  1. AoD comes with 4 licenses and so it can then be installed on up to 4 different machines but uninstalled and reinstalled on each of those machines as many times as you like provided you haven't formatted the hard drive or updated the OS to the point that the previous install information is no longer available. Hope this helps, Hubert
  2. My guess is it is still a false positive as many of the A/V software programs seem to err on the safe side rather than the 100% accurate side... but either way, glad to hear you are up and running Hubert
  3. Hi Mike, There are always many solutions but in this case the map and OOBs were simply built up from previous Global maps released under SC and without having to rebuild it from the ground up, which would have taken much longer, we simply went with what worked for now as this was all we decided we needed for this particular expansion. If and when we redo a Global theater under SC3, we will definitely have more time and options on the table. Hubert
  4. Hi Mike, Yes some very good points and something for us to consider for SC3 Hubert
  5. Actually no, a full uninstall and reinstall will not use up a license key as you can uninstall and re-install on the same machine as many times as you like so long as it is not on a recently formatted hard drive or update to your OS that wipes out previous machine info etc. In that case your machine will no longer be aware of the previous installs and then another key is used up as suggested. Hubert
  6. Very true and usually an uninstall followed by a reinstall will resolve this type of issue as the initial residual information should be cleared by a proper uninstall.
  7. This looks to be an introduced error... I apologize for this as I must have copied over a correction that no longer applied to the AoC/AoD Editor. I can confirm however that the only line that matters to the AoC Editor is the #ALIGNMENT_POSITION as the #FRIENDLY_POSITION is ignored in the building of the scripts. But until I fix this in the code the Editor will still complain if the #FRIENDLY_POSITION line is not included. I will remove this and correct it all around for the next patch. Hubert
  8. Hi MonsterClaude, The game should play very well in either mode, i.e. multiplayer or AI and I can definitely say the design was not created to favour AI games. We will of course make any adjustments needed after this much wider release than what we were able to cover in Beta testing but we always try our best to release games that are as balanced as possible for any game playing style . I can add that part of the design did favour maneuverability over stuffing the map with plenty of units, i.e. since we could because the map is bigger, and we were careful to ensure that the OOBs matched the incomes as well as that growth in income was relative to military growth. For example, what you'll find is that as the German Army expands and as more nations come on board such as the USSR and the USA German income should match the strains and requirements of battle. For the differences between initial OOBs between a country like German and let's say Japan we accepted the abstraction that the Pacific Theater is more of a Division/Corps level engagment as Japan begins the war with much more territory to cover than does Germany, while Germany could be argued to be more of a Corps/Army level arrangement. This is one way to resolve the two differing Theaters on a single map while other solutions involve splitting the map into two different scales as Al did for his Brute Force series, or by artificially increasing the size of Europe to compensate... which I've seen in a few other games in order to work around the issue. I hope this helps, Hubert
  9. Hi Bob, AoD works with the base Global game in order to run properly so I would suggest the following to get yourself up and running. Re-install Global to any directory you prefer, so long as it is installed properly via the installer and not located in a folder where you have cut and pasted the installation then AoD should work fine with it. After you do that install AoD to its own folder using the installer, it should not be installed into the same folder as the Global base game and then AoD should launch as expected. I hope this helps, Hubert
  10. Thanks Mike, this is now fixed on my end
  11. Hi MJY, This is very difficult for me to say as it really does sound like an operating system issue on your end. The only other thing I can think of is to try and install the game into another custom folder outside of the Program Files default that the game installs to. Perhaps you might have more luck if it were installed in let's say C:\Games\Battlefront\SC-WWI etc. as the Program Files folder is one of those special folders for the OS that is usually looking for elevated permissions. Hubert
  12. Hi Mike, For AoD Al did most of the original campaign design with the exception of 1939 World At War which was a collabrative initiative using a custom map designed by one of our Beta testers, Lars-Holger. The OOBs and combat target data for 1939 World At War was built upon the similar campaign from Global/GOLD which would explain the lack of naval evasion as we didn't have it in those earlier maps either. But as Al mentioned you can find naval evasion in the other campaigns that he worked on... hope this helps Hubert
  13. Thanks for the report and I'll track this down for the next patch.
  14. Sorry to hear about this bug, can you send me the autosave where this crash is repeatable? Send to support@furysoftware.com
  15. Hi Amadeus, I just took a quick look at the scripts and the unit positions and everything seems to be the way it should be with the units covering the cities in question at the start of the game and the popup appearing at the beginning of the very first Axis turn. I tested this in game and it worked as expected, was this perhaps just missed on your first turn? Hubert
  16. Very good points crispy and I think your approach is the better one... I was posting my response about the same time as yours and only saw yours after I replied!
  17. Just looking at the campaign now in the Editor and they do start with units on those cities. I believe Amadeus simply moved them off before realizing that they need to be maintained and hopefully the additional popup will remedy the situation.
  18. I believe the popup only appears after you have vacated the positions but I can add another popup event to appear right at the start of the game and hopefully that does the trick. Good catch on the Aigun spelling, it looks like the popup was created before we corrected the map names... I'll fix this as well.
  19. The 100 Regiments unit event is a representation of the historical Hundred Regiments Offensive: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hundred_Regiments_Offensive We simulate this by adding an Chinese Special Forces unit for the event. For the HQs in China, the map should start with 4. Two in the North, one near Chengchow in the middle and the other near Ichang in the South. Hubert
  20. Hi David! The Alternate/Industrial is just an abbreviation for Alternate Capital and Industrial Center at the same location. Hope this helps, Hubert
  21. This can easily be modable... one way to do it is to take a look at all the applicable MOBILIZATION#1,2,3 events and disable them for Italy by setting the entry #FLAG= 1 to #FLAG= 0. Alternatively, you could leave those alone and simply disable the applicable BELLIGERENCE events that bring Italy into the war against the Allies by setting these to #FLAG= 0. This way Italy can become fully mobilized but will not actually go to war unless you decide to have them enter the war on your own.
  22. Yes we identified that on some systems the map text slows things down... if you disable the map text then scrolling and general movement on the map should run much quicker as you sound like a likely candidate for this. To do this go to the OPTIONS->ADVANCED dialog and turn off the 'Map Text' option. In our newer releases the map text can now be set to hide during map scrolling as we have more advanced options for this in place. Hope this helps, Hubert
  23. Do you happen to have a saved turn from when France moved out of that position, preferably even a turn right before they moved out? For Italy, I believe we had a setting similar to this at one time but the general consensus was that Axis players wanted Italy into the game regardless or otherwise it felt like penalizing yourself for a quick victory in France with the Germans. Hubert
