  1. Might have been better posted originally in the General Forum rather than in the game forum, despite the incident having happened in the Ukraine.
  2. Send Steve a message > http://community.battlefront.com/user/36389-battlefrontcom/
  3. Bil Hardenberger has wriiten scouting tutorials (check in his signature) - also read/ watch and learn from his past & present battle reports.
  4. As in real life - Maybe best retreat to cover > find any better cover in any direction before you roll into a ball & get easily spotted and killed if you try and hide on a perfectly flat parking lot.
  5. Wouldn't it be preferable in a game of hide & seek to hide in cover rather than in the open... Admittedly if you have to attack a machine gun over open ground with other infantry then while your hiding/ laying low then you'll be less of target while others take the brunt / can repond with fire. When as they go to ground you can dash forward - rinse and repeat till you ID the source of your misery and you get close enough to gain fire supremacy and eventually overwhelm the MG (and yes there'll will be casualties). There are a series of very well crafted CMBB training scenarios that allowed the game player to practice various game playing methods to achieve different objectives.
  6. With difficulty, and something that will be massively different and a challenge compared to WW2 titles. It will be when your scouts get shot at with 'splodey fings then you'll have the indication that they've stumbled upon the enemy. If you lucky your scout's sensors/ night vision will be superior to theirs and they'll live to tell the tale.
  7. Yup - the Tiggy Two is a tall beastie The M1A2 not so tall - more squat
  8. Okay I can see the problem - the in the case of the T-34-85 is 2.45m tall - and the 1m takes it to the top of the tracks - then at 2m that is just above the gun height. What happens if you make a 2m dug in position two action squares long but make the front square 1m dip so the residing tank is sloping up hopefully allowing the gun to peak over the top. Things will differ depending on the vehicle and might need some adjustment i.e. M1A1 height 2.44m, T-90 2.22m etc.)
  9. Shouldn't be hard to do by the scenario designer (landscaper) in the editor if they see the need for em.
  10. Just catching up on the youtube repeat - Caught a glimpse in the Ukranian campaign mission of the tractor flavour object but no sign of abandoned cars like were in CMSF. Are other flovour object vehicles featuring?
  11. Also CMBN is available on Apple's app store but its stalled on upgradability since its release in 2012 and without module > https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/combat-mission-battle-for/id492808932?mt=12 So with that download service, their own store and if they go with Steam would mean 3 different versions of each game, module, updates & patches not including different release versions that would need to be made and tested for different Mac & PC platforms. No wonder they try and keep it simple as possible and keep it inhouse....
  12. From watching the the effects of vehicles being targeted by AT range finding laser (popping smoke - defensively reversing) in ChrisND's senario playthrough - Would mayhem happen in Real Life™ on a battlefield if every infantryman was equipped with a simple pocket laser pen able to shine at and inundate any armour threat?
  13. Yup - In the UK garrison town I live in during the 80s squaddies would be running round in squads fully kitted up in Noddy (NBC) suits. Never envied them esp on summer days when they were only capable of jogging around for half-an-hour before collapsing from heat exhaustion. Goodness knows what the infantry's endurance was like in the Gulf Wars when they were similarly kitted out in the desert heat while under threat from chemical and biological attack.
  14. Have you tried initially opening a support ticket at battlefront.com helpdesk ( http://battlefront.mojohelpdesk.com blue button top right corner)
  15. Like your suggestions to making an NBC effected battlefield and I'll add turn the scenario's temperature right up and forbid vehicles unbuttoning... Watch the U.S. Army’s Mock Battle Inside a Nuclear Reactor
  16. Will the partial lunar eclipse on Aug 7 2017 3:52 PM UTC in Ukraine occur in game?
  17. Bil deployed his UAV reccie & aircraft late but if it is timed right, and turns up as expected, and the info gained is passed alomg as pnzrldr's reinforncements turn up Bil could have the upper hand esp as he played so aggressively from the off.
  18. Tactics will have a keener eye on the weather like Cricket.... http://www.nationaldefensemagazine.org/archive/2011/February/Pages/ArmyPilotsFlyingDronesTougherThanItLooks.aspx Not clear if detrimental weather conditions in CMBS will effect drone/UAV operations.
  19. Probably not helped by Steve Job's memorial in St Peterburg getting dismantled after current CEO Tim Cook came out as gay. “In Russia, gay propaganda and other sexual perversions among minors are prohibited by law,” a statement issued by ZEFS reads. The memorial, it continued, was “in an area of direct access for young students and scholars”.
  20. Nice and new fangled - Will the blue forum template remain or will there be other options?
  21. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-30449662 Where will Ukraine buy new military hardware? and can they afford it...
  22. Also From Wikipedia "Alternate ending In The Untold Story a separate chapter is devoted to an alternative, much darker, scenario written in the form of radio transcripts and newspaper editorials... This chapter is not included in the Macmillan edition." "1982, UK, Sidgewick & Jackson (ISBN 0-283-98863-0), Pub date ? ? 1982, hardback (First edition) 1982, US, Macmillan (ISBN 0-02-547110-4), Pub date ? ? 1982, hardback 1983, US, Bantam Books (ISBN 0-553-23637-7), Pub date ? ? 1983, paperback 1983, US, New English Library, (ISBN 0-450-05591-4), Pub date 1 July 1983, hardback" So the UK edition the doom and gloom version was there but in the US edition it wasn't included, however in the 1983 editions it was included again. So the Queen from this wan't quite omnipotent as Kettler makes out. As per usual Kettler comes out with bollocks which isn't surprising considering his dubious past record of fantastic claims regarding german WW2 nukes on Soviet front , tanks on Mars, V2s launched from Cherbourg bunkers, UFOs with underslung panther turrets, singlehandedly killing telepathic reptoid monsters and his being a foremost military analyst. Funnily enough all these claims follow a bang to the head...
