  1. Huge RO fan here, very eagerly waiting for this, thanks for posting this. But damn, still no word on the AFVs?
  2. Just wanted to pop in here and mention the mandatory point for any RT/WEGO discussion. That it'd be amazing if they included a 30 to 60 second replay feature for RT. It would make a huge difference and effectively making WEGO obsolete, except of course for PBEM. If you think RT is a clickfest, then your doing it wrong. The best thing WEGO has going for it self is the full 1 min replays. In RT, you sacrifice this for unlimited turns with the pause feature. The control freaks love RT because you have full control every single second of the battle. With the pause feature it's not a click-fest.
  3. I agree with most everything you said. You guys do deliver digital copies of your games and do it just as well. But it's the huge exposure of releasing on Steam is my point. Grant it, like you said, this is a different crowd than your target. But there's far more crossover gamers rather than just only FPSers or casual. Since Steam now covers almost all genres. Just think, whenever CMx2 releases a patch or module, hundreds of thousands of gamers can see this. This alone would generate alot of attention or curiosity to the BF site. Sure only a tiny fraction of Steam players would be interested. Then on top of that only a fraction would actually make a purchase. But even then this would probably translate to thousands of sales. I'm not even really a Steam lover, maybe log-on a few times a week for their really cheap sales. I just think business wise, BF would benefit greatly from the exposure.
  4. MUST HAVE FLAME! Then don't forget to use the smileys or you will get flamed!
  5. +1 to this, would like to see the return of the three textures for buildings. The basic or new look, then lightly damaged, and then heavy damage. Or possibly take it a step further, textures for different damage like for bullets or shells.
  6. Sounds good Thomm, thanks for posting the info. But could you post a few screenshots to go along with this. That'd be great, thanks a bunch.
  7. Send in a support ticket: http://www.battlefront.com/helpdesk/
  8. ToW has the same name in Steam, no change there. If that's true about why BF doesn't use Steam because of the fee's. Well that's just nuts. Steam is huge, it's the biggest digital distributor of games in the market. Also the buddy system available for all games is very popular. The amount of sales from the exposure of CMx2 would far outweigh any fees from Valve. But Valve is known to be pretty lenient with the cost of releasing there. Since there is a large amount of Indie devs with their games on Steam. Heck was just reading about this today: http://www.bluesnews.com/s/113478/how-steam-saved-introversion Also recall reading about the RO devs Tripwire Interactive(formerly just a mod team) attributing Steam for the success of their game.
  9. Wonderful, first biblical symbols on rifles and now soldiers getting punished for not attending church/concert. They should make an example of the general and at the least demote him, or better yet a discharge. Sadly though I doubt anything will become of it.
  10. Damn dude, those black widows can be fatal too. I've never seen one around my house, but I did have a big brown recluse spider about a year ago. Just think, in a parallel universe you might be in a hospital right now or worse, dead. (Sorry, been watching the science channel alot lately, shows on black holes, time travel, and parallel universes.) P.S. I'd kill them if I were you, take no chances.
  11. Try this one from the dosomefink website: mmohut.com/giveaways/world-of-tanks-closed-beta-key-giveaway Of course you gotta register with the site first, like I did at the curse site.
  12. Yeah essentially it's using MGs like artillery. By pointing MGs skyward with a spotter somewhere and hail an area with bullets from above. But didn't this first start in WWI and was used very little in the beginning of WWII? Not sure about this. I don't see why they shouldn't change this. When arty is tight in a mission you have to baby sit and micromanage it for best effect. When all they need to do is change the user interface to include a shell number and predicted shells spent for a fire mission.
  13. Thanks for the info stoat and Pandur, I'll keep it in mind.
  14. Well apparently starting out using the M3 Stuart is a deathwish. The option to use it with Recruit level is greyed out. So I started using the other light ones with better results. At least now I have a fighting chance.
  15. It feels kinda hokey, pretty lame starting out with the light tanks getting slaughtered by medium/heavy tanks. I don't know, only played for an hour so far. Makes me miss tanking in RO.
  16. Sweet I got a key, downloading now. Thanks for the heads up. For anybody else looking for a key, go here: curse.com/keys/world-of-tanks/default.aspx (pretty sure this is not commercial, it's a MMO database site, no products) Only 29% left and it ends tomorrow, so hurry up. Apparently you get a free M3 Stuart with this promotion too.
  17. By the way, anybody else notice the ease of which the crew dismounts the HW right after the vehicle gets KOed? It seems it doesn't matter what hits it, whether it be a direct hit from 150mm Kornet or multiple 30mm hits. Also noticed this instant dismount from burning vehicles too. It just doesn't seem right for the surviving crew to dismount with HW in hand so rapidly. Now this doesn't happen all the time, but seems too often.
  18. I put my app in to beta test, still no response yet. Looking forward to trying it out.
  19. Don't you mean Red Orchestra, since DoD had no tanks at all? If it is like RO then I will certainly like it. Although would like it more of a simulation than arcade shoot-em-up with tanks.
  20. What a great idea, thanks for posting these pics.
  21. Great bone! I was somewhat on the fence about getting the NATO module. But this pretty much seals the deal for me. Ok when can we pre-order?
  22. Ahh yes, I think your referring to Vietcong. This is a triple-A dev IMO, they made the Hidden & Dangerous series, Mafia, and the soon to be released Mafia II. Great game with a solid MP community. I even had the x-pack Fist Alpha. They did make a sequel but it wasn't as good as the first.
  23. I don't think they should at all. It all depends on what your use to. People come from playing the Arma series for awhile and then switch to CoD or the BF series. But it feels laughable, like Quake or Unreal with modern weaponry. Then vice-versa and people say Arma feels too sluggish or unintuitive. Some said the same crap about Red Orchestra too. It's designed that way on purpose.
  24. I would be happy to give Ryan's posts my full endorsement. Just as long as he buys me a copy of CMN in return.
