Wasn't NATO primarily built from the guys that did the Brits? Which I guess would leave the core BF folks to be working on the GWNN(Game With No Name).

Terrible mouse lag & how to disable this stupid music
MeatEtr replied to strelok's topic in Combat Mission Afghanistan
It's pretty easy to just add your own music too if you want. I uploaded what I prefer here: http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=744 http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=743 I assume mods can be used between games, at least don't see why not. -
Whoa now that's hard to watch. Three words come to mind, f*ck that job!

Just saw a short clip for Game Of Thrones
MeatEtr replied to Mord's topic in General Discussion Forum
Good question, I have HBO and watch it on a regular basis and have never heard of this series. In other HBO news, Martin Scorsese's Boardwalk Empire series started today. I haven't watched the first episode yet but certainly plan on watching the series. Perhaps this show will garner it's own thread. -
Wondering about buildings in CM Normandy
MeatEtr replied to Mord's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
If this was 1988, yes that fire effect would be fine. But it's 2010 now, how about this one. -
Ahem, now that CMSF Nato is finished...

Mac OS? What the hell is that, a new Big Mac from McDonalds? -
So your in the CMSF forum looking for an opponent for a game that's not even published here? I have two words for you, General Forum.

Something I'd like to see for CMSF QBs is a mirror option for when the player chooses B vs. B or R vs. R. Also, and this one may take some doing, a screen(like the editor) that shows you what has been picked for your forces, possibly for the AI opponent too. Rather than loading up a map and seeing the matchup ain't worth the time and effort. I know we're not gonna get the CMN QB update for CMSF. But would be nice to see some minor tweaks to it to make it more bearable.

Ahh ok, interesting how the spam bots work. I was just curious, thanks for responding. -

So why was arthurart09 banned for his single post? Methinks somebody double downed and registered a shadow buddy perhaps. -
I gotta draw on my first attempt, so got the boot. Not gonna bother with another tedious saving/reloading campaign.

Questions to Moon on CMA And Nato
MeatEtr replied to pkjsmith's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Very well then, whats the release date for the website and forum? -
Can we get bigger mine signs? There's a been a few times when a vehicle hits a mine and then sits right on top of the sign making it tough to tell they even hit a mine. Not to mention it's difficult to see what color the sign is until moving the camera down there. Also do you have to keep the engineers there after the sign turns yellow? Because it appears like they are done doing their hiding/spotting dance. And couldn't we get more descriptive text then that, something that makes more sense like "Clearing" or something.

Or somebody purposefully went for the nerdiness score possible.

And for those that may have missed it, here is when we can expect NATO: Moon:

Who did the new Afghan battle trailers?
MeatEtr replied to MikeyD's topic in Combat Mission Afghanistan
Moon, I really like the music too, did you do that as well? One small gripe though, why not have them in HD? -
I liked Jim Carrey's David Caruso impersonation on Letterman. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glvGfQnx3DI Yes, we need unit kill stats pronto. What's the word on this, I recall Steve saying they are certainly on the to-do list.

Will the QB system have randomly generated maps...
MeatEtr replied to noxnoctum's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Damn, and here I was hoping to argue with somebody about CMx1 Ops Vs. CMx2 Cams. What a big letdown, it's as if nobody even noticed my post. -
Will the QB system have randomly generated maps...
MeatEtr replied to noxnoctum's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
There's been plenty of long threads about CMx1 Op vs CMx2 Cam. They keep saying the scenario-string-campaign is what the majority wanted, even though most appear to be unhappy with it. Personally I think it has much more to do with technical reasons than what the tiny community wanted at CMBO launch time. Since Steve mentioned that was the time period of which the Op/Cam decision was made. Which is why they never updated the Op for the rest of the CMx1 games. But the CMx2 campaign will be improved upon. IIRC Steve mentioned persistent maps with battle damage and AFV wrecks hopefully. So I guess consider the current CMx2 campaign as a WIP. It'll just take time until they get to it. Since CMN will get the much-needed QB update. It'll have to wait until the second West Front family or East Front family of games. Hopefully I won't be dead by then! -
Will the QB system have randomly generated maps...
MeatEtr replied to noxnoctum's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Not to mention that 1:1 representation has nothing to do with why there are no randomly generated maps. This was all verified years ago before CMSF even launched. -

Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad screenies...
MeatEtr replied to noxnoctum's topic in General Discussion Forum
Thanks for the heads up, but I haven't played RO in about a year or so. I took part in a couple of tourneys and a bunch of clan invite nights going all the way back to like 2003. So not that interested in this one, although it does look and sound good though. Hey Redwolf, it's standalone again of course since they won a Unreal 3.0 license from the mod tournament. -
I just went back to CMBB about a month ago to play the new Diversity Tourney and loving it again. I've played both extensively too, so needed the setting change from about two years of CMSF. But I think most played CMAK modded for the CMBO setting with the patch updates rather than the Africa theatre. So then in this sense CMN will be the true death of CMBO/CMAK. But us East Front lovers sure won't let go of CMBB until we get the CMx2 family. So I consider the launch of CMN the partial death of CMx1.
