Indeed. Thanks for that.

Question. Did anyone ever made a winter mod for the 88mm FLAK? The one in FB is okay and can be used in CMRT, but doesn't look very impressive.

Much appreciated, thank you!

CMRT would be the better choice. FB is already covered.

Okay, I am seriously beginning to wonder how many YPRs we Dutch had left to give. I had it in my mind that we sent over some 40 of them. But they keep showing up just about everywhere. Either we had more of the things that I thought or they are multiplying like Tribbles.
Good to see the Ukrainians get good use out of the old beasties. I sometimes wince when I see what risks they are taking with them, but they seem to be doing alright, all things considered. The Ukrainians should get on the phone with the Turks and Egyptians and see if they can get some more. The ones with cannons, if they can manage it.
You forget that we are a trading nation.

You will be back, Wim. And perhaps then you can try to make scenarios/campaigns for the Eastern front, instead of 'eternal'normandy. So many interesting subjects there still, like Courland, Eastern Prussia and other more balanced battlefields. CMRT is too heavy concentrated on Berlin, I think, which was not much more than a massacre, which doesn't fascinate me in the least.
Talented people like you simply can't be missed at this forum. Pull yourself together, man!

And now some hard evidence that China is supplying some quantities of firearms, body armor, and drone parts directly to Russia:

Tip of the iceberg no doubt.

This isnt reckless, its a perfectly executed soft kill of a 32million USD unit with almost zero cost. On the other hand the US shot down chinese balloons wasting multiple 400.000 USD missiles.
Team BRICS win this air circus round
Not reckless? Reward them by sending F-16s to the Ukraine.

Latest fileset link should be near end of the thread. I couldn´t continue for RL matters and lack of community interest wasn´t encouraging as well. Thanks and cheers!
That's us, Harry, always moaning and never satisfied. You deserve better, my friend.

There is also a mod on the forum you'll have to search for (maaaaaaybe by Rockin' Harry, I don't remember for certain) that lowers the HT gunner in RT and it helps immensely.
They certainly aren't invulnerable, but they survive much better.
I vaguely remember the discussion, but can't remember if I installed this mod. Don't seem to have it in my mod folders. Can anyone post a link please? @RockinHarry?

They still don't get it. You need stockpiles that can sustain a full scale war for AT LEAST eighteen months. While we are at it we might consider making munnitions plants that are not 70 years out of date.
Precisely. Si vis pacem, para bellum (if you want peace, prepare for war).
If NATO had done this, the war in Ukraine would have been over by now.

Video showing a drone harassing and eventually knocking out a T-72:
Interesting to note that it took a FIVE hits to the engine deck to finally cause a mobility kill. I'd guess the last hit severed a coolant hose which, spewing coolant onto the hot engine block, caused the engine to overhead and the crew to abandon. Another couple of failed drops until they got a hand grenade right into the driver's compartment.
Persistence pays off
Steve
War can be funny.

Excellent, I think Germany and Poland have more in common than they think and could form a firm foundation for a stronger NATO.

The reasons people are talking about new alliance is the unwillingness of certain NATO members.
Nobody doubts the willingness of Uncle Sam to blow up **** with the current government, but long term US is one election away from withdrawing from NATO (Trump already almost tried). Then you have Turkey, which is unpredictable and Hungary which is outright traitorous. But most importantly, France and Germany are treating their eastern neighbours as colonies and are never going to be willing to protect them.
That is also why idea of "EU army" some people are talking is ridiculous, when Germans would be fine with having Russian border near Dresden and shrug at millions of murdered and enslaved people, as long as the gas keeps flowing and the French care more about "not humiliating Putin" than Russian war crimes.
(Honestly, I think Russia is behind the "we can't trust US and NATO let's build EU Army!" because of how stupid that idea is.)
Various alliances included Czechoslovakia and Poland before WW2 too, with one outright betrayed and the other betrayed in practice.
That is why people are talking about new possible alliance of Baltics, Finland, Poland and Ukraine because they realize Germany and France would sacrifice them in a blink of an eye.
EDIT: is it a good idea? Of course not! But it might be the only option in town in a few years.
This is probably one of the most ignorant and nonsensical posts in this whole thread

I'm pretty sure the annexation of Belarussia is part of Putin's 'Master plan' to restore the Soviet borders. It's inevitable and there's little we can do about it. One can even ask whether it hasn't happened already. All the more reasons to send Ukraine all the help we can miss. And more.

I guess it would, and I hope that would get enough votes despite the high hurdle. But I was referring to any *new* treaties, not NATO.. Because someone suggested that a new military alliance could be formed to guarantee Ukraine against yet another Russian invasion. I think that’s unlikely. .
It would be incredibly stupid as well.

Well, it tells us that the rest of the world doesn't buy our pretty Sunday speeches, and rightly so. Our precious western values apply mostly to ourselves and definitely only extend to other regions of the world as far as they don't interfere with our interests. Which usually means we don't give a f*** about autocrats as long they are "our" autocrats and we don't care about human rights when cheap resources and workforce are better accessible without them.
That's why it means nothing to quite a few countries that we are democracies and China and Russia are not. For them it matters how they are treated and as a matter of fact, so far we have a worse track record.
What we should learn from that is that we shouldn't take it for granted that we are seen as the good guys and everyone gathers under our banner. If this is to become a clash of systems then we better make sure to win the hearts and minds of the rest of the world through deeds not words.
Ah yes, that good old Western self-hate. What would we do without it?

Slava Ukraini! We will NEVER abandon you guys.

In October 2022, about eight months after the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the University of Cambridge in the UK harmonized surveys that asked the inhabitants of 137 countries about their views of the West, Russia, and China. The findings in the combined study are robust enough to demand our serious attention.
- Of the 6.3 billion people who live outside of the West, 66% feel positively towards Russia, and 70% feel positively towards China.
- 75% of respondents in South Asia, 68% of respondents in Francophone Africa, and 62% of respondents in Southeast Asia report feeling positively toward Russia.
- Public opinion of Russia remains positive in Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, India, Pakistan, and Vietnam.
…
Nelson Mandela often said that it was the Soviet Union’s support, both moral and material, that helped inspire South Africans to overthrow the Apartheid regime. Because of this, Russia is still viewed in a favorable light by many African countries. And once independence came for these countries, it was the Soviet Union that supported them, despite its own limited resources. Egypt’s Aswan Dam, completed in 1971, was designed by the Moscow-based Hydro Project Institute and financed in large part by the Soviet Union. The Bhilai Steel Plant, one of the first large infrastructure projects in newly independent India, was set up by the USSR in 1959.
Other countries also benefited from the political and economic support provided by the former Soviet Union, including Ghana, Mali, Sudan, Angola, Benin, Ethiopia, Uganda, and Mozambique. On February 18, 2023, at the African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the foreign minister of Uganda, Jeje Odongo, had this to say: “We were colonized and forgave those who colonized us. Now the colonizers are asking us to be enemies of Russia, who never colonized us. Is that fair? Not for us. Their enemies are their enemies. Our friends are our friends.”
It is rather sobering, isn't it?
Doesn't change anything though. Just shows we should be grateful for our friends and careful where we send our money to.
