Gorgeous map, Wim! Keep them coming please. You're THE map master!
With all respect to all other map masters of course.

The Stummel. An under-rated vehicle in my opinion. If only they carried a few more HEAT rounds, but I can see why they didn't - they're not meant to be tank destoyers, but I have one in Mit Karacho which is doing an admirable job.
Yes, they are very useful. And it hurts a lot when they get hit.

I'm doing a right hook, w everything. Only the engineers left in reserve. I plan on crossing the far right bridge & use the terrain & woods to shield my flanks...... I bet you are laughing right now, knowing I am making some big mistake I placed TRP to help facilitate this advance. We'll see. Holiday for me today, maybe I'll get some progress.
Give 'em hell, Dan!

Great movie, George. I see I missed some scenarios, which I'm going to play now. Good idea to make this.

Man, I love this mod. Combined with the mk3 helmet and the moustache mod it makes British infantry look real cool!

At the moment I'm reading all I can find on the experience of British soldiers in Malaysia and especially Birma during ww2 fir instace in the battle of Kohima and Imphal, plus the experience of the Australian soldiers on New Guinea and such (especially Kokoda). It surprised me to discover there are many interesting books written by those who were there. I was even able to obtain such little gems like The Siege by Arthur Campbell and The Little Men by K.W. Cooper. What a great subject for a new CM title! CM Birma, or CM Kokoda Track!
All this makes me wonder whether there are also good first account books on the experience of British soldiers in North Africa, Italy and Normandy and Canadian soldiers in Normandy. Does anyone know any good titles?

Oh Oh Oh is magic ...Like I said, it's a bit of an "illusion mod" because the telephone poles are Flavours Objects (FOs), they appear to be "connected to each other,... in fact only half of the wire is connected, (to give the possibility to the player to turn the FO, approximately to the place that he wants on the ground).
You can understand in this way that the connection of the two wires is very difficult, and more when you try to "connect" a third one, but as the wires "float in the air" they disappear with the view and the distance, and seem to be connected, this is why another telephones poles is on the way (that I have to created), to have only one wire side to give more "facility" to be connected, to eachothers, of course if you look more closely at all the details, you notice that the wire is cut, but this way it gives a nice effect, but that's only my opinion.
So yes this is a magic trick !
Mais il fallait y penser !
JM, you clever man!

Today Bootie posted my CMBN additional skins for Normandy at FGM's Modification Warehouse. These complement and do not overwrite TAL's, PAT's and Umlaut's building reskins. Mine are extras and include both independent and modular building skins. I have also included Falaise's beautiful Normandy stone 'large' church reskin. Now you can play with a expanded range of authentic Normandy looking buildings. I strongly encourage anyone who is playing my scenarios or campaign to install these along side of TAL's, PAT's, Umlaut's and Falaise's buildings as my creations incorporate all available building mods.
My Holland building skins posted earlier are both replacement reskins and additional skins.
They are SUPERB, Wim. Thank you!

After declaring my retirement from making any more maps and scenarios for CMBN, I decided to put my feet up and start playing through a few scenarios and campaigns. I chose three that were thematically related and started to play. All three were supposedly historical or based on historical events. I found that I disliked all three due to the significant degree to which they deviated from fact both in mapping and OOBs. One was understandable because it was based on an ASL scenario which was a derivative of the historical event. I decided to tinker with the small ASL version to bring it more in line with known historical facts but one thing led to another and now ... surprise ... I have another map in the works. Another of my huge 3248 m x 2128 m 'historicals'. It would be more correct to say 'my interpretation' of the resources available to me constrained by the Scenario Editor's Lego-like construction set.
It is about 65% complete at this time. Another month of full-time work should finish it. I will give an occasional hint here at what is coming. If over the next little while you happend to guess what area I am mapping, I will send you a screenie of the work in progress.
Hint #1: It is an overly huge map for what was initially an otherwise tiny event.
And PEB14 - you can't add your guess 'cuz you already know the answer.
.
I knew it. It's like Vermeer announcing he's bored with painting milkmaids.
Great news, Wim.

Thank you Bootie.
Message to everybody: this mod is an ABSOLUTE must for anybody wishing to play in a realistic Normandy setting. Very, very nice buildings indeed, including modular ones. Congratulations to the authors!
And I know what I'm talking about, just look at my RL location !
Hear, hear.

Good point. An explosion which remains stationary for an hour may look a little odd. But why not try it? It’s not like we would be watching it all the time.
It's certainly an eyecatcher.

Superb, JM. Perhaps Market Garden could also use a horizon full of pparachutes. Personally I think rhe horizon should not contain fast moving objects like planes or fast moving things like explosians, but that's a matter of taste.

Perhaps signs of dogfights between fighters in the sky?

Interesting burning city skylines, that doesn't exist at the moment, @umlaut was already doing a rubble or destroyed city for Stalingrad and Novgorod mod, but no flames horizons, also @NPye are very nice effects in his mod, maybe check it there -down ?
I guess the "fog" may have something to do with when the storyline is built and will start time, like early morning or a few hours later when the sun comes up, I don't know, it's just a question ?
Already that these horizons can also be used with modtags it's a good thing, maybe we can use a system to change the horizon from time to time and use some shader effects or the flames images system ??Burning city skylines, or burning towns or even woods, convoys or fields. Yes, that would be nice to have. I remember i use to light whole grain fields in CMBB in the background, just for the atmosphere.

Hi Jacob, I finally tried the winter horizons in a game (CMRT Rites of Spring), and another one playing in Jan 45, but did not manage to see the winter horizons. Do they work with mod-tagged scenarios only?
In support, I downloaded from FGM and installed the @kohlenklau winter mod. But that did not help much. Plus the version I found includes only some vehicle mods.
Any ideas?
Not sure, it has got something to do with the weather and ground conditions. Perhaps you can experiment a bit. Cold, clear and snow for example.

Excellent, Phil. Thank you.

I've just installed this mod. And I like it. I like it a lot.

What exactly did happen in St.Peterburg? Do we know? And was Prig perhaps forced into action by the attack on his forces in the South and forced to improvise before he could take out Putin while all the time he was just a pawn in a clever plot to weaken Putin's position?
