  1. I say 69's aren't bad at all, but I don't think this game deserves that low of a rating.

  3. One issue for COG is that he will need a server that supports Lotus Domino, which is the server side scripting language that he used to write his site in. I didn't see it listed in offered plans. Speaking of COG, can anybody hit his site, it's not coming up for me. I can ping it fine though.
  4. It's sad, but I see CMBO and CMBB posted all the time in the newsgroups. Various groups, masked names - false email addresses for sure, but I can forward headers if BFC wants.
  5. This group from Brazil is reaping some pretty serious havoc on a number of sites. Do a google search on brazil hackers. We just had a security alert about them yesterday up at work.
  6. Oh boy, 11000 post of either yup!, or nope! I'm still stuck on 9600 baud dial-up. I started downloading the 1.0.1 patch 3 weeks ago, 16% done now!
  7. Can you fix the links? Eh, just saw the proper link in your sig.... [ December 08, 2002, 09:08 PM: Message edited by: GJK ]
  8. Grab UOSU screenshot utility. Let's you take all the shots you want without having to leave the game and saving them. Here's a link, the page is Japanese (or Chinese?) but the download link is visible at the bottom of the page and the program is in English. Nothing to install, just put it in a folder, tell it the folder to save the screenshots to, assign a key and you're set. http://www.af.wakwak.com/~space/uosoft/uosu.html
  9. Looks great Tank. I don't know about others, but I've taken the doodads out (semi-criss-crossed patches of wheat that are standing) and to me that looks even better. Great job!
  10. Great job SD. The grass/mod mud actually looks really good in CM:BB as well, for those that purchased the combo pack or also own CM:BO (or even if you just own CM:BB but lurk in here as well). I'm going to try your snow/mud mod next. Thanks for the great job.
  11. Well, you can't press the "back" button to return to a previous page for one. Search engines have a hard time indexing them for another. Bookmarking the page in the wrong place can also cause you to enter the site "frameless", thus you have no navigation at all unless it's on the page itself. Other than that, frames are kewl. Edit: Should clarify, you can't navigate with the "back" button if the frames are not done properly. [ December 03, 2002, 06:47 PM: Message edited by: GJK ]
  12. Tigers normally didn't travel to the front by themselves, but were transported by train. That was one of the great advantages of Sherman's and T-34's over Tigers and Panthers. The Allied tanks could simply drive to the front without breaking down.</font>
  13. Eden: Did you just use a "blockquote" to keep the formatting? As for the tests: I don't like the thought of something happening (be it ill-wanted or well-wanted) 100% of the time. The bog rate of a Tiger may have been high (I don't know) but I can't believe it's going to bog (and immobilize!) 100% of the time in scattered woods. Hopefully BFC can confirm and debug if necessary.
  14. So per the tests, a Tiger is going to bog in scattered trees every time. Is that realistic?
  15. If you don't want to have to trim out excess window image information, you can press alt+printscreen and it will just capture the screen "in focus" (highlighted title bar). This doesn't apply to the game of course, because the entire screen is in focus for it, but, if you're doing a screenshot of something outside of the game, such as a menu, a browser window, etc, then this will cut out the rest of the desktop from the shot. Just thought I'd throw that in for whatever reason. Oh, and I recommend Irfanview over "Paint" as well: http://www.irfanview.com/ - No affiliation with the author of this nifty program - Nice little graphics utility that's free. GJK
  16. Rob, Grab Irfanview, it's freeware and is an excellent graphics viewer/conversion program. It's lite too...won't bloat your system and easy to use. http://www.irfanview.com/english.htm GJK
  17. Not meaning to hijack the thread, but how's the rest of the ASL Interface conversion coming Michael? The unit portraits are excellent, can't wait for the rest of the "package"!
  18. I've posted the final version of my light grass mod (and a few other things) at the CM Mod Database: http://www.cmmods.com/ Thanks! GJK
  19. I say load up "Cementary Hill" and play as the Germans. Charge full ahead. You'll learn the game real quick.
  20. So, should be easy for BFC to implement this into CMBB, right? It all sounds logical to me.
  21. It's been a few years, but in SL, for broken/routed units, wasn't it something like: 1. Must seek cover in woods or bldg by; 2. Moving no nearer known enemy positions; 3. Nor by moving in the open in the LOS of a known enemy unit; 4. Else they stay put (or was it they were effectively destroyed?) Something like that. Would be nice if BFC could incorporate that programming into the game, or at least in the engine rewrite for the next gen.
  22. How's the 1.01 update of your scenario coming along? I'd be anxious to play it once it's been tweaked out.
  23. Unless I'm mistaken, you should be able to use Mike Houghton's (KiloIndiaAlpha)CM Mod Manager to load/unload this with ease. Maybe Mike can let us know if that is correct.
  24. Did you read the player reviews? Only 5 of them now, but post #3 needs a good flamming from us http://www.forumplanet.com/gamespy/topic.asp?fid=4135&tid=889191
