  1. If it isn't too much work I might have a look. Send the lagenda to my e-mail adress, I'll see what I can do for you. Nils
  2. If you have smoke grenades create a screen just in front of the AT gun and then use an area target command with HE grenades/shells (as described above). The most inaccurate guns are the best types for the job. They create a wider pattern of impacts, dropping shells even in and behind the smoke screen. While the AT gun is being supressed you can move your tanks into position. If the gun hasn't been destroyed you're able to take it out with your tanks. The gun crew needs time to stand up from cover and aim correctly.
  3. Sven, I thought I recognized the fires on the background. They're from the airstrip on the west side of the map right ? Glad you like it Good luck with the battle ! Nils
  4. Played Blitzkrieg as Russian PBEM with a friend. If those 76.2's can have a lock on your tanks they're toast! In the pic you can see the destruction of such great AT-gun... Also knocked out several tanks and PSW's with the ampulomets. But if those molotov-launchers are out of amo they'll remain quite harmless untill the end of the operation. 1941 was a bad year for the russians. 6. Héééé Remko, Goed om je weer eens te zien Thanks for the cheering. Nils
  7. I'm sure that the crew of the BA is influenced by the fire that surrounds them. Indeed it's too bad that there are no graphics to show you "why?". Sure you can point a lot of scenes that aren't shown in CM. Maybe it has something to do with the amount of time available for the development of such scenery.
  8. Well thanks again Benpark. This shot is only a 'peek behind the curtain'. The final 3d map will be filled with objects (forests, towns etc) Supplied with spoken missionbriefings and visual signs to display the flow of the operation. Nils (I shouldn't write too much but go working on it instead )
  9. (about the campaign systems that were mentioned) Eichenbaum.org is working on a campaign system that runs with CMBB. Items like reinforcements, reaching objectives, air support etc etc... are implemented in this system. Without re-programming CMBB it self the development of such system is a very time consuming task. That's why we're able to create only one campaign. One thing we have to keep in mind. CM is a tactical wargame, not an operational. If you're able to play a campaign you still need to set the actions for every unit. CMBB doesn't work to well with "just go to that location and see what happens", you'll be loosing a lot Playing a campaign does take lots of time. And for what I know is that a 1/2 of the CM players do not want to spend that much time on only one bunch of scenario's. Then you have the players who only like to play human vs. human. I can't imagine an whole campaign playing with 2 men be fun for both. So... CM should be supplied with an campaign system build in, but this system shouldn't be the core that CM runs on. 10. Combat Mission is a game. You can't really compare it with a true W.W.II battle. Since you're the player of a particular scenario, you'll set the level of realism of the battle. No scenario designer can prohibit the gamy side of it all. Designers can try to simulate an historical battle. Like myself for example. I'm creating scenario's where every street, building block, forest, hill... (well almost everything) is on it as it was in that year, with an accuracy of ca. 10 meters. Still I need to set-up a situation of a battle that would never have taken place but the men and material were there. The realism of history goes as far as the designer has the information of that battle and is willing to implement it. I think that a true-historical-perfect-simulation of an Operation is a very sleepy business. You'd get bored if you played it with with CM.
  11. Thanks 86smopuim. Yes we're working on a campaign system. Operation Störfang Greetings, Nils
  12. Hi Sycander, Welcome to the BFC forums ! You're talking about CMBO, but this is the CMBB forum. Maybe you want to re-post this message there Greetings, Nils
  13. For the ones who are interrested... Operation Storfang V2 Interface in development : We're developing a 3d enviroment for operational planning. (It's still in development, the final result will be diferent)
  14. I cry at weddings, does that count? Michael </font>
  15. eeeewwwww.... gridded grass mod  Try grass mods with high contrast instead. The color of the tiles is depending on the height. Gridded grassmod can turn your map into Lego©-land
  16. It's restricted. A 'campaign wizard ' seems a bit too much for me to develop for now. I'll be glad if it works for just one. Sorry.
  17. Hell of a weekend Friday Got home tired. Full time job, so I was a bit delighted to enter a new end-of-the-week. After working for months on a campaign-system for CMBB it was about time to start with the design of some scenario's which are going to be implemented in a campaign. Told the scenario testers they would get the missions (for testing) real soon. To make a clean start and a fast running CM I un-installed the game to reinstall it again. Now on a even faster HD. After countless times of repeating the installation process I finally came to the conclusion that the CD-ROM had a small scratch on the surface. Nothing worked to get those files from CD. (Cleaning, Polishing, Rubbing, Vaseline, copy the installation package to the HD etc...) Saturday Going for shopping. A new CD-ROM or maybe even the new special release. Nothing, niente, nada, helemaal niets ! Sunday My brother doesn't understand why he has to return the game I gave him a while ago. "It's for a good cause... the customers are waiting" The installation runs smooth. 115 MB of patches And then the screen turned to black. Nothing seems to work. Have all the latest drivers, turning off anti alias, etc... And then there was a XP hotfix I cannot remove. And after all it was only a reinstallation of a game I was running every day for some time now... How do I surpose to go without my Combat Mission ??? I'm really... really [badwords]   ^@#$%^& [/badwords]
  18. The Blitzkrieg Operation is my favorite CMBB scenario SPOILERS : The Russians have some 45mm and 76.2 mm AT guns. They're placed in a way that they cover a wide area on the map. If you're lucky the AI will try to move them to another position. But that's luck... You should try to find the area's which aren't covered. There're a lot of gaps where you can sneak (with a fast move) through with your tanks. It's possible to get behind the line-of-defense and attack from behind. Your mortars and heavy artillery should be able to suppress the AT guns while your advancing. The dugged-in 76.2 mm AT guns are real killers for those early tanks like the StuGIII & Pz38. Then you'll have the big forest in the middle of the map. That's a true challenge. Be carefull for those Russian SMG squads. And don't underestimate the power of the ampulomet.
