Edge of the Map Bug?
Hubert Cater replied to Good Soldier Svejk's topic in Strategic Command Tech Support Forum
Interesting, I'll take a look at it. Are you sure that the unit being attacked just didn't have high entrenchment and perhaps your air attackers had low supply? Hubert -
Oops!

Oops, that's an error, it should read 4 as you've correctly guessed. Hubert

Just wanted to say thanks guys! Hubert

Just some comments and suggestions about the AI
Hubert Cater replied to Friar Bellows's topic in Strategic Command 1
What version are you playing? There was a small bug up until v1.03 that should have fixed this, if not let me know and I'll take another look. Hubert -
Correct

If they are not PBEM files then they will not appear in that directory, are you sure that the saved games were created from a PBEM game. You can test this by running a PBEM game on your own computer against yourself. Hubert

Failing in loading of saved games
Hubert Cater replied to danscan's topic in Strategic Command Tech Support Forum
If you have upgraded to the latest patch from v1.0 then you will have to delete the SAVE and PBEM folders since versions 1.02 and 1.04 are not backwards compatible. This will no longer be an issue with future versions. Hubert -
Screen Resolution and Cleartype Problems (Demo)
Hubert Cater replied to Harv's topic in Strategic Command Tech Support Forum
I don't really know what you mean by 'cleartype', perhaps if you can be a bit more specific I can help. If you can specify the version number for the demo that would help as well, the version number shows up at the bottom right hand corner of the main menu screen. Also if it is using DirectX, this can be found by checking the SC.ini file and reporting what is written there. Hubert -
Serious bug that needs immediate attention!
Hubert Cater replied to USGrant's topic in Strategic Command Tech Support Forum
OK it's funny that it doesn't work after 2099, but I don't think it's related to the game, can't honestly see how, but I guess sometimes you never know. Hubert -

New 1.03 Patch still locks up
Hubert Cater replied to gunnergoz's topic in Strategic Command Tech Support Forum
Sorry this is a little confusing... my references to the 'SC.exe' (dated on the 14th of August) are contained within the latest version of the 'SC_patch103.exe' (dated 17th of August). So to make sure, please double check that the patch you download is dated on the 17th, and that the executable for the game that is contained within the patch is dated the 14th. If you still run into trouble, let me know. Hubert -
New 1.03 Patch still locks up
Hubert Cater replied to gunnergoz's topic in Strategic Command Tech Support Forum
The patch was submitted on the 16/17th, but the eventual solution (for me) to the problem with v1.03 was for me to revert to the original version created on the 14th, so indeed the 14th is the correct date for the SC executable in patch v1.03. A little complicated yes, but that's how it goes some times. Good night! Hubert -
OK, all the unzipping will do is extract the files into the directoy specified, there is nothing that automatically happens after that as files should just be overwritten etc. What you will have to do is make sure that the files are explicitly told to unzip in the exact same directory as the original installtion of SC, but the original SC installtion needs to be there otherwise it will not work and most likely the cause of the corrupt file message. So just to be on the safe side, make sure SC (from the CD) has been installed, then unzip the patch into the exact same folder as the installation folder of SC, if this happens correctly you should receive a message warning you that you are about to overwrite existing files, click on 'Yes to All' and proceed. At this point try launching SC and if all went well, it should say the version number (1.03) at the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Hubert

New version 1.03 patch a problem to anyone else?
Hubert Cater replied to gunnergoz's topic in Strategic Command 1
I've posted a response for you in the Tech Support forum, please let me know if it helps over there. Thanks, Hubert [ August 19, 2002, 12:30 AM: Message edited by: Hubert Cater ] -
Sorry for the trouble, from your message it looks like the one you downloaded is still the original and *troublesome* patch of v1.03, please try the second version of 1.03 which was uploaded several hours after your download., to verify the timestamp of the SC executable should read 8/14/2002 9:23 PM, this one should resolve the problems you are having. If not please let me know. Hubert
-
With the zipped patch I sent you, simply unzip it to the installation directory for SC, it should overwrite any files you have in there as needed and work after that. Hope that helps, Hubert
-
With the second edition of patch v1.03 the campaign editor is actually the same one as from v1.02. An easy way to double check this is open the campaign editor and check the version number under About, it should read v1.01, if so it is the exact same one as before. You can also check the timestamp of the EXE to verify this. If not, then maybe you have the campaign editor from the first version of the 1.03 patch, if this is the case I would suggest a redownload and application. Hope this helps, Hubert

SC using 100% of CPU
Hubert Cater replied to terrorstraits's topic in Strategic Command Tech Support Forum
OK sounds like you have the first version of patch v1.03, this was as you've probably seen a strange patch of sorts as it caused some huge problems on some systems and nada on others... mine included. If it seems to run fine then I wouldn't worry but if you want to be on the safe side probably best to apply the second version of the patch, although it does use the high CPU cycles so it might be a bit of a toss up. New 1.03 Patch still locks up
Hubert Cater replied to gunnergoz's topic in Strategic Command Tech Support Forum
Hi Gunnergoz, Sorry to hear the trouble you are having, can you do me a favour and double check the timestamp on your version of patch v1.03, if it is not 8/14/2002 9:23 PM then please let me know. Thanks, Hubert -
Yup, I think I could use some sleep now... Hubert

SC using 100% of CPU
Hubert Cater replied to terrorstraits's topic in Strategic Command Tech Support Forum
Seems as though the adjustments on the latest patch caused the memory leaks, so the current SC patch v1.03 is back to it's original setup with respect to the CPU. I'll still be taking a look at it and let you know what I come up with. Hubert -
Hi Nicklas, Try the latest patch v1.03 to see if it resolves this issue for you. http://www.battlefront.com/products/stratcom/download.html If not, send me the faulty PBEM file and I'll take a look. Hubert
