78-22. Major Victory. First and only try so far. The default set-ups are good. I kept the tanks in their default location, and they did well. Lost the two Mk IVF2's and the Mk III. AI lost all but one T34 M43. Their troops never even got close to my flags. The fwd infantry HQ unit even sacked a T34 w/ a grenade!

This is happening to lots of folks (me included). They think it is a lack of VRAM in some video cards, but I think it is another problem altogether. Like you said, it dosen't always appear. So if it was a VRAM issue, it should be constantly showing up on maps that use more polygons than your card can handel. Anyway, it is on their "please fix or somfink" list. -

Are you nuts?! Do you have any idea how much military resources the east tied up for the Germans?! If Germany had won the war in the east, there is no way in hell the western allies could have hoped to open and hold a beachhead on any european shore. They would have been shoved back into the sea within days, maybe even hours. I am an American, and am pround of what we did for the war effort, but it would have counted for almost nothing if it had not been for the millions and millions of Russians that tied up most of Hitlers troops in the east. Man, you need to read up on things a little before you post. -
It is a small map, fictional, Russian standard army w/tanks vs. German panzers and Heer, city fight with mosty light and medium armor. Play balance is good at around 3000pts for each side. I am quite proud of the map. Lots of ambush areas, very tight conditions with lots of close combat oppertunities. There is no breifing yet, so I'll give you the skinny when you apply. I am interested in at least one person playing the AI as the Russians. I do not belive the computer can play well as the Russians due to issues with bridge crossings. I am mostly interested in people that would like to test this vs another player. Do not apply if your ieda of feedback is: Yeah, it was cool. Reinforcements sucked. Bye. I want feedback like this: Good map. Too many flags though. I think you should drop the one on the southeast corner and the one in the center next to the two large flags. Unit selection was a little unrealistic, but the overall balance was good. (pics enclosed w/ this e-mail) Something like that, Ja?

Are you token off the crack pipe?! :eek: I'm sure that after a few months of BB, that I will revisit BO from time to time. It's just that BB is a totally superior game in all aspects; including it's theater of war. The east front had so many more epic battles over a much longer period of the war. It can be argued that the German/Russo conflict was the center of WWII's outcome. If the Germans had won, what do you think would have happened with D-Day? Aborted, thats what. Much more dirt needed on the road wheels and lower hull Tiger. Gordon's got a great example of an unreleased T34 that is nice and dirtied up. I think he is starting a coalition of dirty AFV mods. -

I've noticed that Jeeps and Kubles can't see crap now. Sweet. I love the tank hunter teams. Cheap, realistic scouts that can ruin a tank's day! Reminds me of the three man recon teams from CC3. That was my favorit unit: Scout the front, hide in a house or wheat field, then pounce on the unlucky squad or tank with SMGs or 'Fausts when they came too close! :cool: -

I've learned much German from CMBO. I plan to learn Russian from CMBB! CMLT (Combat Mission: Language Teacher), who knew? Now if BTS would just release CMST (Combat Mission: Spelling Teacher), I'd be all set. -

Matt, I e-mailed Moon (to forward to one of you guys) with a similar problem where a bridge texture was missing. I'm not sure how much VRAM my card has, but is a GeForce 4-128MB (VRAM?) card.
