A lot of old timers coming back
Lindan replied to Nidan1's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
You called? I must admit it's been a while since I joined this forum as user no. threehundredsomething. Little info block on the top right informs me that my last login was 11-26-2008. Time is running quick - only the PENG thread runs eternal (or so it seems ;-) ) -
Various questions from Russian community

Mein Luftkissenboot ist voller Aale. -
For me a lot of the fun with the CM series came from this forum. A lot of ideas, creative input, fun. A huge "family" discussing (sometimes heated) their favourite game. The ghost town this forum has become reflects my feelings about the game quite well.

A bit of patience please. Steve undoubtedly has a lot of other things to do besides answering forum questions.

March to slaughter, my mindless automatons!

Because every German WW2 squad in every Hollywood flick from the 60ies-70ties I've ever seen behaves like that. It's realistic you see? -
Just noticed you posted in the Tech Support forum already. [ September 03, 2007, 01:36 AM: Message edited by: Lindan ]

anyone gone back to CMBO CMBB CMAK after CMSF?
Lindan replied to scottie's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Yes, but we want to think it over some more before we toss it out to you guys. What I can say is that it shouldn't be more than a year before it is in your hands. 1 year between major releases (aka "Titles") is the general plan we are shooting for. Steve [08-30-07] </font> -
Why won't Tanks smash through small walls....!!!!

My review of CMSF, after playing for about 5 minutes
Lindan replied to Foobar's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
*sigh* even Foobar is still around. This place is worse than a family reunion.... -
Read the Readme.Txt.

Sure is ... until you run into 'design patterns'. Then the head-aches start ... Best regards, Thomm </font>

Nvidia drivers released for Bioshock help CMSF
Lindan replied to a topic in Combat Mission: Shock Force Tech Support
Bioshock also includes a "amd dual core timing fix.exe". I don't have a dual core machine, but I guess this could be relevant. -

Hate to say I told u so but.....
Lindan replied to (fgm) falco's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
I think he's happy now. He got a little bit of attention, so that's ok. Perhaps he'll need some more days until he notices that he made a total fool of himself. Or he was serious with his FPS comparison, in which case he'll never notice as his brain power isn't sufficient. Quick, let's use the pointy sticks to make him post some more... -
>maybe they should have not made it opengl then if it has so many issues lol <---that's a fact btw and not opinion Oh really, is it? You code against a standard API because you expect hardware manufacturers to make their cards compatible with the standard. That's the whole point, right? Who is to blame now? The multimillion dollar company which didn't care to produce an 100% OpenGL conformant driver or the company coding according to specifications? I'm really getting sick of this.

I don't know where you got this from, but this is total bull****.

>Bought space empire V a good while ago, its up to patch 30 or so, and STILL not playable by far [Frown] Why do you buy "deep" games if you don't "get" them?
-
I did.

Reminds me a bit about the discussions regarding the Sherman vs. the Pershing in WW2. The guys actually doing the fighting vs. Panthers and other late-war nasties were not quite as fond of the Sherman as the general staff in the USA... But now back to the topic at hand (to which I can add nothing, unfortunately).

How to solve the command and control UI
Lindan replied to Vinnart's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
And while we are at it, I edited the textfile for keyboard controls, but it had no effect. Weird.
