  1. Question 2 RE: DATE: In an AI plan script, the script only checks for activation on or after the DATE. In the case of Type = 0, the script would only check for activation on this date. For Type = 1, the script checks every turn on and after this date until activated. The script can only be activated (triggered) once.
  2. I played 2 games with the patch, in one the allies never invaded France in the second the invasion occurred in late 1944, after Russia had lost Moscow and Stalingrad. Why? Part of the fault appears to lie with the production and transport scripts. In both cases the USA had lots of Air Units in the UK but few land units. The USA needs 8+ land units in one script. If those units are not in the UK then no invasion. Once it reaches those limits then no problem. That said, the Patch gives you a much improved game, especially on the Eastern front. And D-Day does occur, though some more fine tuning is needed.
  3. To test a date dependent script. Create a new campaign with a start date of XXX. Then change the AI. And test. Why? Modifications to AI scripts do not affect saved games.
  4. Vs. the AI I would usually take the Canadian mine in Nothern Canada in Sc1 and it would attract most of the USA troops to the far north. I will have to see if this tactic works with the new patch.
  5. HC, many thanks for the update. The greatest game changing event I see in the first patch is the reduction in the German Max Research to 750MPP. Already in a game vs AI I am seeing the effect. Wow! It will be interesting to see how this changes Axis research strategies in Multiplayer. And the transfer of USA Pacific Naval units, if Spain is Axis, is a nice touch. Will certainly affect my planning. Many thanks [ June 03, 2006, 12:17 PM: Message edited by: Edwin P. ]
  6. Patch Question: Will AI reclaim Tech Chits in techs where AIU has achieved the maximum tech level? Example: For Anti-Armor, if AI has 2 chits remaining when its Anti-Armor has reached level 3 (the maximum for this level) will it reclaim them for MPPs?
  7. Also, waypoints have been added into sea transport scripts which can now use the Naval loops.
  8. Ideas for consideration: 1. Photos (jpg) for Event Popups I would like to see an option for the initial pop-up event( not the summary at turn's end) to include a jpg photo image. Imagine the pearl harbor event including a photo of the naval base under attack. 2. Audio for Event Popups I would like to see an option for the initial popup event (not the summary at turn end) to be accompanied by sound files of a selected format. 3. HQ units - a screen where you can see the portaits/photos (jpg files) of a nation's activated (i.e. purchased) generals and below that their medals, date of activation and date of death (if any). Select USA flag and you see all of the Active USA Generals' portraits, Select the Germany Flag and you see all of the active German general's portraits (at least those you have spotted this turn or prior). Those that have been killed in action have a red X over their portrait. 9. 1. HQ Report I would like to see a HQs Report added to the reports screen. This report would list friendly and enemy HQ units that have been spotted by the players at any time during play (on the current or previous turns) - Name, Medals and Date of Destruction (if applicable) Example Rommel Medals 2.1 Patton Medals 1.0 Killed: 12/15/1945 2. Production Report At Intel Advantage +1 you see the actual production MPPs totals for a nation Example UK Intel 1, USSR 0, USA 0, Germany Intel 1, Italy Intel 0 Allies See Germany Production ? Italian Production 80 Axis See UK ? Russia 300 USA 250 3. Compatative Research Report At Intel Advantage +2 you see the number of chits each nation has invested in research (not which research areas they are invested in). Example UK Intel 2, USSR 0, USA 0, Germany Intel 2, Italy Intel 0 Example: Axis see: USA 4 chits, Russia 5 chits, UK ? Allies see: Italy 3 chits, Germany ? 10. Each Level of Cryptography advantage allows a major power to spot 1 HQ unit of each opposing nation and the convoy routes of opposing nations. Max Levels 3. Which HQ units are spotted is determined according to the number of medals they have. Example: Cost: 75 MPP / chit, Max 3 Levels Germany Crytography 2 Italy Cryptograhy 0 USA Cryptogrpahy Level 3 Russia Cryptography Level 1 UK Cryptography Level 0 Germany can see 2 UK HQ units, 0 USA HQ Units and 1 Russian HQ Unit. USA can see location of 1 German HQ unit and 3 Italian HQ units (if they had 3 HQ units). Being able to spot HQ units gives the player a general idea of where the enemy is planning to stage offensive operations. As players reach new levels of cryptography previously spotted HQ units may disappear from view or come into view. Extra: A nation with cryptography advantage can see the convoy routes of opposing nations on the map. Example: USA Cryptography 3 UK Cryptography 0 Germany Cryptography 2 Germany cannot see USA to UK convoy route on map. Germany can see Canada to UK and Egypt to UK Convoy Routes and UK to Russia Convoy Routes. USA can see Norway to Germany and Sweden to Germany Convoy Routes.
  11. Good idea benCG, I had not thought of using it to evacuate troops from a hopeless situation.
  12. New Research Area! What could it be? A-bomb - Certainly not. Ultra - Most probably not. Allows you to see location of enemy units (or just HQ units?), 5% (to see each unit) per Ultra advantage. Naval Bombers - Not likely. Increases Naval attack strength of air units. Shore Batteries - Not likely. Increases Naval defense of coastal cities, like Anti-Air. Amphibious Transports - Most likely. Affects AP of Amphibious Transports. Each level increases movement range by +1. [ June 02, 2006, 10:29 AM: Message edited by: Edwin P. ]
  13. Question: Values: [0, 3]; False= 0; Steal_Offensive= 1; Steal_Defensive= 2; Steal_Offensive_Or_Defensive= 3) What is a Steal_Defensive Plan? Is there a new plan type?
  14. Some while ago I tried to have Turkey annex Vichy Syria and the system did not allow it. I also tried to have Turkey annex part of Northern Iraq and was unable to get it to work. It appeared that only majors, not minor could annex territory. I will run another test tonight and let you know.
  15. Historically, the British invaded Iraq via Basra. If this additional naval loop were added I would change the script so that if the Allies attacked Iraq prior to their military coup their would be a larger diplomactic effect on Turkey.
  16. Comments on FOW 1.In real life if you spotted the Bismarck before the war you know that it exists, even if you can't spot it now, until you know that you have sunk it. From what I am reading in this post Intel reports only show currently spotted units. I would like the Intel reports to show the status of units that have been spotted to date, and those that you started the game with. 2. If you want to make it interesting let each side select a single Intel Focus - Air, Naval or Land. For the focused military arm you see the total number of units of that type, if you have an Intel advantage. For other military arms, or if you have an Intel Disadvantage, you see only what you have spotted. [ June 01, 2006, 10:14 AM: Message edited by: Edwin P. ]
  17. I would like to see: Default - you see only you units you have spotted in this turn or previously, if they have not been destroyed.
  18. I assume that you are playing with the full version of the software, not the demo.
  19. C:\Program Files\Battlefront\Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg\Multiplayer
  20. What I would like to see is an option to continue the war if the Allies have won; If Allies Won - then game continues with Western Allies Vs Russians (HEY , an IDEA for a NEW MOD!)
  21. Correct, less predictable scripts are the answer!
  22. Working long hours on an ERP implementation, but it will be done soon.
  23. ; USA Transfers Pacific Fleet to Atlantic if Gibraltar Controlled by Axis - 25% ; { #NAME= Peace With Japan #POPUP= Empire of Japan to Withdraw from China, USA Lifts Trade Embargo #FLAG= 1 #TYPE= 0 #COUNTRY_ID= 3 ; 1 in 4 games #TRIGGER= 25 #DATE= 1941/12/07 #DESTINATION_RESOURCE= 3,25 #DESTINATION_RESOURCE= 6,23 ; Is Gibraltar Controlled by Axis? #CONDITION_POSITION= 55,29 [0,1] [0,9] [1] #UNIT= 9 [10] [0] [Arizona] #UNIT= 9 [10] [0] [California] #UNIT= 11 [10] [0] [Enterprise] #UNIT= 11 [10] [0] [saratoga] }
