  1. This might not be a bad idea actually, it might at least make the Turkey option a bit more interesting. Anyone know of some SU cruiser/battleship names that were stationed in the black sea Hubert
  2. This is true as long as you have territory under your control and as long as you can trace a line of friendly hexes to your capital to the areas you wish to produce units. Hubert
  3. This is a similar problem reported with the demo, can you send me an email at support@furysoftware.com, I think I might know what it is, but I'll need to ask you a few questions first. Hubert
  4. Not within the game itself, but one way around this is to replace the file 'theme.wav' in your 'Sound' folder with an empty 'wav' file. Hubert
  5. I'd love to but I'm not quite done with this one just yet and I can't even think about the next one until things are finished up with SC... well at least without giving myself a big headache Hubert
  6. This has already been fixed on my end, expect another patch soon. Hubert
  7. Actually Norse is correct, this is a special implementation for the SU only. Hubert
  8. The game now uses DirectX to reset your display, so this may be the cause. Hubert
  9. The two lines of Allied minor are in place to take into account potential MOD work that would have the Allied minor unit icons face east or west. The first line is for unit icons to face east, and the second allied minor line is for unit icons to face west. So for example the first line of Allied minor would include countries like Canada, Spain, Portugal if they joined the Allies, and the second line would inlcude Turkey, Persia etc. if they joined the Allies Hubert
  10. This is correct with the patched v1.02 Hubert
  11. Hi Everyone! OK since it seems that many of you would like to play longer, with the next patch I will extend the play date slightly to perhaps 1948, but not any further officially. There are many reasons that to be honest I am not too interested in debating, but I will list a few here: - *WWII game only* - current research model would make limited sense if played out into the 1950's etc. - next question would be to be able to play as the US in an attack on the Soviet Union, all of which is not possible with the current game design etc. - maintain the overall tension knowing you cannot fight indefinitly The biggest problem is that a change to extend play length would also warrent further requests to change other elements in the game to make sense of being able to play indefintly and unfortunatly this game is not about civilization building etc. Also wanted to add that with the v1.02 patch total victory is no longer needed to actually win the game since v1.02 assesses the current situation and makes a victory judgement call (if possible, stalemates can still happen) to determine the winner if the game is played out until May 1946. Hope this helps, Hubert
  12. When you get to the main menu screen, the version number is shown at the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Hubert
  13. Not really sure why that would be happening, this is the first I've heard of this. Try a few things, completely remove the old demo files, install the new demo and if it still doesn't work, send me the 'exception trace.log' that is created once it crashes, this might help me narrow it down for you. Hubert
  14. There has been a problem with some email programs doing funny things with the pbem files, most notably Yahoo. If you zip the pbem file prior to sending this usually eliminates the problem. Hubert
  15. Yes could be the problem that your opponent is sending you files that are not from v1.02 and also when you uninstall, some files created after installation may not be removed by the uninstaller. Double check that the folders SAVE and PBEM are empty after the uninstall. A quick hint, when you apply the patch, you don't actually have to uninstall the original game and then reinstall, simply deleting those folders (SAVE and PBEM) or making sure they are empty should do the trick! Hubert
  16. OK I'll make a note of that and add in a reference to use the "ESC" key as well. Hubert
  17. Zipping files before you send also seems to eliminate this potential problems with email programs. Hubert
  18. Nope, there is no limit to the number of PBEM files, make sure all files have the extension '.sav' and that they are all from the release version of the game. Hubert
  19. Does this only happen during PBEM games or also with regular games, and can you be a bit more specific as to what happens exactly, i.e. the exact number of steps required to create the problem you are having. Edit: I think I may have misunderstood your initial post. On Windows9x/ME I believe the ALT-TAB may not work, DirectX locks it for some reason but not for windows2000/XP, try using the ESC key instead.
