is this dead? i was really looking fwd to it. Maybe a bump will freshen the memories... -
gotta agree with Sergei; whilst they are a bit of a gamble by themselves, embedded with more hardy lads they are devastating. i usually form a small group around the CO of the Company, along with a high quality squad and some lmg's. it can be quite a capable reaction force...

lovely job; very nice

To fill out Slappy's answer a smidge: BFC has said that trikes and pony's are simulated in the sense that those "vehicles" got the troops equipment to the battle, but that they have pulled back.

Outlook XP and 2003 are designed to be fully integrated with Exchange. The Exchange servers sets your permissions for your mail, so MS has left a lot of the functionality of Outlook dormant on purpose for the standalone user. In this instance the Exchange Admin would set the type and size of attachments you'd be allowed to send/receive. You can hack this (hack might be too romantic of a term); the link below gives a very nice step by step. But do remember as someone else said that this reduces your security substantially, as this requires you (or whoever you share your PC with) to always be alert about the mail they receive. Hope this helps: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/esecup/getexe.htm -
Could Russia have won with Canadians?
Bartokomus replied to Sergei's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
as one of six people to ever serve in the Canadian Navy I resent that offshore bombardment wasn't suggested as a viable use of Canadiana power. Surely the 1960's era 40mm Bofors we were refitted with on the way to the first Gulf War to hit Exocet missles (at Mach 2) with would have been equally effective at bombarding Berlin or maybe even as far in as Vienna... -
Kingfish why not zip them up and post them at CMMODs for all to d/l? a thought...

didn't think to take a screen shot, but my result was the same as above; it was very enjoyable but to me it seems still there is no way to overcome the AI's use of its armor. Hard to make a scen that overcomes the propensity of a TC to offer the back of his AFV to my AFV's gun @ 200m. Not in any way to disparage the designer, this just didn't seem particularily challenging. But i must say the Inf. can still pack a good game... thanks for the scen -
Eichenbaum's Operation Storfang released!
Bartokomus replied to eichenbaum's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Mr. Eichenbaum IS there some problem with using Opera as your browser? I can open up the app, but when it gets to the point where i am supposed to be able to look at your "map" it's just black. I can view the intro movie fine, but i have to hit CTRL-W to get out of the blank screen. Certainly not trying to devolve this into a tech support session, but i really want the whole thing to work, as i am assuming that i will lose out on "campaign" feel of it. thank you **EDIT*** i should say i have installed all files and supporting programs successfully. And to further clarify i was wondering if the Cortona app was what wasn't performing well with my Opera browser. thanks [ June 18, 2004, 10:40 AM: Message edited by: Bartokomus ] -

Could Russia have won in 1941?
Bartokomus replied to Sergei's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
But isn't that always the problem with those Nazi guys and when one postulates "what ifs"? The leadership was a group of wicked men implementing a horrendous ideology which called forth and amplified many of our baser characteristics. Everything they did was mtoivated out of the same place as that which created the Holocaust; concentration camps and the murder of the indigenous poplulations in the countries they occupied came from the same place as their admirable battle qualities and their emphasis of martial qualities in their boys... If the Weimar republic still existed we wouldn't have seen Barbarossa. I guess the point of my speechifying is this: we can't distill the immense skill and courage in battle of the German forces from the very motivations for the war; except on the individual level. My thoughts, fwiw -
i think you guys should post a Pay Pal link on your site. Soon as you do let us know... Murray

I don't believe it's the graphics that are causing you to freeze; i think it might be the game is choking on all the calculations it has to make because of how many units start in LOS of one another. Or else it's just plain calculating the AI move. but i don't think decreasing the Graphics quality will help. but perhaps a dev will be along or you could go to the techincal forum; it's probably a better place to get the best answer.
