    The old mods are based on the British overalls & they kind of fit on the Italian uniforms (plus we get to keep the Italian putees). For the officers I went with the original mod style (German luftwaffe models with the British overall textures).
    It'll do for an early alpha but obviously will need some work.
    Perhaps the polygon count is too low as, currently, the helmet isn't very smooth?
    This morning I did manage to convert the Makin map into CMFI*, so I just need to spend some time swapping the Brits for Italians & we're good to go...


     
    *Very weird one... a simple hex edit didn't work initially so I, naturally, assumed I had to swap out the tall bocage.
    I couldn't see the bocage in the editor because of all the trees so I decided to alpha out the editor tree tiles. Feeling pleased with myself, I then quickly swapped all the "tall bocage" tiles for low bocage.
    Afterwards, the hex-edit worked & I loaded the map up into CMFI... to my great surprise the tall bocage was still there & it turned out that I had swapped all the hedges for low bocage!
    Why this allowed the hex edit to work I'm not too sure.
    Either way, I created a tag [half] to thin out the tall boccage as per the original mod & map design as well as another tag [island] for the ocean horizon.

    That's great N!
    Now you have the Blender file you can try new things with this one. I did wonder about options like an open topped one, filled with rubble as part of a barricade, not sure what the interior of the tram would do, it might need work so that it's texturised. Also thought about having one flipped on its side, but the underside is not that good. You should be able to make extra versions, just remember to have unique textures to get them predictably appearing in game.

    Yes for sure. And as we've shown there's nothing particularly secret nor proprietary in the models, all we want to do is have some fun and make the games better, where's the harm.
    😆 
    This could be the start of a whole new CM series.
    We need some fugees to go with it. Or you could stick one of the hay stacks in the cart ... or add some milk churns in there ... or fill it with cabbages, hours of fun.
    Are those air conditioners in the cart?

    This is a very sensible suggestion, though not sure how it could be administered. You're right though JM we will probably suffer chaotic scenes. Definitely useful having a list of what people have done.

    Hmm, don't know what might prevent it opening in the hex editor, nothing extraordinary in there, maybe a file size issue, but then again ... that's very odd, I thought an umlaut would be part of a standard character set in any system. Ironic that it affected a native German speaker! I will modify the folder names to use the ae. Dang that annoying! Thanks for discovering this Harry. And, thinking aloud ... maybe a character set issue is causing the hex editor issue, I wrote out the files on my Mac so perhaps the character set MacOS uses, being different than the character set a Windows PC uses is enough to cause these weird errors?
    Front of the Pz IV turret is quite a small target and very low to the ground. I had a few plough up the pavement before hitting home. Most often the first round to hit will destroy it.
    Hehe, dragon's teeth and mud this week. Will have some mud sets for you to sample. Could use some feedback.

    Thanks Erwin. Whichever you're referring to is useable one way or another ... take the Bodenstaendig Pz IV for a spin, take one of the ponies for a ride ... though they might be  little stubborn 😉

    Yes, agree. But the stuff I release here is just "test objects" for everyone to toy around with though. No official type mods of mine. And yes would surely be nice to get sort of an overview with the many mods scattered along the various flavor type slots. Hard to keep an overview with many the stuff competing with each other re slot occupation.
    I could well imagine these beeing flavor objects placed on or beside roads. German retreat roads and such (Falaise44...). But horse and carriages, well if there´s a taker for this. 😁 We´ve a couple guns that might work maybe. I.e german IG18 and 33, as maybe some the Pak.

    Happy that some human have a heart for animals.
    Just a word about FOs name.
    With the time and news creation of FO's for everybodys of us I think this will be interresting to keep a document words or exel with used FO's.
    Imagine the fiasco when we are using the same name for another object from another author and rename it when a mod is already installed?
    I am busy now to completed an exel doc with all FOs available in all CM series, that I have, with FOs that are present in folder but also not present in the editor, also the ones  personly I am used, if interrested I will
    share it when is done.

    LOS ain´t that good for the P4 anyway. Always getting the "spotter is hull down" thing which is normal in this case. But that fourth T34 wasn´t spotted when the commander was still unbuttoned. He closed hatch only after getting 2nd or 3rd MG salvo from that frontally sneaking russkie. Fortunately russkie was a bad shot as first round unleashed on the P4 fell short couple meters in front of it. It likely aimed at center of mass which off course is behind/below ground mesh. Hopefully BFC will teach the AI to shoot at things that it can see actually . Annoying, though lucky for the P4 this time. 😅
    same here. Bits of played around with Blender 2 years ago, then forgot about it again.

    Yep, just half the crew can see anything (hull down) but it´s odd the unbuttoned commander got surprised by tank just few meters in front of him. Took 3 MG salvoes and a gun shot to wake him up. lol He was lucky he didn´t get killed staying up for so long. I´d likely set morale 1 or 2 notches lower. Beeing crack experience is just sufficient for overall performance as is +2 leader rating.

    Got it "fixed"! But that was an unexpected one. Tried opening the P4 MDR with my hex editor, but it refused loading with an error message. Never seen something like that before. But then I noticed mod folder name contains an umlaut "ä" and replaced it with "ae" instead. So that did the "fix". lol 😅 No idea who else could´ve the same problem like me, but I´d go sure with folder name. Do "Berlin Bodenstaendig Pz IVG" or just avoid our nice little umlauts generally.🤪 Nothin else changed with my install btw. Same files and structure than couple hours earlier.

    I can't recall tea plantations in my vague memories of reading about the fighting in Burma and it seems unlikely to me that there were many tea plantations on Pacific Islands.
    To be honest, we need some Asian-Pacific War grogs really.
    Funny aside, grape plantations are suprisingly common in modern Vietnam... French influence and all.

    I made it a bit more hi res and texturised a bit, placement and rotating was good...Umm the 75mm would be better perhaps as like you say very lo res??????
