay, but trying to make it something personal doens't get you anywhere. What furthermore irritates me is your oscillating between a mission oriented snatch-the-General FPS and a grand strategy game. No game can fill both slots. I got the impression your wish list is not well thought over. Whinnie! </font>

  13. I'm not forcing anyone. Nor you nor the BFC team. I only asked some opinions about objects that might be interesting or not. I respect the comments that are given. CM is the only game I play. It's a great game and BFC really did a good job! Thanks.
  14. If CM is forced in any way, nobody will force you to play it that way. Any one is free to pick the gameplay they like. So, if you see this kind of gameplay pop up anywhere, just ignore it. Nils
  15. Ok, point taken. The motorcycle goes off the list. <HR><table width="80%" border="0" cellspacing="2" cellpadding="2"><tr> <td width="10%"><div align="center"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox" value="checkbox" disabled></div></td><td width="90%"><s>Horses (with or without wagons)</s></td></tr><tr><td><div align="center"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox2" value="checkbox" disabled></div></td><td><s>Motorcycles</s></td></tr><tr><td><div align="center"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox3" value="checkbox" disabled></div></td><td><s>Bicycles</s></td></tr><tr><td><div align="center"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox43" value="checkbox" checked></div></td><td>Antitank objects (Concrete Pillars, Steel Crosses etc..)</td></tr><tr><td><div align="center"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox42" value="checkbox" disabled></div></td><td><s>Bulldozers</s></td></tr><tr><td><div align="center"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox4" value="checkbox" checked></div></td><td>Closed trucks (with canvas)</td></tr><tr><td><div align="center"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox5" value="checkbox" checked></div></td><td>Train Station</td></tr><tr><td><div align="center"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox6" value="checkbox" checked></div></td><td>2 meters tall stone walls</td></tr><tr><td><div align="center"> <input type="checkbox" name="checkbox7" value="checkbox" checked></div></td><td>Telephone poles</td></tr><tr> <td><div align="center"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox8" value="checkbox" checked></div></td><td>Stairs for slopes</td></tr><tr><td><div align="center"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox9" value="checkbox" checked></div></td><td>Dirt tiles</td></tr><tr><td><div align="center"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox102" value="checkbox" checked></div></td><td>Abby's / Cloisters</td></tr><tr><td><div align="center"><input type="checkbox" name="checkbox103" value="checkbox"></div></td><td>A Real dropping of paratroopers (falling out of the sky)</td></tr><tr><td><div align="center"> <input type="checkbox" name="checkbox10" value="checkbox"></div></td><td>On map artillery (for use with target referention points)</td></tr></table><HR>
  16. <h1>A2</h1> is being tested right now. A small problem is that almost all of the test players are on holyday. So...... If there are advanced CMBB players who have the time and like to test a huge operation please contact me! It is important to have plenty of spare time and the patience to wait for the AI's turns (a decent system like a Pentium 4 and >= Geforce III is a must). You need also like to write the testing reports and post them on a restricted forum. After its release these testing reports will be available for every visitor on our website. My e-mail address : eichenbaum@eichenbaum.org
  17. So ? You can order the crew with disembark to leave the motorcycle and go back anytime with the order embark. While the crew is away the status of the motorcycle will show 'abandoned'. I can't see any major changes in the game-engine except that specific vehicles need to be altered in a way that the crew can return after abandoning it.
  18. Ligur, The AI does move units after the first setup. It's starting position is always the same, it doesn't matter how often you start the game. But the AI is very selective in the units that are about to move to a certain point. Recon vehicles will be used for their task. You can also expect counter attacks or spontaneous partisans running towards you after they have spotted your units somewhere. It makes the game a bit more dynamic. But large fortified positions will be left alone most times because the AI 'knows' it can't just leave the trenches or foxholes because of their strategic value. I have seen the AI moving small AT guns but never encountered a bigger gun like the 76.2 mm on the move. Don't expect large migrations then except for the reinforcements which need to be transported to the frontline. So... use your artillery, you don't have all the time of the world. Arty planning in the field does take a while. Good luck & lots of fun ! Eichenbaum
  19. If you take the HQ system with those lines that display the connection between them. If they get out of reach the lines turn to black. This system already track the parameters such as the distance between the units, if there's a communication device available and the status of the unit (shocked, routed etc.) I believe its a small change to suppress the borg spotting if the units are not ordered by the player.
  20. Borg spotting can be removed from CM if communication between units can only be established with radio's, telephones, shouting, pigeons and men on fast moving vehicles like motorcycles, kübelwagens, horses and bicycles. Programming extra vehicles can't be that much different from programming a kübelwagen. And if you can program units on ski's why can't you make a unit on a horse or on a motorcycle ? BFC did a lot of programming before. CMBO and CMBB don't have to be changed if you asked me. Just giving some ideas for future CM versions (like CMAK or CMX2). ps. If you're wundering about the pigeons ; it's just a joke ! [ August 16, 2003, 09:11 AM: Message edited by: eichenbaum ]
  21. If you place your units in treches the foxhole will disappear underneith the trench. You'll have to try it if you're still able to select the holes in the foxhole placement mode. But I guess that not many players will notice that these foxholes are there untill they move the trench to another position (if it's not locked in the editor). The units that have a dig-in status while they're in a trench, they'll certainly have more advantage then units that aren't. [ August 16, 2003, 08:50 AM: Message edited by: eichenbaum ]
